Assuming streamfag never comes back to us, anyone else wanna do it?
My connection is really bad.
Old because it matters so much to some of you >>13449462
Let's just enjoy this happy time because it's going to be so brief. When the new season ends Fafner will just fade back into the mist in terms of discussion so for now we can just talk about it as much as we like
>When the new season ends Fafner will just fade back into the mist in terms of discussion so for now we can just talk about it as much as we like
Not to mention presumably getting depressed over future plot developments, right?
Hell fucking yeah
I just noticed, this song also has call backs to Shangri-la, thats really cool
Seri seems to be having dreams just like Kazuki.
NUNs attacking with mass-produced Funfs. Black box technology from replicating the original Funf implants portions of Hiroto's personality into them.
Also, throw in some Orihime suffering in there for good measure.
>Tatsumiya nowhere to be seen
>Sui is Ono Kensho
Wow, how did I not hear that all this time?
My dumb ex girlfriend, who hates mecha, asked me when Fafner was about to start airing "Do I need anything to watch the new season of Fafner? I want to see it because Ono Kensho will voice a character." Stupid girl.
This is the same as what the general guy was saying.
Seri learns of Hiroto's death, an that not only did Orihime know what happened, she decided to keep it from most of the islanders so they wouldn't end up in despair (in reality, she didn't want to see Seri suffer, and had no idea of how to go about it). As a bonus, she let's it slip that she knew Canon's power would end up killing her.
Seri, in tears, tells Orihime that she's definitely not Tsubaki. Tsubaki had a heart.
Orihime ends up depressed over this, the island reflecting her anguish.
Somehow, Seri ends up in a situation where her power could come in handy, but there's a high chance she'll die in the process. Orihime tries to talk her out of it, and apologizes for the way she's acted. Seri forgives her but still goes through with it.
Before dying, Seri looks at the island, saying it's beautiful.
Now now, I assume the difference is that Canon's Model assuages the assimilation phenomenon and lets you live your natural life span while Ashoka makes you it's bitch forever. I'm worried that whatever scheme Ashoka has cooked up might force anyone's who accepted to turn on our boys
Orihime > you're favorite core
The episode had some really beautiful imagery.
So when does Rina get kidnapped by an alternate version of himself on a Fafner riding a motorcycle that lives in a dimension where Festum own 99% of the dimensions wealth and Humans only get 1%.
A Festum falls in love with a girl.
Unable to confess, he is gifted by a Mir ex machina with the girl's synergetic code number. Never minding the strange pattern, he immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she is there.
But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in this universe at all. She is the girl's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the Festum's own divergent self, who too is blissfully unaware of her SDP.
Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to survive the assimilations of their other selves. While the two chase their respective counterparts, SUFFERING ensues as they begin to fall in despair with each other instead and question the NATURE of HOPE.
I think the festum is trying to make a joke at how the Exodus is muslimic in origin, but I don't think he quite grasp human humor yet, please forgive him. He should be perfectly human after a few more assimilation.
Srinigar is in fucking India
'm aware they have Muslims too, and the big biblical Exodus predates the foundation of Islam.
Festum a shit. This is why we need someone like Hester to help make Earth Great Again.
The other thread reminded me, but I've been meaning to ask /faf/ this for a while, but how do you guys like m3? I heard it's pretty similar in many ways, especially when we trove on suffering here.
OH SUCK IT ASSIMILATION FAGS
Natural or bust.
Also they did sorta have one, but he got smashed by Nicht.
It's kinda weird, maybe a little too slow at times, but it's a fairly enjoyable watch.
The "suffering" never really came through for me, but the atmosphere is really drab. Also Shitlite 3DCG
>The New United Nations has declared that the Region of /faf/ to be declared ROE Alpha.
>I repeat: The New United Nations has declared that the Region of /faf/ to be declared ROE Alpha.
Get ready to be nuked, bitches.
Please stop RPing everyone.
