I think RX-78 discussed it a little a while ago, or I may be mixing it up with the Victory BDs which he also did a comparison and discussion of.

A review said it used the Japaenese box set master which I believe was a frame by frame restoration. The dub was also mentioned to be the Ocean one which I think was the Toonami version.

Nah, it's hammy as fuck at times but it works extremely well for the type of show MSG is. Only things I can really fault it for are minor censorship, no Doan's Island (thanks Tomino) and different sound effects.

You know that disconnect you have between dub and sub? For some reason, Amuro sounds the same in both languages to me.

i got it, its really good, almost too good, its really easy to see the dirt on the cells and it doesn't hide a lot of animation flaws. but that's how i like it.

A tad compression heavy, but the DNR actually saves it. RS wouldn't be able to get away with that kind of episode count if the grain was left in, as can be seen if you watch the BD commercial on the discs. That commercial uses unfiltered HD footage, and it looks like a mess. Overall though, it looks solid on a TV, and is cheap enough that you should support it.

0079 dub is generally good, and Swaile loves the role, which helps a lot; e and Kopsa sell it.

I don't think they'd be stupid enough to do that on BD25. The Japanese BDs were 5-6 to a disc per BD50 though, with nearly double the bitrate (20-22Mbs, vs 38-40).
