Yeah it's not /m/, but you asked for my favorite.

Sameface isn't fatal when it's like YASUHIKO'S AMURO AND JESUS LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME!! and not difficulty to tell people apart within one show. On top of that his artstyle is distinctive enough that people think his fat faces or closed eye corners means looking the same as this or that Gundam character when they're just drawn with the same stylistic quirks.

'Sameface', i.e. a character's design being borrowed across different works similar to an actor or actress playing a role in different films, is acceptable (to me, at least) and has been around as long as Anime has - see Astroboy creator / Mangaka Tezuka Osamu's use of the 'Star System'. I believe Yas has said he uses the 'Star System' himself, but I can't recall where I read that.

My personal complaint against the practice would be Hirai's use of 'Sameface', i.e. identical facial characteristics with only hair color and varying styles to differentiate, for multiple characters within the same show. This is what >>12448355 is parodying.

I'll be honest here, there is nothing unique about Miyazaki's artstyle because it's all a retread of the 1970's when he started working. It's only "unique" to most people because they're casuals who don't want to watch anything older than from 2000 onward.