It leads to degeneracy. Let's wait quietly for the new episode
So, I think we can infer from the chest piece opening on the Einherjar Models when they use their SDP and Mimika's SDP barrier being powered up in the OP that the Einherjars improve the SDPs. That leads to the question of how each SDP powers up. What do people think powered up versions of say Sakura or Sui's abilities would do?
Only fanart of Ai I could find is her being what appears
to be her getting raped by a Festum
Not okay, Japan.
It'd be pretty sweet if Sui could pull Festum inside other Festum.
Bigger clones, I hope.
I think Sui's SDP is like the opposite of Rio's. He teleports faraway things closer into a set radius with himself as the nucleus. So basically if he is near enough to a festum he can teleport anything into the festum
He flew really quickly in a circle around it, and then pulled when he was opposite.
As for how the Luger Lances activated, I dunno. Don't think we've seen remote activation before.
It just werks!
>Final battle takes place near the Island
>Canon is dead, but FutureCanon is there
>Some Festum does the line
>"I was once there", looking at the island
"Now I'm here"
How hype would that be?
Part of me is terrified/hopeful that they might announce a movie at the end of Exodus like people have been saying.
>End the series on some kind of fucking giant horrifying cliffhanger like the first cour
>Announce a movie for like 2018
>MERRY FUCKING CHRISTMAS
Please be merciful Xebec.
I think the island gets tang'd, so Kazuki and some bros have to take over the ship for the movie. Captain Kenji, bridge bunny Sakura, some main pilots and Seri as the understanding character.
Wasn't Mimika's SDP that twisting ability? Just like the Festum that killed Mamoru.
In which case that huge barrier from the OP might just be a sign of how crazy-powerful the Einherjar units are.
It's a Okada series so the answer is obvious the melodrama is too fucking forced. Okada can't write an antagonist for shit that isn't stark raving batshit insane to a comical level.
They'd probably be a much better writer if they studied people once in a while.
Yeah, I like K, but even it's current OP isn't groovin with me either.
The twisting is one part of it, I think more specifically it's that she has the ability to influence energy fields. Seems like the strongest SDP in terms of versatility and power, to me at least.
>Before dying, Seri looks at the island, saying it's beautiful.
Anyone notice the series started with people calling the festum beautiful, and ends with people saying it about the island?
Best release is Philosophy Raws, but they put a decent amount of strain on your system, get the FLSnow ones if you're unsure. BDs are up all the way though Exodus 13, after that HS, or that other one that just cropped up.
BDs have retimed subs through 13, someone maybe has the mega link, for anon here?
OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE, NO.
Shouko and Momoru's name foreshadow the way they would die: "Soaring the Skies" and "Protecting your friends". Besides that and Misao's name, I'm not aware of other meaningful name.
Wall (because he protects everyone) + Ikki as in ikkitousen (phrase meaning a single warrior strong enough to take on a thousand enemies)
Everyone's Fortress + Ruler of Warriors
"Die before the hangar"
Small Shield + Protect
Look Far + True Arrow
Kouyou's is wordplay which I can't be bothered to explain, anyway most of this shit is on the wiki
Let's just take it that she loved him ok, no need to escalate the suffering of dead people.
What did the Fafner memorial book say anyway, are there scans of it?
Kenji: Close range + sword
Sakura: Foundation stone (for Kenji and Mamoru) + Sakura (as if that wasn't obvious from the imagery in the show itself)
Shouko: FRY DA SKY
Tsubaki: Tsubaki is an alternate reading of 乙姫 = Otohime of the dragon palace (Ryuuguu-jou where Ryuuguu is written the same as Tatsumiya)
Nah see Miwa's going to be fine.
Because the Fafner sequel that takes place 6-8 years after Exodus needs her and Emery alive to become pilots.
Because once the homo batteries of Soushi and Kazuki run out they're going to replace them with Lesbians
Because Walker has them in the palm of it's hand.
It doesn't need to keep attacking. It's just going to slowly whittle them down now that they can't escape.
