Same here. Unlike other MAs that raped the battlefield, the Neo Zeong barely did anything.
The Black Forest's Maus, meanwhile, only had to graze an Oarai tank to leave it out of commission. And the protagonists didn't even intervene in that battle.

The thing is, if they don't take it out, the enemy effectively have the town under their control, remember, the Maus doesn't need to hit them to take them out. They can get out of there, but the rest of the enemy are out there.
You can facehug the sides, but that won't stop the enemies that are closing in on them.

Watching GuP for historically OCD accurate tanks only leads to disappointment.

GuP however has the distinction of "movie accurate" tanks, where it's realistic enough that tankers will still recognize it as real, while taking enough liberties with them to still be endlessly entertaining.

GuP is also the only anime that not only puts WW2 tanks in the spotlight, but also give them love and attention unlike in most shows that show tanks as mere cannon fodder. All the while, the series has better choreographed and uniquely composed tank battles that put the speedlines, stock footage and still pans of many mecha "action" sequences to shame.

I fully acknowledge that's a common trend in the industry, but if you watch Girls und Panzer, you'll find it's a good-hearted romp about friends learning to tank. There are episodes dedicated to the character side of things, but it's all pretty standard fare, not pedophile-pandering at all. Download it and give it a few episodes, you'll see its heart is in the right place.

The OVAs where they hang out in swimsuits are pretty questionable though.

What we hear isn't real german, but in-universe is supposed to kill you if you get it.
