We playing now
Where did that Zaku come from?
>the long lost civilisation in a far distant galaxy with extinguished sun formerly known as /m/
That's what you get for getting rid of your biggest plotarmor
Welp. i failed again.
We tested multiple times, and used the most likely to win, but some times PES don't want to cooperate in the actual match and other times the other manager just makes the perfect counter, Congrats to CollieBro, manager of /an/ who also had his sex change operation this week.
Meanwhile i am considering retiring
2 goals on 9 shots isn't bad by any means, but /an/ had 11 on target shots out of 13 total. On top of that, all of those shots went in or were saved by Godmars, which meant the defense was doing jackshit the whole match.
Every single cup I watch the /m/ matches in hopes of seeing the same team from that heart pounding /a/-/m/ match from years ago. Where did they go?
>Congrats to CollieBro, manager of /an/ who also had his sex change operation this week
fucking seriously? we lost to a team managed by a tranny? this is next levels of disappointment
Allow me to be your lightning rod of hate.
Questions, comments, concerns, let me hear them out.
You had lost from the formation setup. A 4-4-1-1 needs actual wingers, not wide players and especially not no-style CMFs you copied from /mlp/ without understanding how they worked in /mlp/'s system. The 1 in the hole in a 4-4-1-1 is usually a false 10 (Hole Player/Dummy Runner AMF in PES parlance), if not an out and out SS. If you wanted to use /mlp/'s style of center mids, you should've actually run the magic rectangles with Alt as a second striker. If you wanted to do a narrow version of GoldTiger's 4-5-1 you needed Shin Getter and Mazinger Z to be Hole Player AMFs.
There was no distribution because everything had to go through Alt and there was no attacking thrust because there was literally one aggressively attacking player on the team.
Does anyone on the council know how football or PES works? Don't answer that, it's rhetorical.
Guys, please, PLEASE, get your shit together for Spring.
You showed some decent things here and there, but the original plans just weren't good enough.
Whose tactics were responsible for this fuckup?
>implying this isn't some tripless manager from /4ccg/
Our thread has been link so I can no longer determine what is actual concerns and what just trying to fuck with us. No offense anon. You still make excellent points.
Please retire, /m/ council. You had 3 years to get better. It didn't happen. Just sack yourselves and put the team on auto pilot mode. At least if we lose, we'll have an excuse and it wouldn't be as embarrassing.
I mean, you gave it a try, it didn't work. We can move on from the cup. It was getting tiring lately anyway.
>PLEASE, get your shit together for Spring.
No, they've done enough.
>they've done enough
If they can get a competent replacement, I'd be perfectly happy to see the /m/ council finally disbanded.
Maybe leave 1 or 2 people as testers for the new guy.
That is not my decision. That would be something Kaiser and I would have to determine, being the elders of the Council but if a competent, non-horsefucker manager wishes to step up and take the reins, he or she may contact us, and we will disband from managing, since most of the council can still test.
Who gives a shit if the manager is from /mlp/?
Do you think people care at this point? We just want to win some games and have fun. We can't have fun when we're constantly being turned into a laughing stock.
Why not just disband the whole thing? Aren't you tired of the same shitty results over and over again? Stop wasting your time with the 4cc. Or maybe just stick to commentating. Right now the /m/ council is synonymous with failure.
Just retire. Please. The charade has gone through long enough. It's been proven that you guys aren't fit for being managers, save /m/ the pain and step aside. Even if it means that /m/ goes on autopilot.
/m/ WAS KILLED BY A MURDEROUS GOOSE
IT IS A SIGN
HE'S THE ONE WHO WILL REPLACE GUNDUMB AND BRING ARROGANCE BACK
YOU KNOW IT TO BE TRUE
>Who gives a shit if the manager is from /mlp/?
Because horsefuckers are the cancer of this cup. Sure, they were fine at the beginning but they have weaseled there way into high ranking positions in this cup and have expanded out to various managers. Success means nothing when you're constantly accused of being a planted horsefucker team. We, built this team on homegrown managers, and I'll be damned if I let any mercenary run this team. Like it or not, that is how we roll.
It won't be autopilot. /m/ will get coma'd which is about as good as a death sentence.
We actually did that to see the weaknesses of our tictacs. Unfortunately it didn't work...
As said in /4ccg/, my head is yours to take if you want it. Hopefully we can get better when spring comes. This last match is not acceptable...
>Upgrade RX-78-2 to RX-93
Done before. Nu Gundam was a worse striker than Gundam
>Drop Megas XLR for Char's Zaku
Drop Iron Giant for Big Zam GK
Won't happen. Gundam is limited to 2 spots on the team to keep equal distribution. Wanting Char's Zaku and Big Zam requires replacing Gundam and G-Self
So old Halloween /m/ then?
Well, I do think it is time for a striker change. Gundam has done us well but he was meant as a temporary fix until we nailed down a new striker. We could find a new Gundam or give a new franchise a medal position.