Fuck! And so the island's ability to mitigate the radiation poisoning most of the adults have is gone is failing again.
Fafner really never fails to make us hype as all fuck, goddamn
I honestly thought Sui was a goner then and there, right after the debut of his new model too. Thank god for based festumbro Kouyo saving the day. Btw I noticed Kouyo seem to have reverse assimilation abilities like Kazuki.
It's raining men!
I think it'll be Canon though going on her Fafner returning in that battle shot in the ending. Although I could see Kurusu being in the end shot as well to bring it to 5.
>considering Fafner's homo track record.
Another thing to add to that homo record, Akira was talking to Hiroto this episode. Akira says he was talking to him via crossing (like how Kazuki talk to Soushi in the movie), but Jonathan says his crossing with Hiroto already ended, so I'm not sure if Akira is going crazy due to his homolust or if they really are in some special crossing.
What do you call death flags that surpass death flags.
I can't wait for him, before the last episode:
-Promises to marry the love of his life
-Decides to retire after the whole mess is over
-Give away his good luck charm to Maya
-His favorite handgun breaks
-Promises to build a new playground for the younger kids
-Proclaims he's invincible, and will never die
From what I remember:
-Introduced in an episode where every other soldier is killed, and since this was his first appearance, it's a miracle he didn't die saving Maya.
-Knew about Yukie's bullshit
-Becomes a substitute father to Maya
-Takes the Fafner pilots to the final battle
And that's just the stuff I remember.
Maybe if she starts toning it down, I'll give a shit, but she's been an angry bitch for all of Exodus for no reason.
Well, technically she's been an angry bitch all the way back in the first show, she was just capable of restraint back then.
I was so sure that this week Seri would bite the dust, instead we get a mariage and the return of festumbro Koyo.
Still the fact that zwölf isn't shown in the OP has me worried.... very worried
I'd say the chances of some (presumably rather limited) form of Canon return got boosted this episode.
Aside from the obvious indicator that Kenji heard her voice the return of the Vier now gives the opportunity for it to be upgraded to an Einherjar model, as seen in the ED.
I'm still not done with the episode but what the fuck? They rebuilt L boat without a dry dock or large scale manufacturing capabilities. How? How when they've been in the water ever since Alvis was first launched.
There is a difference in they also made it clear in H&E Koyou allowed his Festum core to be made into a Fafner core as he wanted to become the islands guardian, then he got trashed by Misao in his temper tantrum.
He was just a core then. Which is weird since he ended his time in season 1 with a human body that could transform into a giant Festum form. and now he has his human body form and core form back and rebuilt his fafner from nothing. I wish they had stuck with the festum body though, that was interesting and we never got to see what he could do.
There's a big difference in building fafners on land in a facility designed for that and rebuilding a part of the ship that is 25% the size of your entire island while still in the water and without a larger facility to dock to.
Don't forget he saved Soushi and Kazuki from the Mark Nicht at the end of Season 1.
People who say him saving Sui was an asspull are silly. Him saving people getting FESTUM'd has been MO since he became one.
Did they really detach the entire L boat for ROL? I just rewatched it last night and it looked incredibly small compared to what's shown in this episode, and considering the ROL crew had only 40 people, it seemed unlikely that they detached that huge of a boat. Wasn't the ROL boat just a big submarine that surfaced?
Also considering that ROL has been about 5 years earlier than the current series, I think it's safe to say thats ample time to rebuild it.
YOU ARE ALL FAGGOTS FOR NOT DISCUSSING THE MOST IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENT OF THE SERIES.
NOW THERE ARE TWO OF THEM!
They weren't. His idoru thing was new
>we never got to see what he could do.
Oh, but we will.
I liked Akira this episode, I would have slapped him after the smile thing but he's still a good character, he's what happens when you go through so much despair
Feels bad that the twins lost their bowls
Also dem troopers. There's a certain special Anon who might like this...
This was a meaty episode too.
Choked up when Sakura and Kenji finally went through with their double suicide.
