I can't put my finger on what's wrong with Glimmer. It doesn't feel she's really friends with any of the mane 6. It doesn't feel like they have a reason to be friends except to keep her from going psycho again. I guess you could say the same about Sunset and Discord, but somehow they both have better chemistry with the other characters. Like I said, I can't really pin down why Starlight doesn't work as well.