Anyway, I'm gonna take a break to eat something/drink my troubles away. I'll return in like an hour or so.
Robot Detective K on the team when
I think there should be 2 gundam slots, one for classic Gundam and one for currently airing stuff like Orphans and the Origin. Any more and it's cutting into other series. I just wish we had a Gundam goalhorn.
>Like it or not, that is how we roll.
The /m/ team belongs to everyone. You realize you're monopolizing the team when you say shit like that.
>/m/ will get coma'd
This is better than embarrassing results like today's.
Disband the council, retire from your positions. The current /m/ team needs a death sentence.
>What they need is knowledge and an actual gameplan.
Which will never happen. It's been 3 fucking years, and we never managed to be more than a babby team since the /m/ council took over. Everytime we progressed to the elite cup, we made a fool of ourselves and went back to the babbies.
The /m/ council just need to disband. I appreciate what they did for the team, but it's time to move on and let other /m/ anons come to help naturally instead of going through one or two guys who are controlling everything about the team.
It needs new leadership, not just new managers.
You have petty 4chan prejudice. Just win games for fuck sake. Relying only on homegrown managers is retarded if they're bound to fail everytime. Fans make most of the team, not the managers.
>m/ started home-grown, it dies home-grown.
Then let it die home-grown now.
If the /m/ council is not willing to look into foreign boards for managers, then we might as well kill off the team and the council altogether.

Extract from the IRC chat. I must say that the defeatist comment pissed me off. I will commend him for getting offended, even if it matters jack shit.
I think I'm going to go ahead and say that /m/ Council is competent enough to warrant not sacking everyone. Think about it, this upcoming Winter cup will only be the second elite tournament that /m/ has missed since the Council took over. /a/ and /sp/ have missed CONSECUTIVE elite cups.
So you don't go full offensive/panic (in our case, going to the Custom preset) when you're going 2-0 down in a decisive match when you have to score 2 goals or else you go to spring?
High risk, high reward. It blew in our faces. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. We had to try. We didn't go panic from the get go.
I understand your disappointment as a fan, but to suggest that we threw the match? Really? That's just plain offensive. Period.
At this point in time it doesn't matter. We're in spring either way and we'll see what happens to the council as it is
I'm no manager, but I would have changed the formation to support more wingers for Gundam and exploit the wings, and press for more centers instead of trying to work up the ball in the area.
In high risk matches where we have a bad track against a team, better go full bus parking to secure the next round.
I will admit that I was a defeatist from the beginning of the match, as the logs can prove, but to have the manager, the one who can help the outcome of the match say that we were going to spring anyways, that's disheartening to hear.
>/m/ started home-grown, it dies home-grown. No mercenaries.
Well, then, perhaps the situation warrants a change to that blinkered, isolationist, exclusionist line of thought.
It doesn't goddamn matter if the manager is an apparent 'mercenary', it matters if they're good.
This is bullshit, to be honest.
That doesn't mean any new managers should browse /m/ only, but they should at least browse the board regularly.
Mercs shouldn't be a thing.
Perhaps it was more a misunderstanding, since english is not my native language. I meant something like "we're 2-0 down and we're in spring with this result, so we better go into full out offensive to take those two goals, and if we concede more it won't matter because we will be in spring if we lose anyway". It's not defeatist, it's just plain despair and panic. It was either we score 2 or we don't get anything. We wanted to be in winter. Believe me, we wanted it. We didn't lower our arms then. It hurts a lot to see the team lose like that and we're really sorry for it.
>they should at least browse the board regularly.
Mercs are those who take over boards with no fans.
/m/ has a passionate fanbase compared to a lot of other boards. We deserve better.
>Anyone that manages the team is not allowed to browse any other board regularly.
Mate, that logic is all kinds of retarded.
Guys, get the Tigerzord on the team to replace Godmars as GK. Can't fail!
>Mercs are those who take over boards with no fans.
Nope, mercs are people who manage for a board they don't browse.
This is about having fun, not winning at all costs, as >>13471337 also says.
By the way, I feel that it should be mentioned /m/ isn't the worst team in this cup by a long shot.
In fact, it's mostly been a string of middling performances followed by crushed hopes and dreams for the last couple of years.
I think it's partly all of the colony drop meming and the occasional sparks of hope that make all of this so sad.
I don't think that we should just toss out the Council and take the first random anon who offers to manage regardless of board browsing.
I do feel there should be a thorough cleanup of the managment structure and possibly a retirement for some people who don't really contribute any more.
There should be a clear person in charge, who can get the others to help them with what they feel needs to get done.
>You're missing the point of watching.
The point is to have fun.
You can have a lot of fun if your team is winning. You can't have fun if your team is constantly being derided as a bad joke.
>I don't think that we should just toss out the Council and take the first random anon who offers to manage regardless of board browsing.