Raged a little.
I like Akira, but Ai is too good for the little suirt.
They're the same L boat
So Einherjar bro >>13443127, looks like you owe me >>13443176 a coke, eh?
I'm still calling bs on it being remade underwater. Especially where the got material to make it unless they harvested other parts of the ship for it.
Hello this is streamfag,
Stream will be at the end of the season.
BRO, brah, BROYO, Broburagi
Exodus, sure. DA needs better art.
This is the best shot of Zwölfenjar
I am a little mad...
Do you think Miyu recorded some new Shouko lines before passing away
Shouko and Mamaru are totes dead. Assimilated people can most likely come back, the physical deaths aren't.
It did what other mecha seris don't ever do. Develop the world and characters.
We have enough material the enhances the first half of the original now.
RoL, The novels, the manga. Even rewatches make it better because you have a firmer grip of the entire situation.
Exodus is only so great because it had DA to work from.
DA was a mecha show that dealt with the coming of age theme in its entirety. The idea of lost innocence in Shangrila's lyrics, the whole "outside world", the synergetic code amplifying the personality change of hormonal teenagers, "becoming another person" to pilot fafner etc. The entire show has not been very subtle about its story being children growing up into adults, decorated with sci-fi and mecha elements. It worked alright and was quite popular, but what drawn people most to it was the sci fi world building, the mechs and the character drama/suffering.
Exodus however no longer needs the coming of age themes as everyone is now grown up. Thus it drops all that and ramps up all the world building and sci-fi to an 11.
Yes, but is just a small part of it. The image should clear it up. Color coded for your convenience.
The first half of DA is the quintessential "I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON THAT MAKES ME UPSET" that normal's can't handle. The kind of people who love the entire first episode to spoonfeed them the entire situation. That the battles aren't pretty and colorful enough so they don't just think THIS IS COOL. That why a teenager in a post apocalyptic society has a wardrobe like a gay biker in a house that was just him and his horny father.
>all these dead people having intermittent dialog through crossing. >Some fuccboi festum has lolRespawns
She died in October.
>tfw you've seen both DA and Exodus so many times you can pinpoint almost exactly where a random piece of dialog is.
It's not a meme. It's an opinion that several people independently came up with.
Personally I think it's wrong, and more of the voicing of that opinion is probably encouraged by the rise in split cour/S2 stuff as of late (influencing the lens through which series are watched).
For instance, a friend I introduced to the show came to the same conclusion and he had no idea about the writer swap or anything.
Good starting, very quick pacing middle, extremely hype ending.
>Suffering intensifies for Akira and Maya
>Island team has a month to make Einjerhars
>Let's get married!
>Suddenly, Einherjars are made with no time indication
>THIRD SOKYOU OPERATION
You could just say "it's a bit slow and some people don't like that", you know?
I hate how fanatical some people have become about Fafner. It's a great show, but you people need to calm down.
Both Nishio's finally got shot down on their one sided crushes with one going crazier and crazier and one acting really nice about it, Sakura and Kenji got married, Emery actually showed genuine emotion and that Yumiko's probably on a timer that's to World Tree, and Koyo a character if you told me on my first run of Fafner I'd be cheering like crazy one day for him I'd have thought you were a faggot.
I don't think that's right, considering the shape of the blue circles don't match, and I'm pretty sure that big blue circle diagram was a side view of the entire island, showing that the L boat needed to go underwater first.
I don't want to be nice to people. I don't care how they feel if they can't handle pretty and bright colors being flashed at them to keep them pacified because they're retards.
I've listened to enough people give Cross Ange, A/Z and other shows passes that I'd much rather drive people away if they're gonna act like that. You either check it out because you see people enjoy it and tell you it gets better or you go start communities on facebook to shitpost shows because you've got nothing better to do
I think we just had different definitions of "new equipment". I though you were suggesting that the Einherjars were extra armor put on directly over the Nothungs. They seem to be completely remodelled units that utilize the Nothung's internal frames and cores. I was correct when I said that their armor is completely different.
