Hello, /m/. I'm the same anon creating all those music threads here recently on /m/.
The other thread surprisingly (and unfortunately) got archived fast already, so I'm going to start a new one to continue from where we left off.
Anyways, the album I'd like to share today isn't /m/ related but I think you guys will enjoy it anyway.
>Pacific
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/51923954/Convertible%20to%20Yokohama%20Presents/Week%203%20-%20CBS%20Sound%20and%20Image%20Series/Pacific.rar
So a few threads ago, I shared an original album featuring music by a band called Seaside Lovers (which includes some people I've never heard of and Akira Inoue, the artist who created the music to SF Shinseiki Lensman and the SPLASH original album I uploaded), titled Memories of Beach House. I don't know much about it but apparently it seems that album was part of a series by Sony and CBS titled Sound Image Series. I found the first album of that series and I have to say, it's pretty damn good. Some tracks in it (specifically the second half of Nostalgia of Island) are perfect songs to listen to when at the beach, in my opinion.
That's about it, I guess. If you have any OSTs you have/would like to requests feel free to post it here.
For those of you who missed out:

I also have the other albums in this series, which include "New York" and "The Aegean Sea". I'll post them here sometime soon, along with the Xabungle Party TV drama album and a FLAC version of Orchestral Suite in Byston Well.
Good to know this is still continuing.
Do you happen to have the OST to Baldios?
>>13226343
I do actually, but it may take me a while to look for it. I might have deleted it by accident
>>13226044
Strange to see these albums being posted about here on /m/. I originally found these from some /mu/ sharethreads, nevertheless they're real good stuff. I've seen people refer to the genre as 'city pop', if anyone is interested in that.
>>13226044
>>13227568
Oh yeah, and that 'Pacific' album is a collaboration between Haruomi Hosono, Shigeru Suzuki and Tatsuro Yamashita. Just to let you guys know.
>>13227568
People were posting other kinds of non-/m/ albums on the other threads anyway but I don't see a problem with it.
>city pop
Do you know of any other albums of this genre? It sounds interesting.
Speaking of which, the only song in the Pacific album that truly does sound like you're in a city is Kiska. Sounds like a Gran Turismo song to me
Not sure if anybody wants me to post it here but Victor (same company that released the Crusher Joe music) also released an official piano sheet music book containing music from the Crusher Joe movie.
Does anybody want it?
>>13229040
Do want.
>>13227640
Unfortunately, not much comes to mind. Besides of aforementioned Seaside Lovers and Pacific, I only have 2 more similar albums in my music folder:
-Himiko Kikuchi - All Right
-Toshiki Kadomatsu - Sea is A Lady
I've actually seen a lot of city pop on /mu/ share threads recently. You should check their archives for those!

That confused me too, and I actually did a search earlier to see if they'd done a movie compiled of the TV series. Apparently not. But Burning Night exists, which is an interesting OVA set after the series and has the main cast in an 80s rock band!

Months ago I saw some people here interested in the Animetal The Second album.
amazon.co.jp/ANIMETAL-SECOND-二代目アニメタル/dp/B00T1WXAH8/
Yes, yes, rip never, but we're doing some group buys (the other albums have nothing to do with /m/), and if this were added to the project, $10 of shipping could be saved.
Would anybody be interested in chipping in? There's samples of all tracks in the Amazon page, and here's them playing Connect (and Marty Friedman being pretty weeb):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QtvkGKc1y8
Three people chipping in $10 each would get us all a rip of the album.

>>13278085
The music isn't that bad, but to tell you the honest truth, unless it were Disney /m/-related (not even sure if such a thing exists) it doesn't fit well on this thread...
...but in that case, then how does the album OP posted relate?
>>13278204
OP here.
I'll admit that the album I posted here to start off the thread wasn't the best one since its not /m/ like you mentioned, but I thought it'd be *somewhat* related since it was part of a series of albums that one of Akira Inoue's albums was featured in (and since akira inoue did help make music for some slightly /m/-related works I thought that would make more sense too).
Probably not the best explanation, but hopefully you get it.