Then you're wrong.
>I do feel there should be a thorough cleanup of the managment structure
No. The /m/ council was given enough time for all that shit to happen. Most boards sack their managers only after a few cups. People here have been loyal for more than 3 years.
The council desperately needs sacking. The name itself is a joke nowadays. The /m/ team needs a very thorough cleaning. Get rid of the leadership, and let everyone else have a shot at contributing to the team. We don't have to go through update_guy. It's not fair.
Give the /m/ team breathing space.
That's a fine thought and I don't blame you for thinking it. Though if there's a clean up involved in the management, I don't really see the harm in bringing in a little help elsewhere for a fresher and experienced perspective.
Hell, seems the primary prejudice with it is that he's apparently he browses /mlp/. So what? He could browse /m/ as well for all any of you know.
Hell, Sou runs /f/ with Smudgey, who is a very frequently /mlp/ browser and potentially flatout horsefucker. They work together fine, despite Sou's burning hatred for horsefuckery. I hardly think one joining the management here to try and improve things a little is going to be the worst thing ever. Fun can still be had.
We got new people testing recently (between spring~summer) and Updateguy gave his skype for people interesed in stepping up.
Not like that matters because you are literally memeing instead.
>it's mostly been a string of middling performances followed by crushed hopes and dreams for the last couple of years.
This might be ok for some small dead team, but we're /m/ for fuck sake. We deserve better, and we're not getting it because of petty prejudices and fake conspiracies.
>/m/ has a passionate fanbase compared to a lot of other boards. We deserve better.
You're right, but a mercenary isn't better. It's worse. We win with our own or we take our Zaku and go home.
>Updateguy gave his skype for people interesed in stepping up.
Except he won't take in anyone no matter how good they are if they're from a foreign board he doesn't like.
Also, I ask you seriously, why should anyone go through Update Guy? Gold Tiger stepped up and did what he did because he liked it. A manager should be chosen by the community, not one single guy.
Yeah, being a horsefucker shouldn't be a problem as long as he's an actual /m/ browser as well.
I wouldn't turn down a testing offer from a fellow fa/tg/uy because he also happens to browse /mlp/.
And as >>13471425 mentioned, it's not as if there hasn't been any new blood in the /m/ management lately.
I think a testing period over Winter where we can add some new blood and determine a proper structure of management is called for.
Remember that some other boards have quite a few testers, like mulp.
I do think that maybe UG should take a break from all management-related stuff.
He's served us pretty well over the years and he's generally a decent guy, but a new page needs to be turned.
Nigga, I'm not the one who determines who gets to stay and who doesn't I am the spokesperson for the council. I say go through me because none of the others have released their skype names. So either message me if you wanna help make /m/ better or shut the fuck up and resume whatever it is you do normally. Either way, it doesn't matter to me
>implying I make tactics.
You should probably clarify when you're speaking for the council and when you're not then. Since you're their representative. If your personal opinion is shit, or you just misspeak, you're making them look like shit due to your position.
>In fact, it's mostly been a string of middling performances
Tha'ts actually worse. That's significantly more boring than glorious failures. So neither successful or entertaining.
>So either message me if you wanna help make /m/ better or shut the fuck up
What a shitty gatekeeper. If this is what the council wants as a spokeperson I'm starting to support sacking the entire lot.
It's not that hard. If I talk about the team/tactics I'm talking on behalf of the council. If it refers to matches, polls, invitationals, or possible managerial positions that's all me. Love me or hate me, I am your Sagara, so I may sound a bit dickish.
Right now we all believe that the guy pushing for a manager from /mlp/ is from the /mlp/ management as I have yet to receive a message about joining the Council.
However, we have time between cups, any rash decisions may do more harm then good. Let's cool off for a moment and regroup. I can say change is coming but we need to let the adrenaline and emotions of today wear off so we can think this through clearly and rationally.
One of the /mlp/ managers in their thread said he hasn't heard a damn thing.
>I am not aware of any of the current managers asking to join /m/. Assuming this is true and not a ruse, I honestly don't know who it could possibly be among the former managers, apart from Norml potentially.
>Right now we all believe that the guy pushing for a manager from /mlp/ is from the /mlp/ management as I have yet to receive a message about joining the Council.
It's not them. Just stop.
UC Gundam has space colonies set up around and away from the Earth. They're pretty big. Basically, every once in a while a villain will "drop (which is exactly what it sounds like) a colony onto the Earth.
>/toy/ is out of the cup now
>FLGS is kill for Winter aside from /tg/
>No meetup until Spring, and even then /tg/ might be good again and stay in the top 16 in Winter
We really need a turnaround
and to just give into the Symphospiracy and put Hibiki as a starter.
One of the Council was like "hey we did kinda well in spring, want to do a local competition" and then everyone remembered that /m/ was a fractious mess of shitposting so it got axed.