There were always two, at least according to supplementary stuff. The one Seri has must be a new unit that was built to replace the one Kazuki lost when he went to the NUNs.
I really want the Zero Fafner to assimilate one with Rina's SDP to use as a flight pack.
No I understand that, what I'm saying is that the two blue circles you have in the ROL screenshot is not the same boat. The blue circle on top is a side view of the entire island, showing that the yellow L boat needed to detach and travel downwards.
>dat H&E OST when Koyo comes home
Also, re:Asspulls. I think Kenji's SDP is the ability to manipulate the Gordian Crystals.
Notice the scene right before Kenji says "I'm not letting anyone die"
The tendrils that form into Mk.Vier start up, in the scene afterwards when Kenji says that, his Einherjar system is spooled up--which as we've seen in the episode happens when the mechs activate the SDP.
I could be wrong, but my speculah is usually on point.
You (or at least the Anon I linked) specifically said "entirely new frames", which was what I took issue with.
I guess we are both right in our own ways. Anyways, not trying to start a pissing match. Have an Ai.
Well, I stand corrected, Still, there's something off about the size.
Some interesting parallels/possible predictions regarding DA and Exodus episodes:
>Ep 19 - Maya first sorties
>Ep 20 - Koyo returns
>Ep 21 - Sakura comatoses
>Ep 22 - Mamoru dies
>Ep 18 - Maya first kills a human
>Ep 19 - Koyo returns
I hope this is just a coincidence.
I wanna clear this up. Walter, not Johnathan didn't say anything about the crossing, Akira did. Walter was just asking to clarify that Hiroto's "record had been erased"
Presumably that's a result of the crossing being cut, although we've never actually seen a lost 'built-in' crossing until Hiroto
She didn't say run. And besides there happens to be a little Aircraft Carrier out in the Northeast Pacific Ocean where she could get some nice rehab.
SHE'S FUCKING LIVING
It's because Kazuki already fucking tried this after she blew up the plane.
AND WOOPS I'M A DUMB HOMO WHO DOESN'T CARRY A GUN SORRY MAYA LOOKS LIKE YOU GOT TO SHOOT THE GUY
Maya MIGHT actually be losing her infatuation with Kazuki over this. I mean, he's a great guy, and he's nice, but he's not exactly living up to his word.
Nope. It's +75 EN, +150 Ranged and +5 accuracy
Also, the episode was neat but rushed as fuck. I hope it won't happen again. Koyo coming back was pretty shocking though
Why do you say rushed? I mean they launched an attack, it failed and they resolved not to launch another till the upgrades were ready and then we got the first half of that attack at the end of the episode, which isn't over.
I think this episode was just trying to facilitate a small time skip so that the Exodus group can actually get deeper into Festum territory.
>AND WOOPS I'M A DUMB HOMO WHO DOESN'T CARRY A GUN
Yeah, here's the weird thing.
>Let's spread word that Kazuki and Shoushi are injured and have them hide.
>But let's not give them any hidden guards or at least bulletproof vests in case something goes wrong!
>Instead let's hope for a Deus Ex Machina!
If anything it cemented her crush. Hell, the very next scene they were acting like a girl (Kazuki) getting embarrassed because a close male friend (Maya) finally noticed her new haircut. And after that she was closer to her usual self that she have been in a long while.
>Maya will NEVER pwn you at COD
>Sakura will NEVER beat you up
>Canon will NEVER quote scripture at you
>Seri will NEVER give you good luck charms
>Ai will NEVER be real
Just die in my sleep already.
( ._.) ( ;_;)
>Maya MIGHT actually be losing her infatuation with Kazuki over this.
MayAyy OTP, you know it to be true.
Interesting, I felt like the first island episode was a lot more rushed, to me t only felt like 15 minutes of airtime. This one did have the built in time-skip, but I thought it was paced fine, albeit irregularly.
There's a pretty big plot hole here...
