It felt like the point of that fight was to show Ex-Aid and Paradox working together, rather than to resolve any especially urgent conflict initiated by the villains.
The Parado storyline in 39/40 was a highlight of the series, but it was hard not to feel like the main plotline was just spinning its wheels while that was going on.

Amazon has an odd and rushed first episode but afterwards it's nice.

I don't recommend V3 though, it's basically an inferior version of the original series (Well production values are higher than the first half of the show, but it doesn't handle the monsters as well and the Rider Scouts have a much stronger presence than they should). The first couple of episodes when everything is still transitioning from the original show and the last 10 or so episodes when Riderman appears are great, but the path to get there might not be worth it. I'd actually recommend Stronger rather than V3 if you want to watch a Showa series.

I actually think Next is my favorite so far, despite most fans hating it from what I've seen. I'm looking at Decade, Fourze, or Ex-Aid as my first released TV series.My reasoning for each is that Decade seems like a good introduction to Kamen Rider like Gokaiger was for me for Super Sentai, Fourze had cool interactions with Go-Busters, and Ex-Aid is the latest so its Rider has a high chance of being OP in Climax Fighters. Thanks for any advice!

/krg/'s ideas aren't obscure enough, and that's why they suck. Don't you see? House wouldn't have a door Driver and use keys. That's too straight forward for Bandai/Toei. His driver would be a etch-a-sketch, his forms would be themed after each letter in the alphabet, and he'd transform with different flavored lunch meats.

Depends on your usage. I got the Golden Ringo lockseed out on display for years now and its paint is still intact. I'm guessing that they used the same kind of paint on the Muteki gashat. It does get dusty sometimes but its sheen hasn't gotten cloudy yet.

I actually prefer the Rider 2 episodes more than the later Rider 1 ones in the original show, before the Gel-Shocker run. They just tried way too hard to push Rider 1 when he returned to the point that until we get to Gel-Shocker's build up it feels like every monster of the week is a joke compared to Rider1, always having to resort to traps or hostages to have a chance of beating him.

Rider 2 also had some better "just as planned" moments than Hongo's, like the time Ichimonji faked sleeping right beside a disguised Colonel Zol.

I really liked Ichimonji's character in his debut episodes and the following arc too, you get a juxtaposition of someone having nightmares about the procedure that turned him into a Rider with him being light hearted to others and doing stuff like jumping on a wrestling ring with a cape. Too bad that characterization is rarely shown afterwards.

He's also pretty cool in the Shocker Rider arc. He finally gets a good looking outfit and beats Shocker Rider 1 by "cheating" (just jumping and kicking him out of his bike when he attempted to force a bike duel like he did with Hongo).
