I'm excited, the premise is solid, the director has yet to let me down, and the robot designs look cool.

I bet there'll be like six people on /m/ watching it.

gg only did the 1st cour.

The subs for Magi Sinbad spin-off was also a mess since no group completely finished it from beginning to end (all of them only did parts of the series then still haven't released more) although someone ripped Netflix subs now.
>>
>>15415574
I'm not sure about that. Netflix does that with all the Jap shows they pick up, and the episodes are available in Japan not too long after they've aired. There might be some weird international copyright thing going on, but I suspect they're waiting for a completed dub to release in NA.
>>
>>15415599
So is LWA.

It basically comes down to the popularity.
If it gets any traction, people will strat translating it.
>>
>>15415752
That's certainly possible. My guess was based on how they handled Dark Matter, which was released in a batch only after it had all aired, and I know that one was due to the higher ups on the show side rather than Netflix itself. Or did you mean that Netflix Japan has episodes up shortly after they air?

I didn't really change much from the original script other than a word here or there and removing the honorifics. I also used most of the changes already made in the piratepad.

Many thanks to the subbing anon.

Looks pretty good, definitely one of the better 3D anime. Looking forward where they intend to take this.
Kinda bummed they get her body back so easily (based on the preview) since it seems to be building up towards the whole being stuck in a machine forever scenario.
>>
>>15424386
I am thinking that's already happened with other members of the team, maybe even Ido
>>
>>15424397

>>
>>15424474
Well, it seems there's a concern they might delete it for having the raw group's tag right there in the title.

I don't think the anons would mind using any simple descriptive title, since the idea is to get folks to watch the show

Was Netflix like this with their previous shows too?
>>
>>15425252
Yes, Netflix seems to have this idea that the all Western audiences want nothing more than to binge watch shows, so they license roughly one show a season, call it a Netflix original, and air it 1 cour at a time (so all at once if 1 cour, or in two halves if 2 cour after each cour finishes)

Although they do also grab streaming rights in Japan as well for the titles they license as part of their effort to become relevant in the Japanese market, and they release it there weekly.
>>
Thanks for subs, anon.

The episode was pretty alright. I don't hate anyone yet. The fuck was with the ending theme, though.
>>
>>15425293
Kageyama trying to be somber yet inspirational and also sing in English. Not my favorite song of his, though the man is getting old after all. At least the vibe of the ending does suggest things will get more serious in time. They're not exactly totally carefree right now, with abandoning people in space and so on

Also, this is just a personal gripe, but when there's the bottom text, maybe move the subtitles to the top (to around 650 vertical for single line, 600 for double), especially if it's a double line. It just looks neater that way, I think.

As far as I am aware that's a thing in legit novels too, old classics included. The only really other way to convey it through text is to combine it with a whole extra line of text describing the manner of which it was said.

Great work on the subs!

Riverdale, Designated Survivor, Legends of Tomorrow and now iZombie season 3 all are weekly releases in Finland, though the last three are one week behind the US airings, and I'm probably forgetting some others. I don't know if it's cynicism or experience, but there's a part of me that's now waiting for the inevitable moment when it all goes bad. Good to see good /m/ though, especially given an actually ok show like this.

>>15425285
To be fair, that's accurate historically. Netflix DOES do a lot better in America when shows are released in clumps. Really sucks when you need them for your subs, but it is what it is.
>>
>>15428903

If you're right, I have to wonder if that human body from the next episode preview and the OP/PV won't just be a projection. Unless the person in the pod isn't Greyman ata ll.
>>
>>15429056
considering that they all had name tags floating above their heads and both Rick and Id were on comparable heights to the rest of the fleshy characters I have a feeling they have a virtual space where everybody can hang out.

Which actually isn't a bad idea. If you can digitize a person's consciousness, having a variety of virtual worlds that people can relax in, would both be good for moral, but also save on ship living space

For Greyman and his daughter it probably lets them have some conventional family time
>>
>>15429095
I hope that's the case. It would be a good touch, especially that last part.

