Is there anyone working on new subs for the show?

Maybe... if they got a local team to do the translation. G-Reco's dialogue (allegedly) has a lot of Japanese connotations that no one outside the country would understand.

But a dub would be the better option since it would force them to streamline the script. As one anon said in another thread, Tomino dialogue is often better heard.

I'm an ESL speaker like many here and it wasn't hard to understand. You might need to skip back sometimes to reread a line but that's it.

I don't know how people can like Turn A and 0079 and HATE G-Reco. They share basically all the same issues.
And if you can't make sense of G-Reco story and characters, then I don't know how you could like arcs like Will Game's or Ral's.

I mean sure, the suits go off-model quite frequently and the in-betweens leave a lot to be desired, BUT the battle choreography (i.e. what really matters) is great and holds up well today.

This. Trolls pretending to be G-reco fans flooded all of the G-Reco threads. Any time anyone voiced any form of complaint about the show, either a part of the plot they didn't think made sense or just general disapproval, there were 3-4 responding posts claiming they were simply too stupid to understand Tomino's brilliance and that they should go back to watching A/Z.

It was really tiresome.
