I haven't watched the show since season 3 ending, Twilight's wings made me ragequit. Been only jerking off to ponies and reading fanfics ever since.

Lemme start by saying the ride never ends. I'm not sure what year it was when I last visited or posted on /mlp/, but today I felt compelled to come back for old times sake. (Pretty sure it was really late 2012 or early 2013)
I had started coming here in 2011 and had been a long time /k/omm/a/nd/o/ already. The last happenings I remember here was Faust tripfagging, the subsequent nuclear summer that followed with the influx of new visitors, and the I Believe in Cumming Inside Vinyl Scratch get (don't remember which was first).
Last episode I watched that I remembered was the one leaked one where Rainbow Dash went to Hitler Youth school with Spitfire as one of the Waffen-SS.
I used to do really shitty CYOA threads. In retrospect it amazes me that you guys participated, despite them always ending with

and the fact that my writing was probably shit tier back then.
After getting burnt out on the pone train I snuck back to /a/ and pretended this part of my life ever existed. Still keep in touch with my single ponyfag friend although we both aren't into it anymore.
Anyways, just stopped by and figured I'd shoot the shit with anyone here who wanted to. If anyone wanted to give me a brief fill in that'd be tight.yellow quiet was my favorite pone

I know there have been a lot of "I don't get it" and "I might start watching it" threads, but I haven't seen an origins thread.
I'm curious, /mlp/, whether you care for the show, movies, etc. or not, what got you into this fandom? And what, pray tell, got you to start coming to /mlp/?
I'll start with myself.
Since the beginning I never understood the appeal. I continually turned away in dusgust, wondering why such a huge following existed Less than a year ago, after occasionally seeing pony-related things online I'm various social medias, I decided I would "give it a shot" before ultimately deciding. While I wasn't totally into it at first, I was however curious as to where the first episode's cliffhanger would go.
Now, I've seen every episode and all 4 Equestria Girls "movies" (for lack of a better word) more than twice and find myself constantly f5-ing /mlp/ as often as I can.
So tell me /mlp/, what convinced you to become a horsefucker?

A friend challenged me to give it the "5 episode rule," so I watched episodes 1-4, then 15 because he recommended it. I thought it was just okay, but he was cool about it.
Then my older sister told me to give it one more shot, and recommended episode 19, and it was the classic cartoony-style humor that hooked me. Then I went back and watched it all, and begun to fall in love with the characters. Then I found EQD and all that. Showed a lot of my friends.
I loved all the jokes the bronies made - it was so tongue-in-cheek, yet somewhat sincere. Everyone was just having fun with it, while poking fun at themselves and laughing at how ridiculous it all was.
I don't actually frequent /mlp/ but I pop in every now and then. Glad I did, this will be a nice thread.

Some are good. Most are forgettable, many are shit. They contain more references and fanservice than the episodes. Don't expect masterpieces, but they're still pony, and that is all that matters to me. To you, I don't know. It's your choice.