They said upgrading the Fafners would take over a month.
They said the shield wouldn't last a month.
They said they'd leave the island in the R boat, upgrade the Fafners, then come back.
But we don't see them leave the island and suddenly the Fafners are ready without any indication of time passing.
Everything hapenned really fast. At the beginning they launch a failed attack, few moments later Kenji and Sakura get married, then Fafners are upgraded really quickly and the next battle begins. It wasnt that bad or something, but still everything seemed to happen a lot faster than in the other episodes. At least for me
It's a timeskip, friend. Also, Hazamilf clearly overworked herself to beat the "clock"
>They said they'd leave the island in the R boat, upgrade the Fafners, then come back.
They said they might
>suddenly the Fafners are ready without any indication of time passing.
Obviously not. If the Fafners were ready, obviously time elapsed.
Well, Maya and Jonathan were there.
Kazuki probably wasn't aware.
Also they did have Emery who could instantly tell Soushi if a threat was coming
Akira's the one who fucked shit up.
They worked fast. They managed to beat the clock on the generators. The Exodus plan WAS just an option they presented but chose instead to go with the Fafners. They weren't committing to it in the meeting, just making us aware it existed.
Well, shit's in high gear. The first attack failed so fast because Walker had planned this shit well. The marriage was meant to SHOW time was passing and move their characters forward while not making us stuck in the dark for an entire episode and the sortie was also meant to show time passing. It'd have been rushed if Rina had been able to take out Walker's Mir but it got away. Reminder, they've got 6 episodes left now with
To resolve everything. I don't think there really was time to show the islanders stuck inside going "Gee whiz, it's sure sad being trapped but we gotta work hard to get everything ready"
I think it was already established back in S1 that Kazuki was not loving Maya in a romantic way
Don't get me wrong, I love suffering in this series like every masochist fan out there, but I don't want to see Maya being heartbroken because of Kazuki again
Fafner has established that gay is a phase, anon, and Kazuki was never actually in a gay phase in the first place. He was just devastated over slicing his best friend's eye up and then having a hard time 'getting him' because his best friend is actually autistic, and then once he 'got him' he got kidnapped by aliums, and then when the aliums finally gave him back they were bros.
Name me one genuinely homo moment in Exodus.
That was when Kazuki was obsessed over understanding Soushi. Now Soushi's finally grown up enough to acquire social skills and wants Kazuki to confirm it one way or another, so he can either give up on Maya or give her the D.
But we are already getting some of his powers shown, he used the gundrake to shoot a worm sphere inside Walkers hand and explode it, something neither Kazuki nor Soushi managed, he is more or less like a Sein since he can overclock his Fafner with his Festum powers and has full control over the assimilation any of his companions may suffer, like Kazuki and Soushi he has no SDP he is already in a powered up state 24/7 thanks to his festum body
So, Fafner is a pretty Christian show. After all, it did kill the adulterers.
Sakura and Kenji tied the knot.
I think they'll live.
What's more is that Fumihiko specifically says that taking part in the Exodus™ Keikaku would be contingent on them NOT completing the mechs.
Just watch the episode, senpai
Not him, but check out the scene where she talks with Akira.
Furthermore, there's a tiny sense of resentment I see in Maya. Note in Episode 10 (iirc) He tells her to go back to the Island, that he'll take care of it. HEr response is more-or-less to piss off. Similar thing a few eps back.
Maya's grown up and I don't think she has the same infatuation with the Kaz anymore. Deep respect, and certainly love, but not the same.
Going back to H&E and again in Exodus she keeps telling him, "hey no need to fight" yet he still does. If anything I think she's steeling herself against something inevitably bad/existence altering, and that sorta cuts off romance.
In a sense, Kazuki has become much more arrogant than he used to be, but he's maintained his general naïveté, and I think that's something Maya has picked up on. She doesn't have super-powers and in her own words has difficulty coping with her lack of capability in comparison to Kazuki's h4x.
If you look at Kazuki in this ep's scene he comes off as detached.
