Yeah. That's a common thing people tend to do with popular "anime reviewers"(groups or otherwise) . That said, there's some legitimacy behind that in a few cases.

You're really pleb, all of them are mainstream, with the exception of maybe four shows. You got all your major Ghibli, Shirow, Kon and Shinkai works there.

I myself have seen at least 40 out of these, and I consider myself a pretty casual viewer.

He just loved everything he watched. I like people like that. His reviews are also amazing because who expects to see an old man hiking in the desert just to review some anime?

Seriously, the actual scores he gave stuff doesn't matter. Just go to his channel, click any of his videos, and you'll see why people like him.

Arcadia of my youth shouldn't be that high. It's good, but only as suplimentary material to the series.

I tried watching some of it before the series because it's suppose to be an origin story, & they expected you to know all these planets, factions, people etc, that you meet in the series.

Really, REALLY confused me.
