What is the best grunt suit, and why is it the GM
The only thing that comes to mind when opposing side grunt suits helped each other was in CCA
GM III is love.
Also Jegans are just souped-up GMs, right?
the desert colors make it look even better
I see, I see. Which means this lovely machine counts as one.
Th-thanks, UC episode 1.
I think the prototype looks better
Except you do die. You so totally die that you're a forgotten historical footnote in Late UC. Zanscare had more of a lasting impact than you.
He still got beaten by like, the worst main Gundam pilot in the history of like Main Gundam pilots. Bernie is the last person Zeon should use as a poster boy, I mean when you have Gato, Char, Ridden, Norris...YOU PICK BERNIE? YOU MIGHT AS WELL POST A BIG MAC!
>Zanscare had more of a lasting impact than you.
How many Zanscare remnants are there again? What about Titans remnants?
Nobody cared enough about those to bother keep on fighting for them. Only Zeon had strong enough ideals for that.
Late UC probably wouldn't even exist without Zeon's fight.
I've played Gundam Online. Alex is hax. Even a bad pilot can be a hero with it. Bernie did well to hold his own against it for as long as he did. The decoys and smokescreen trick was pure genius.
It wouldn't have worked on a Newtype though.
"Zeon's ideals aren't worth a single porcelain vase."
-Zeon High Command General M'quve, after being ordered by Ghiren Zabi to raze every Earth civillian population centre under Zeonic control to the ground
BB Senshi/HG/RD/Converge/anything when?
>but I won't post my opinion, someone might post a picture of anime characters laughing at ME
And why is it that /m/ can only remember Jims and Socks?
>not knowing Al and Bernie
That's a vote for Zaku II Kai, anon.
Oh, okay. Welcome to the fanbase, anon. This is what an MS-06FZ Zaku II Kai looks like. It's one of only two grunt suits to ever kill a Gundam (the other being SVMS-01O Overflag).
Spacenoids 1000 years after the end of UC worship Zanscare as the True Saviour. Zeon has been forgotten as the False Prophet it truly was.
>dem tracks doe
>niggas try to be the king but the ace is back
>people don't embrace the Queen as the true savior
Jimmy doesn't need a Gundam to kick your useless cannon fodder ass, Zeek.
Gunblaster is the GOAT grunt. It's name is "Gunblaster" for fucks sake.
Cold Districts is best GM
DSSD Civilian Astray is one of the best grunts, if it didn't have that silly setup on it's back it'd be the best hands down.
I need to re-watch Stargazer to confirm the DSSD and Murasame but the Hound was not a 1v1 like FZ Kai vs NT-1.
Aso it's not as if Graham actually detroyed Throne Eins. Overflag is an ace custom grunt which forced a Gundam to flee. The NT-1 's pilot was pulled unconscious from the cockpit of her wrecked Gundam after fighting a field-repaired grunt. Bernie may have died in the process, but he did wreck a highly superior unit by himself with a basic grunt.
That's no Cold Districts, man. It's a variant of the GM Command, the one for ground combat iirc from Gihren's Greed (there's a red one for space use with something resembling a paint gun).
Cold Districts has something resembling a submachinegun with a grenade launcher attached.
GN Flag is pretty far removed from "grunt suit" though. At that point it's one-of-a-kind super-custom.
No disrespect to Graham, he's a badass normal on par with Garrod and Asemu, but GN Flag was made to be a Gundam-killer, not a grunt suit.
That was because the pilots were very inexperienced (weren't they fighter pilots that went through simulators?). It was their first real sortie in Metal Armors and were fighting veterans. Given more time, the Dragoons would have proven their worth in the show.
Like I said more power to you Anon. I just think the general look is off, and that Bubble head is odd. Though good point in the other post about the faceless aspect, but not my cup of tea.
is it a grunt mech though?
would the Fubuki be closer to being "grunt"?
>Welcome to the fanbase
mostly accurateas that statement is, you've got your head pretty firmly in your ass to ascertain that from someone posting a current-series design.
Zoloats are pretty neat, though I have to admit, I think the main reason I like them is because they sorta/kinda resemble Space Marines.
It wasn't just that, but also your not recgnizing Al and Bernie. Not to dis G-Reco, but the Grimoire is new and hasn't had an opportunity to really show off at all. I guessed that you have not seen the great dispays of awesomeness from the RB-79k, the Flags, Heero's Leo, Athrun's ZAKU, etc because you picked a grunt that hasn't had any non-grunt moments, that's all.
Oh, and about the two laughing characters:
0080: War in the Pocket (an excellent six-epidode mini)
Al (the kid) lived in a neutral colony and when he ses his first mobile suit ever (a Zaku II Kai) he becomes enamored with it and it's pilot (Bernie, the driver in the pic) and is pretty much the poster-child for "Zakus are cooler than GM's" so that was a big tip-off that you're new to the franchise.