"You're always up there, huh?"
As if he can't quite relate to her either. I think their discussion acknowledges that there is and has possibly been some sort of shared romantic feeling between the two, but I think it's more of a nod to how the stars never really aligned for them.
>Name me one genuinely homo moment in Exodus.
Don't really know why the homo brigade brought that up, Kazuki doesn't need to be homosexual for my comments above to hold merit.
just bros stargazing together at the beach
Seriously now, the fact that Kazuki doesn't see Maya in a romantic light doesn't need him going full homo. Maya probably still has feelings for him but I don't think Kazuki will end up with anyone at this point
This, I really hope Kazuki gets a wake up call on his arrogance.
Maya was the one who saved the camp.
Maya was the one who saved him.
Yet she's the one who he keeps trying to send away. Like he doesn't trust her or doesn't think of her as an equal.
I wouldn't even mind if she snapped at him saying he doesn't even know how to use a gun or fly a plane. That just because he can pilot the Sein doesn't make him somehow above everyone else because that's A BIT of the vibe I'm getting from Kazuki now. That without the Sein he was just "some guy who was going to die in three years who cooks" while in the Sein he's "the guy who can fight and take on everyone's burden"
If there's a reality check I hope it's when they learn Canon's gone. Like Kazuki starts getting all mopey and "I should have been the one to go" "if I was here I could have stopped this" and then Maya slaps him across the face and tells him to stop being a hypocrite and stop devaluing what Canon did
He just wants to protect her, which clashed with her will to protect him. There isn't any malice in Kazuki's intent. He just need to sit and have a proper talk with Maya. They both need to open up about what they want, instead of holding everything inside them.
I wasn't saying Kazuki had malice. I'm just saying that Kazuki does seem to be putting himself a little above everyone else. That he could have saved people where others can't. It was even back in Season 1 of Exodus. It's not intentional, it's just an innocent arrogance on his part.
I remember there was even an audio drama about him trying to keep Maya from piloting and her getting annoyed. He's being kind, but sometimes kindness is cruel.
No, her reaction was more of a "well at least one of us gets to stay the same" and a big part of her arc throughout all of the franchise is her desire to protect Kazuki's way of life. In that, she was happy she succeeded.
Anyways, I can't wait til the end of the season to see all of you people BTFO by a non-romantic end regardless of the pairing.
Look at the scene in the Mir forest. In a way it was pretty selfish considering he came on the mission to protect people and he was just gonna stop because well these Festum also need MY help. Sosuhi's dismissive reaction was pretty spot on too.
If we assume the FutureSein in Canon's vision was actually piloted by Kazuki, then the arrogance he is capable of exhibiting, as he did in that scene, is really poignant. Frightening even.
And that's precisely why they both need to talk. Maya just says "it's okay, I can still do it." which Kazuki accepts for the moment, only to reject it after the next crisis. They need to stop being idiots and talk properly like the two adults they are now.
He wouldn't have returned for some reason without Canon fixing up the path for him to be able to. Maybe he was trying to come visit the island to fight Walker, but due to Walker's massive field his teleprots were being jammed perhaps? He shows up when Walker's core is condensed, and Sui was only able to do that because of Canon's upgrade package.
Regarding the L Boat I think they have some cloacked dock somewhere, it would be incredibly dumb if they had made the whole island but did not make a facility so they could fix if something went wrong
>isn't coming back
Well, she's dead, but a piece of her will be caught up to.
Can't wait for the smug + "What took you so long?"
I mean maybe back in Japan where the boat was built, but I rather doubt it. ALVIS was designed as a one way trip. They did leave something behind the first time the island moved in DA, but that wasn't a dock.
Even so, they would need some kind of infrastructure to make repairs or to expand the land. It's ludicrous to make something that big without the ability to repair extensive damage without "docking" somewhere else.
