What's your favorite IBO arc? Mine is the Hasmal arc.

Good arcs: Any where McGillis plays a major role
Bad arcs: Everything else
Utter shit arcs: Any where Sugoilla play a major role

The mobile armor was extremely underwhelming.
>>
>>15862790
I didn't even noticed that IBO has arcs. I thought they just only have one enemy. Who is the real enemy again in the show?
>>
>>15862832
Tekkadan and McGliss
>>
>>15862832
War is the enemy.

The ending. And I dont mean that in some snarky 'hur glad it was over' way.
>Orga dying
>Rustal's orbital bombardment plan
>Space Guts killing that motherfucker with the ponytail
>pic related
>Orga and Mika meeting in the afterlife
>Julieta and Gaelio finally understanding their foes
>the Tekkadan monument/farm scene
>Punished Rider
It had moments that were stupid, like Rustal in general. But overall I greatly enjoyed it.
>>
>>15862832
G-Horn. But like any organization it had different faces representing it at different times.

>>15862790
Hashmal of course. Why the show didn't just turn itself into Gundam: MonHun is beyond me.
>>
So, why did they drop the ball so hard with mobile armours? Once Hashmal was killed they were never mentioned again
>>
>>15863010
Sunrise has a weird production cycle. If I remember correctly they split the season in two and then usually have two different teams work on each one.
>>
>>15862882
I honestly hope. If they do ever do anything more with the series it's not a fucking sequel but a prequel that takes us back to the calamity war and 72 hotblooded heroes going full MonHun on armies of mobile armors and plumas.
>>
>>15863098
That wasn't supposed to be two sentences but whatever.
>>
Either of the movies get announced yet?
>>
>>15862790
None, they all suck
>>
>>15862790
Final arc, by far. The conclusion was such a positive surprise for me. I was expecting an asspull, but there was none. The ending was down to earth, but also bittersweet.
>>
>>15863010
Hashmal was thrown into the show to sell toys. They didn't have enough episodes to introduce more mobile armours. Maybe in a side story, if one is ever made.
>>
One of GIBO's (numerous) problems was that the backstory sounds more interesting than the actual events of the show. Whose dick do I have to suck to see the story about humanity's desperate war against an army of genocidal AI war machines instead of the convoluted and dull political conspiracies that we actually got?
>>
>>15864065
The former sounds as dull and overused as the latter, tbqh.
>>
Hashmal for Flauros and Barbie. Had Mika actually killed everybody in the last episode then it would have been the last arc, but the fact that Gaelio, Rustal and Julietta survived simply was too much for me. I dont watch fiction to have mentally deranged cunts without a functional moral compass survive, especailly when the only reason theyve survived up to that point had been plot-armor.
>>
>>15862790
Hashmal arc is the only one I remember fondly, mostly because it's the only one I remember at all. Most other stuff in this show immediately evaporated from my brain after watching it.
>>
>>15862790
Why was the Mobile Armor in good guy colors?
>>
>>15864297
> I dont watch fiction to have mentally deranged cunts without a functional moral compass survive, especailly when the only reason theyve survived up to that point had been plot-armor.
Then why did you want Mika and Tekkadan to win?
>>
>>15864323
They wouldnt have won. They all died, but I sure as hell didnt want Rustal and Julietta outlive them. No one in that entire show deserved death more than these two, not even Iok.
>>
>>15864334
Julieta barely did anything to make her deserving of dying, killing her off in the last battle would achieve ????
>>
>>15864420
Me being a satisfied viewer.
>>
>>15864431
I was satisfied with her living.
>>
>>15862832
Tekkadan were their own worst enemy.
>>
Probably the Earth arc except for the ending. They killed two of the three characters that they had to asspull surviving and them surviving served no purpose.
S2 was shit. It felt even more directionless than season 1 and was full of bias, selt inserts and forced plot.
>>
>>15864565
Only if your "brain".
>>
>>15864043
The ending was a bogus pile on nonsense due to Okada throwing away all logic in the name of wanting to give a happy end for her pets. Rustal getting away scot free after everything he did on Eartth after leaving all the evidence on the spot and never getting questionned about was absolute rubbish. What is so down to Earth about the world magically "fixing" itself with some bullshit decree in the span of five years?
>>
>>15865719
At the very least Kudelia should have had a giant fucking grudge against Rustal for everything he did.
>>
>>15864420
I hate the preferentioal treatment she got. She should have gotten shat on for being a mindless drone following Rustal the same every Tekk memeber was shat on for mindlessly following Orga, it would only be fair. IBO was a hypocritical pile of trash where Tekkadan receives punishment for everything while G-horn gets glorified for doing exactly the same except in much more flagrant way. She deserved death for being stupid just as much Gaelio deserved death for being a vengeful piece of shit.
The lesson she learnt was worthless too because we the audience already fucking knew all of that and she just came off as obtuse for only acknowledging it at the very end. Even worse than that, she came off as a literal inquisitor who acknowledged the humanity of the "witch" they trialed only after the "witch" has died thus proving her humanity. It was completely retarded.
>>
>>15865735
Nah she good
>>
>>15865735
>spend an entire season showing how corrupt G-horn is
>no they're the good guys all along!
I will never understand the creators of season 2. I mean I get it, in the grand scheme of things Tekkadan were a bunch of killers for hire cavorting with criminals, but did they just forget the shit the supposed space police were pulling?
The entire fucking first season revolved around 'they're going to assassinate a peaceful revolutionary because she's threatening their corrupt, brutal ways'.
>>
>>15865818
It was Okada's doing. She threw the show's integrity under the buss to faciliate for a happy end for her husbando and her self insert. Nagai's version of the ending, as much loathing it inspires was at least thematically coherent with some kind of vision: the world is shit and it will never change, people in power are always corrupt, whoever tries to oppose this is going to get shit on. It's nihillistic and a retarded waste of time but at least it's coherent. This, of course, is unintentional as well because Nagai's actual vision was: evil Space Rats doing evil things and getting righteously punished. Regardless it still works as a tragic ending on a coherent narrative level.