Not that there's anything wrong with being new, we were all new once. I really did mean it when I said "welcome to the fanbase".
No, they signed Side 3 over to Haman, not the Earthsphere. Rewatch episode 33, time index 14:45. Bright complains to EF politicians that giving Side 3 to Haman will only encourage Neo Zeon to continue fighting, while the bigwigs say Haman promised them peace if the Federation agreed to the treaty's conditions of giving her Side 3. Of course, Bright was right - Haman turns Side 3 into her base of operations and would have continued her plans, except for the Neo Zeon civil war interrupting it.
Trivia: Char pulls the same retarded deal in CCA. He tells the Federation that his Neo Zeon will stop fighting if the Federation gives them Axis, and Char's Neo Zeon just uses it to finish their war.
I don't see how that's cheating.
Well, they do get a statue of the Zeon Mobile Suits in the Regild Century. And they do dig up Zakus... I mean, Borjarnons... in the Correct Century. Relics of Zeon live on, even if their purpose didn't!
Your dickish sarcasm is duly noted. I plan on painting it white. Don't assume that I'm gonna be lazy because I like the white version better.
Green is fine and I like its homage to the Zaku, but white is more versatile and is easier to customize. Call it bland, but that would be a good selling point, a blank slate to color and customize as you see fit.
Sorry, my comment and the gif weren't really meant to be linked together like that. I was more or less making fun of the person I quoted with the gif.
I'd like to actually make an amendment to what I said. Cold Districts and Semi-Striker are best GMs.
And Cold Districts has a side-loading mag bullpup machine gun, you're right.
Thanks to a lot of games, GMs are getting a lot more diverse. Its nice, there's more than GM, Command, and Ground. We got GM Strikers, GM Guards Types, Armor Enhanced GMs
>point defense barrier
Pretty normal. Gundam has I-fields.
>weapons more powerful than nukes
What? Reaction missiles and MDE missiles? The standard gatling gun, apart from the MDE enhancement, is pretty normal.
>can withstand absurd Gs
Logical progression of technology. Just compare the amount of Gs our modern planes can take with the amount of Gs a WWII monoplane can take. Better materials and design goes a long way to making planes withstand Gs.
Which only work against particles and are very rarely used. Along with the anti beam field which was employed even more rarely.
>Logical progression of technology
That doesn't apply to the most frail part of every goddamn plane - the pilot. And WW1 planes couldn't pull absurd Gs solely because of the fact they can't reach the necessary speeds. They're also much more agile than modern fighters.
And let's not forget about "listen to muh song".
The Genoace's bubblehead is so cute. I really love the Feddie grunts in AGE.
>are very rarely used
Same for the PPB on VFs, they don't really use it because they dodge. They use it when they have to take a hit, like Ozma when he took a hit for the Quarter. Besides, the shit they face in Macross have pretty dang good weapons if they can take down VFs.
Inertial dampers. And some logical conclusions we can come to.
The VFs, as of Frontier, have thrust-weight ratios of over 40. They won't be using their engines at max thrust in combat, because it's just impractical(imagine SR-71s dogfighting at max speed). They can fly at what? 20% thrust? And still easily escape a planet's gravity well. They can keep to low thrust and still be able to fight easily, and then the inertial dampers kick in.
>inertial dampers that make stupidly high G tame
>thrust-weight ratios of over 40
Totally not borderline super robot tech.
>imagine SR-71s dogfighting at max speed
SR-71s can't do that on the virtue of being unarmed. Also there's a thing called "boom and zoom", you should be familiar with it.
Does Ideon count? I'm pretty sure the effects of Gs are shown when they use the Ide machines individually. Or what about any sudden change of direction due to concussions/ballistic weapons hitting?
I know what's boom and zoom.
But in the case of the VFs, it's illogical for them to be using more than a quarter of what the engine can do, because it's just not practical when you're trying to dogfight, it's like if SR-71s had guns and pilots dogfight with them while flying at max speed.
Where's the stupidly high G when you're using only 10% of the max thrust of the engines? Thrust-weight ratio of about 4, still enough to have a good acceleration, with some dampening from the inertial dampers, manageable for a pilot, probably feels like flying a F-15 or something.
5% of the max thrust? Thrust-weight ratio of about 2, pretty close to modern fighters, and dampening from dampers, probably feels like flying a WWII plane.
The only time we see VF pilots experiencing the effects of Gs is when they're flying against enemies that actually require the use of higher thrust/fancy maneuvers, Ghosts, enemy aces, cyborg pilots(eg: Brera), outrunning/dodging missiles.
