Tanks thread. Post tanks, talk about tanks.
Give tanks a chance, they're mecha too.
Are hovertanks fine too. Finished reading Tank Lords a short while ago and inspired by that rediscovered Battlezone.
That's all fine and well, but can they jump?
Am I the only one who thinks tank threads on /m/ are always way too circle-jerky?
That is so silly it comes all the way around starts making sense again.
And I love every part of it.
Y'see it depends on your turret-tread ratio. I'd say that once you pass 2 main turrets to every tread you start leaving the tanks and start entering the landships. If you get past 6-8 turrets to every tread you start hitting mobile fortress territory. Of course this is only a rough guideline, and it's better to judge each potential tank on its own merits.
But tanks can be so much more retarded than planes, it's great.
You say that like its a bad thing.
I was more talking about the 800HP engine on a 32-ton tank. The Panzer IV, which that tank was pretty obviously based on, only had a 300HP power plant on it.
I'm just saying that if they made the engine a little bit bigger, that thing could probably participate in an aerial dogfight if it was so inclined.
I don't have any tank pictures, but I have a cat lady talking about tanks, so I guess it's close enough.
Anyone interested in some SV-001's?
Can we have racing tanks?
Whoever saw fit to stick those asinine tumors on top of those already-more-than-high-enough-profile-without-them turrets should've been disemboweled and his viscera used to grease the tracks.