For the time being, if you want the Side 1/2 tracks for my copies of the digital trip albums I own, they were posted in the Dancing Xabungle thread, I believe.
OP here.
I just discovered this, can anybody explain what it could be?
http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n157308477
So the Lensman movie OST has already been released to the internet but I found this while browsing through Yahoo Auctions JP.
It's a different vinyl version than what it should normally be.
According to VGMDB, the catalog number should normally be C28A-0347 but it's C30A-0366. I assume it's under a different label or something since the most notable difference is that it's part of something called "Maser Sound Digital Mastering"
Does anybody know that is? Is that version supposed to be a higher-quality sounding version than the regular LP release?
>>13282546
Another picture
I forgot to mention that this version isn't anywhere else on the internet. If this is truly supposed to be a higher-quality release then maybe I could buy it for a cheap price and rip it to FLAC

Maybe it's supposed to be a remastered version or something?...

My experience with Tomita is limited to that album, Firebird. and whatever tracks they used of his in the original Cosmos. The track itself is just not what I expect to hear from a cover of Night on Bald Mountain. Considering it's on Youtube, it stands to reason it has been uploaded somewhere.

>>13282546
I actually found this Lensman album on Discogs by accident: http://www.discogs.com/Akira-Inoue-Lensman-Original-Sound-Track/release/6510655
Perhaps it has a few different tracks from the other one? It seems that many anime (like Birth, for example) had multiple different OST records because there was too much music to fit on one LP, so they would put different songs on each record and then fill them out with some of the same ones.
Also I found "Lensman Sound Fantasy" on Discogs. I assume you have this one? http://www.discogs.com/Akira-Inoue-Eri-Kojima-Lensman-Sound-Fantasy/release/2123311
>>13317474
I found out already, but thanks for the info.
The "Master Sound" version is actually just supposed to be a "remastered" vinyl version of the original soundtrack (they both have the same tracks), but supposedly I heard the quality is worse than the original vinyl version...not only that, but you have to adjust your record player to properly play it. Otherwise you can damage it greatly
The Lensman Sound Fantasy is the TV OST to the Galactic Patrol Lensman show, but unfortunately it left out a bunch of tracks from the TV show. It's been uploaded already in the first thread, taken from a cassette rip posted to YT. I plan on buying a copy of this later so I can make a better rip out of it
>>13317461

I still have more to add, but here are the newest additions to the archive:
>a crapton of Yamato OSTs. the majority of them were requests from a previous thread, I think
>Baldios Music Collection: this one has 2 CDs and is in 320 kbps
>Galactic Patrol Lensman Drama CD #1
...and that's it so far
OP here again.
Xabungle Party will be released here in a bit. I've finished recording and editing all the songs in my copy of "Unreleased BGM Collection Series - Xabungle", but I'm going to wait for a bit before posting it here. Currently I'm trying to get English translations of the tracklist for it which I plan on adding to the MP3 files.

It looks like Track 10 Get It! got kind of funky though.
>>13369148

I probably shouldn't be asking this but by "funky" are you saying that the track fucked up or something?
A Dunbine CD music collection is being released near the end of this month, featuring OSTs 1-3, the OVA sequel OST, and surprisingly enough Orchestral Suite in Byston Well is being included as well. Good to see that that album is getting a CD release for the first time ever
I'll try and see if I can release my FLAC rip of that album this week after editing it.
Just finished editing the 1st side of the Dunbine orchestral album. The 2nd side came out terribly though, so I'll have to re-record that one.
Currently uploading some new OSTs to the /m/usic archive (that's the current name I gave for it so far...not the best one obviously but I think it fits)
They are:
>Dougram Complete Music File
>L-Gaim OSTs
>Dunbine OSTs
>BRAVE Remix OSTs
>Hoshizora no Believe (Live Radio Version)
>Dream Hunter Rem SPECIAL (FLAC)
>All Vifam OSTs (this includes the OSTs to Vifam 13)
I'll be uploading the Orchestral Byston Well Dunbine album soon, I just finished editing it in FLAC.
>>13375190
I've also added karaoke versions of the Gundam 0079 TV songs and the Gundam 0079 SFX album as well.

I haven't checked yet, to tell you the truth, but it's possible there could be an OST for this.
Lemme check FFShrine and and see if anybody might have it there. If not (and if there was ever an OST released), then you might have to get it yourself...sorry.
>>13381785

