The final arc isnt the only one with D-Man references however as theres one story arc where Jack battles with punks designed after Jinmen, Sirene and Aleda, plus Shin Jack.

Essentially, Jacks just another way Devilman could go, but isnt the cannon version.

There is a cannon to devilman and its pretty tight if you know what your looking for. Devilman Shin, Lady, Saga, Ghost, In the Dark, a couple of short side stories and Neo are all part of this. Amon and Strange Days arent necessarily part of it, but it depends on the readers choice weather they choose to consider them part of the main series or not.