Gee, it sure would be a shame if the Exodus group returned to the island only to find people alive but the island ravaged by Walker's assault, the people they sent back dead, Canon dead, Kenji and Sakura both back in their mechs, with Kenji pulling a triple fucking load in his, all the other pilots suffering various horrible forms of assimilation phenomenon, many of the adults having had their horrible symptoms from the constant nuclear warfare back in the early years of festum recur and damage their overall health and the fact that Walker has defused itself into the oceans so it can pretty much find them no matter what.
That's exactly the kind of pick me up Kazuki, Akira, and Maya need right now.
The only thing I thought of the first 10 eps after rewatching is not noticing the 2nd Alvis before. It's still just as bad/boring as before, it doesn't do much except kill off Shoko and Koyo, set up death flags for the other characters, and the cool Tsubaki ghost scene. But it's the worst part of the series.
Not him, but please don't use "forced suffering" as in "forced drama." All drama is forced in any medium, because the author decided to include it. So, calling one forced and another natural is stupid.
This "forced drama" meme needs to die.
NO U xDDDDDDD!!!1!
I agree the pacing was bad, but I don't really remember much suffering and I recently rewatched it. It showed some reactions of grief. It was detached, sorta like looking at it through a window, but it didn't feel forced. Also, by definition everything that happens because it was written is forced. It's a weak criticism.
I think a lot of anime watchers fail to pick up on a lot of the visual cues in series because they focus too much on reading the dialog
Er, not bad...I think erratic is a better term.
I'm also not trying to say plot isn't important, just that it's given way too much significance at the detriment of appreciating other things.
Where? As stated the novels help with Shoko's pacing if you care to read them.
You get the Introduction arc which is the first six episodes that set up the basics of the world and ends with a bang.
Then you have Koyo's arc which lasts 3 episodes and provides set up and development for several characters.
And at that point you're at the start of the "Kazuki leaves" arc and that's got no issues in my book.
The weakest arc IS Shoko's but as I've stated that's been elaborated and fleshed out in the novels with her getting more set up as the Sechs pilot what with her simulation training with Kazuki and it being noted that she adapted exceedingly well to the altered state of mind required to get the Sechs able to fly.
>As stated the novels
I'm not even that guy, but this is simply the worst defense possible.
>b-but read the manga/LN/VN it's so much better, I swear!
It's nice, but it really has nothing to do with the merits of the first 10 or so episodes---which I LIKE
>Name me one genuinely homo moment in Exodus.
Doesn't really get gayer than this.
I'm disappointed in all of you
Well, the main thing I was confused about was the mir and festum which was explained in the 2nd half of the series. So I had to rewatch it mainly for that.
The beginning episodes, just had a few issues. It jumps from place to place to make stuff like the cores looker "weirder", "more mysterious" than it is, which doesn't really work and the cores seem more mysterious after you've seen Tsubaki wake up. The deaths of Shoko and Koyo, I think are wasted since you don't get to know them. Shoko basically has no scenes between episode 1 and 6 when she dies. Neither of them had any purpose except to die.
>the worst defense possible
No, the worst defense possible is just saying it's good.
There is ACTUAL media with CONTENT that could not be incorporated into the story that fleshes out characters and the setting and it's your fault if you don't consume it because you're too lazy/don't want to.
I guess the audio dramas are garbage too and have no place being consumed as well.
I guess RoL, HaE, and Exodus shouldn't be referenced at all either because they aren't reflective of DA's quality.
If you don't like DA just drop it and jump right in to Exodus and see if you'll like it.
>I think are wasted since you don't get to know them
>Neither of them had any purpose except to die.
Wrong, they were used to develop the other other characters. It might seem a little hamfisted, but to think that you need to relate to the characters and that their deaths have to mean something to YOU, is foolish.
Look, I've watched DA at least a half dozen times. I've read just about everything I could get my hands on to boot, but that really has nothing to do with what is on the screen. It's nice that all of that exists, but it's really not a good way to argue and it doesn't "fix" the issues with the show's actual script in the actual show, especially for someone going into the series as a first timer.