Is it just me or is a SHIT ton of anime music getting blocked recently? I just went through my old ass anime intro playlist & the following say they're blocked in my country.
>Aura battled Dunbine OP HD
>Heavy Metal L-GAIM Opening: "Time For L-GAIM" by MIO
>The Shining Heresy Opening Theme
That last one hits me hard. Does anyone have the Shining Herassy ost here? Flac prefferred, but it seems like we're being attacked from every direction when it comes to having archives of this extremely rare music.
Even that dancing xaabungle ost someone out on youtube got blocked.
>>13402109
It's not you. Same thing has been happening to me as well.
I tried to go onto YT today to listen to the Birth OVA OST and literally every single track aside from the ED theme got blocked.
Though, it was Victor Entertainment that got the music blocked (I believe they were the ones who actually published the music OSTs to that OVA). "elicense" is the one that seems to be blocking the other OP songs.
I'll try and get a link for Shining Heresy uploaded here.
>Dancing Xabungle
Are you sure that album got blocked?
As of now it seems that I'm the only person who uploaded that entire album on YT. I just tried viewing it and it plays just fine.
>>13402109
>>13402154
Update:
I just found out that a crapton of OSTs I had uploaded onto my YT channel (which I had also posted here on /m/) are getting blocked...
Some of the BGM OSTs (Ideon, L-Gaim, etc.) are getting blocked by "elicense" while some others are getting blocked by "columbia"...
>Digital Trip Hokuto no Ken and the karaoke Xabungle songs in "Unreleased BGM Collection Series: Xabungle" are blocked as well
This pisses me off, honestly. Both the HnK Synthesizer Fantasy album and the Xabungle Unreleased BGM album have never even been released on CD and are extremely hard to find, why on earth would they block those two?

Anyways, yeah, I can do that. The Ideon OSTs and L-Gaim OSTs have been uploaded to a separate MEGA account I made for archive purposes (search for "/m/usic" on this thread and you might find it somewhere").
I'll be sure to upload Digital Trip HnK on there (I'll upload the other Digital Trip albums that aren't my rips on that account later) and some of the Galaxy Express 999 songs I had on my YT account as well
>>13402298
Ah, yeah that was me. I had planned on using it for the twinke heart review, but that's in the past now. Would still like the ED theme in flac if anyone has it (I love the ED composer for dream hunter rem)

>Roman Trip Hi-Speed Jecy
Ripped by me in FLAC. This is another album included in the Roman Trip series, a series of albums made in the 80s by Columbia Records dedicated to making image/original albums of various Japanese novels/manga.
This is based off the manga, not the anime. Character designs of the album's front/back cover and the inlay sheets were made by the same person who did the character designs for the anime version as well.

Here's another album:
https://mega.nz/#F!70Ei2C4C!9sfMiEINl9RRcqFFwFd5yQ
>Holmes Hi-Tech
Ripped by me in FLAC. This is a remix album of the Meitantei Holmes (Sherlock Hound) TV show/short films.
Brief history for those of you who don't know what the "Hi-Tech Series" albums are:
Back in the 80s, Animage tried to compete with Columbia's "Digital Trip Synthesizer Fantasy" albums by creating a label known as "Hi-Tech Series"; like the Digital Trip albums, these albums contained synthesized remixes of already existing music from various anime shows/movies. While the Digital Trip albums also included original works of manga, the "Hi-Tech Series" albums stuck to anime only.
Unfortunately, the label died out quickly since it wasn't very well-received in Japan. As of now, the only albums in the series that have been re-released on CD were Joe Hisaishi's 80s OSTs (Arion and his Ghibli-related works), GeGeGe no Kitaro, and Magical Emi...
The following /m/ shows have a Hi-Tech album released for it but none of them have been uploaded publicly onto the internet yet:
>Orguss
>Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross
Thanks for the uploads
>>13410461
>Roman Trip Hi-Speed Jecy
Thanks, this is a cool find! I'm still amazed by how much obscure old stuff we are dredging up in these threads.
FYI, that "same person" who did the art on the album cover and the anime character designs is Haruhiko Mikimoto. :)
>>13421160
Interesting...the designs actually reminded me of Orguss, but I didn't know if the character designer of that show was the same one who did the artwork for the album

>>13319562
>>13342768
Dude, this album is awesome! It reminds me a lot of the music in Lupin III, smooth jazz with a Latin American bossa nova influence. So chill. I love how it takes these familiar Macross songs and completely transforms them. Beautiful.
It also reminds me a lot of the Uncharted Waters: New Horizons Special Edition OST by Yoko Kanno, which I'll share here because I think you guys would love it too. It's totally in this same super-chill style with exotic overseas flavors mixed in.

Do you have the Ideon soundtracks uploaded somewhere?
Yo, so much stuff has been removed, do you happen to have it all up somewhere?

Check the MEGA /m/usic archive, the Ideon OSTS are all in there

I've been trying my best to obtain whatever OSTs were taken down and uploading them to the archive, did you find any other ones that were taken down?