If he had one in the first place. He might have been an AI of some kind.

It's unlikely, but they might go for a TWIST like that.
>>
>>15429037
If it goes bad you should simply drop the trip and join us in the /a/ threads we will have and have fun with us
>>
I just watched it earlier. Things went by just a little too fast for my liking, but I'm intrigued by what we've seen so far. A little disappointed that main girl got her meat body back so quickly after it was hinted she would be stuck in the robot body for a while.

Also something I noticed: when the professor and the assistant's I-Machines were destroyed, they wake up in their flesh bodies seemingly with no recollection of their time in the machine. So what I assume happens is that a -copy- of their memories and personality is transferred to the I-Machine while the actual consciousness is asleep, then if they deactivate properly, the machine's new memories are written onto the original's?

Sneaky little space creature.
>>
>>15432021
I presume we'll get some clarification on that

Overall it was interesting but the beginning exposition was a bit unnecessary. It basically just tells that humans can space because of magic mineral, which is made clear during the episode anyways.

I bet using it is damaging the space-time continuum or at least that is what the commie hippies who hate america are saying.
>>
>>15432021
That seems like a decent theory. It does however beg the question of what happens if the link between someone's pod and I-machine was somehow severed but both the pod and machine remained intact. Would you have two "copies" of the person. One in the I-machine and one in the original body? What would happen if they met up?
>>
>>15435119
More likely it has more valid concerns.

Remember, that shit causes massive energy storms when it's "in the wild", and when Id got near that one bigger vein it fucked up his robot body.

I wonder how that liquid used in the robots works

Fridge horror time - The professor was trying to kill her to tie up loose ends (and if the pirates never visited, she likely would have been offed later)

By ejecting the pod, the poor girl (if her unit is destroyed) would be restored inside the pod, in deep space with finite life support, or worse; it was ejected on a trajectory that would fling it into one of those storms
>>
>>15436847
I think he just didn't want to deal with it - he was already shown as being loose with morals or just out for a quick buck by selling the information to that corporation that was mining it. Going back to rescue her would probably have been too much effort for him.
>>
>>15436847
Actually, it seems like the pod automatically tries to stay nearby enough to the i-machine for consciousness-reuploading.
Which makes the system a little bit faulty and dangerous. But it's most likely something that played right into the hands of the professor.
The energy storm is a good convenient excuse for him to justify the safety of the ship while letting Maya stranded in space.
In their log, they would be able to show that they didn't murder her, and had to abandon her to save themselves.

That's actually a good point. You would think that if an I-Machine moved out of range of the pilot for too long, some kind of failsafe would activate and shut down the machine/wake up the pilot.

That is, unless there is no pilot to wake up.

I really wish all Japanese TV channels would air anime with subs, I mean the west does it for almost every show for the hearing impaired. Guess Japan doesn't care as much.

Great show, but I'm really bad at listening to this blasted language, especially when it's scifi banter.
>>
>>15440865

>>
>>15440869
Not every channel, it seems, I think Kitsunekko is ripping almost all of the available ones and that's only a portion of currently airing series. But if every channel has subs, that means I've gotta find a way to obtain those somehow.
>>
>>15440804
It's most likely only going to be 12 episodes. The BD box will have around 290 minutes of animated stuff, which makes it fit for 11-12 episodes.
>>
Besides briefly introducing the person who seems to be the creator of the mind transfer system and potential villain...I liked that they took the time to reflect on what happened last episode at the start. Gives the show more of a continuing narrative flow.

Otherwise, it was pretty nice this week, mostly focused on Ido and Maya developments.

Also, the mysterious girl showed up.

It's a voluntary effort, retard. The anons making the subs don't owe you anything and don't have to stick to any schedule just for you. Kill yourself. People like you is why many fan translation projects not just for anime, but games and VNs too end up dropped.