But then Okada is like, oh no! But I want a happy end for my husbando! Oh no, but my husbando belongs to an evil organization and its most evil faction on top of that!! D-dousho? I know, I'll just make the organization not evil anymore! That'll fix it!

Additional problems such as Tekkdan being written wastly differently from what Nagai envisioned not withstanding, the ending could still work as a tragedy but as it is, it just comes off as forcing a happy end into circumstances that are simply NOT HAPPY and the whole thing comes off as a mean spirited derision.

I rather liked the Hashmal Arc.

>>
>>15862790
>Hashmal
>that low
Gave us Iok's stupid antics, a giant robot fight that was nice to watch, brought in beams and Flauros.
The issue is that he was wasted and dropped in all honestly, Skynet gone wild in animal themed killing machines fighting Mobile suits, I'd watch an OVA or read a manga depicting the Calamity wars or another MA fight in the post disaster universe. Was expecting the final arc to involve a MA, but got poorly done 00 finale.
>>15862882
I wonder if Hashmal will be added into Gundam Versus now. Would be a fun boss considering the MA bosses you get there (only played the open beta's survival mode though).

The point is that sometimes, you just need to be in the right place at the right time to be a hero. That's all that is.

Gaelio's perfectly understandable, however. If I was a diehard Communist, and Stalin marked me for his purges, I'd renounce everything to do with Communism, forever.

In fact, I'd become the most die-hard Capitalist ever, and I'd actively fight any kind of Socialism. Why? Out of sheer spite, because *Stalin betrayed me*. I would live only to make sure all his works came to nothing.

Look at it this way: Gaelio was in the whole 'reform' thing because of McGillis's personal charisma and a kind of noblesse oblige. It's like if you believe in helping poor people, then you get mugged by refugees. I know from that point on, I'd be like "Fuck refugees and fuck the poor, they can eat shit."
>>
>>15866938
You're a retard.
>>
>>15866945

What's retarded about that? Reform wouldn't have helped Gaelio personally, since Gaelio was already on the top of the heap. He was in it because of his man-crush on McGillis.

After all that shit, who would care about reform any longer?
>>
>>15866478
Thats the eye that Mika lost after pumping Barbatos up. I like to imagine that the gundams are semi sentient and Barby detected an old foe and was all 'shit son lemme see that nigga' and turned Mikas eye on.

I thought Hashmal fed the buggers with microwaves? Are those microwave cables?
>>
>>15867412
It did, The manga's wrong about how it's powering the Pluma's.
>>
>>15864068
It could be made fun
>>
>>15866474
I like how the Hashmal is surrounded by dainsleif rounds that were obviously shot from orbit, while the Flauros got punked by one of the Plumas. Same thing basically happens in the last EP, the dainsleifs did all the work.
>>
>>15867895
G-horn wasnt using Dainsleif when Hashmal showed up. They only got pulled out of storage when Iok went full retard.
>>
>>15867895
Woah. I did not notice that the first time. Flauros probably asked to fire in his position so that he could take the Hashmal with him. A noble sacrifice.

CALAMITY WAR SPINOFF WHEN?

>>15867927
Watch the webm again. There's a Dainsleif round behind Hashmal when awakened. Probably used to take it down during the Calamity War.
>>
>>15867946
Oh right, I thought that was just some fucking pole or something.
>>
>>15865818
>no they're the good guys all along!
You missed it. Gjallarhorn were the bad guys. The were selfish and inefficient. Rustal was the good guy.
>>

>>

Not everyone, only Nagai and Otsuka really. And even they've already given up repeating it because nobody was buying it.
>>
>>15864420
>Julieta barely did anything to make her deserving of dying

She barely did anything to make her deserving of living either. At least with death, you could reason to yourself that they were writing out a character that outlived their usefulness.

If anything it should've been kids going big over their heads, being manipulated in schemes bigger than them (Teiwaz and Bael mainly) and the result of the 300 years of mismanagement marking a lesson to all.
That's how I would've written it. Some of it is probably there in the show, but not "paying for crimes" or making Orga and everyone go full retard when the only crimes they did was be born into that world and try to free themselves. After leaving Teiwaz they could've still worked with Aubrau, not jump straight into a politics war.
>>15867946
>>15867895
>could've had child soldier themes with cool wars against killer AI robots
>get rushed S2
Honestly I'll say it as it is, S1 was ok. Weak in aspects, boring in others, but more coherent than the mess that was S2 in what it was trying to achieve.
>>
>>15865818
>The entire fucking first season revolved around 'they're going to assassinate a peaceful revolutionary because she's threatening their corrupt, brutal ways'.
At the time Gjallarhorn made the decision to assassinate Kudelia, she wasn't yet a revolutionary. She just made a speech on the economic disparity between Earth and Mars without any meaningful suggestion of how to resolve it.
>>
>>15866938
>>15866950
You realize Gaelio only caring about improving the society he lives in so McGillis would like him isn't a point in his favor, right? It just shows him to be a self-centered egoist with no standards.
>>
>>15869055

What's your point? It's still perfectly reasonable, and in line with what actually happened.
>>
>>15870033
Dropping a cause you were pursuing, a good cause at that, because some guy who was also pursuing it was mean to you is the opposite of a reasonable behaviour. It's 100% emotional, petty, fickle and just dumb.

But most people join a cause because of the charisma of the leader. They don't really believe in it, they're just inspired by that one guy.

If the object of your devotion turns on you, all that love turns into hatred.
