This only really started with the end of the Getter Robo Go manga and it doesn't help that the manga continuity will be unfinished forever. It probably would've continued to raise more questions than answers anyway.

Though I do feel like the manga answers the big questions. Getter rays are an energy with a will of its own that drives evolution and has chosen humanity to carry out its wishes, which involve consuming the universe (and the multiverse) into the ultimate being of Getter Emperor.

In the end Getter Robo is a cosmic horror story with humanity as the bad guys.

A more optimistic reading would be that becoming one with the Getter rays means reaching total enlightenment and Getter Emperor and its fleet are spreading that to the rest of the cosmos like some kind of Buddhist crusade.

The OVAs all leave things a lot more ambiguous except for SvN which is just a straight up "fuck dinosaurs" story with nothing confusing about it.

Nope, every other intelligent race is complete shit and act like total assholes even amongst themselves. Humans were picked by the Getter rays (and subsequently the Emperor) for a reason.

On top of that, everyone absorbed into the rays retains their individuality, so there's no reason to be fearful of that inevitability either. The Andromeda Country bug people are panicky douchebags willing to undo all of space time with time travel shenanigans just to save themselves.

Another question: when did Getter 3 (any version) get stretchy arms? I want to say they were added for Armageddon first, but I'm not certain.

That's the worrying thing. We never get any confirmation as to what the hell happened to Galaxy City.

Either the rest of the Galaxy fleet is off chilling somewhere, or Grace's group lured the Galaxy fleet into a Vajra attack and then abandoned it by fleeing with Battle Galaxy, dooming all of the civilians to their deaths.

The latter would mean the wholesale slaughter of millions for a relatively minor step of their plan, but the former is concerning because it means that elements of the Galaxy plan could still be out there. Grace was defeated, but the group that supported her could easily still be operating in the shadows, looking to re-consolidate their power under a new name.

Only the Efreet Custom and its EXAM system count. The standard Efreet is just another prototype ground use MS that ended up being passed over in favor of the Dom.

Not unless you mean it's a generic anime powerup. The EXAM system forces an enslaved newtype soul to aid the pilot. The tortured soul can go berserk and move the MS by itself. It's meant to give oldtype pilots abilities that are comparable to newtypes.

NT-D is a system where the Unicorn Gundam's full specs are allowed to be used (100% performance is not available by default), the user has to be a newtype. The pilot is strapped in and can control the RX-0 completely by mental thought. However, there are later events where during NT-D the user can also operate the controls by hand. The NT-D mode puts a strain on the pilot's mind, the system also injects some drugs into the user via the seat restraints and the special RX-0 pilot suit to assist with handling the increased mental load. NT-D also has various metaphysical abilities such as overriding and controlling enemy funnels, projecting psycho-fields, and disabling enemies by merely waving its arm at them. The novel apparently also has the RX-0 capturing the essence of people dying nearby.

The unit in the Unicorn OVA is the Efreet Schneid, whose story before Unicorn is told in the Gundam Missing Link video game. They've been holding onto it and had it hidden for years after the unit was originally assigned to them in the OYW.

In the Gundam 0081 game the Feds have a captured Efreet Nacht, but while rare it's not that powerful. Various Gundams already exceed its performance. The Schneid is only equal to a GM II in performance.

Just a few minutes of extra well animated mecha porn with no dialogue or outright spoken conclusion. lo escapes from his captivity completely naked and rescues his allies also being held prisoner, Daryls limbs prove to be to unresponsive to be functional in a battle and he starts to come to horrifying revelation of how screwed he is for the rest of his life. At the end, the Earth Federation discovers a production facility for Zeongs at the Granada development labs.
