It's definitely up there, but it isn't Adventure or Tamers. Even ignoring Young Hunters though, it has its own issues like unclear power levels, and lack of development of the human characters (except Kiriha). Shoutmon was a bro though.

The whole combination gimmick meant that the cast was enormous by necessity, but even beyond necessity, there were a fuckload of superfluous Digimon. Like what was Bastemon's contribution? or Cutemon's? Hell, even Mervamon seemed pretty pointless. And let's not forget how many Digimon just kinda sat there saying nothing because they were just there for combination fodder (Ballistamon, the Starmons, everyone on Kiriha's team that wasn't Greymon), and of course, how Zenjirou and Akari were so pointless that the second season just got rid of them entirely. Even the villain cast seemed too big. We didn't need Blastmon or Lilithmon after their first appearances

Young Hunters was supposed to be it's own show. It was generally bad but it had an awesome moment.

That's one of the things I loved about it. Digimon has a habit of leveling the appearing Digimon whether they are protagonists, antagonists, or background characters. It also follows a strict power ranking where a Champion can't beat an Ultimate and an Ultimate can't beat a Mega. The only other time I remember a Digimon appearing "out of order" or fighting above it's league was Andromon in Adventure. An Ultimate Digimon who first appeared during the Devimon arc and later returned near the end where he held back Piedmon who was crazy overpowered. I loved that as a kid. As for the characters, they were alright as is except for Nene who was a walking corpse.

True but they didn't appear much. Kamemon, the fuzzy bear warrior, Shoutmon's entire village, they all were in Taiki's pocket and rarely came out or spoke. Though that's a pity in Lillymon's case because she could had been eyecandy and an Ultimate combatant.

Personally I don't much mind characters being in the background doing nothing. What I do mind is the Autobot Army syndrome where you have a huge number of unimportant characters to sell and you have to give them a day in the spotlight before they fade back to obscurity.

Zenjirou was a fun character with a mix of skill and goofiness. He was an able tinkerer who fought other Digimon occassionally and tried to act like an in-charge guy, but at the same time he was a fool in love and got into arguements with other Digimon. As for Akari, she was the caring token girl with a temper. Yeah, there isn't much of a point having her around after Nene becomes a regular.

The Federation has the power of a decided conclusion on their side. No matter what Zeon does in subsequent material, they will always win.

Except in Gihren's Greed.

Nips sure hate the Federation or something, other than one Gundam per material Feds never get any kills, and Zeon no name aces kill hordes of Feds. Its getting so bad there are games about betraying the Federation and joining the side that's all about genocide.

That's because the feddies are the US in WW2 while Zeon is the grorious Imperial Japan. With all of the muh samurai and nippon strong values that nips love so much.

G Gundam is fun and entertaining cus its over the top and splits from war. Each gundam and fighter is pretty funny and enjoyable. Design wise thr gundams are pretty low tier but then again its an old series. Theres no deep story or meaning to this series, its just a fun series.

I would like to have Mu not be a Newtype, so we have a featured ace pilot character who isn't a genetically-superior superman. Him being a natural superman instead of an artificial one doesn't undercut the theme of "both Naturals and Coordinators matter to the future of mankind" any less. So just have his making the impossible possible be because of being a really skilled and experienced pilot. It makes sense with his backstory, too. Why did Al Da Flaga think that Mu was a disappointment and want a clone instead? Because Mu didn't inherit his father's powers, but an exact genetic duplicate could. The only thing you lose from this change is that Mu can no longer Newtype Flash when Rau is about to show up, but you could still justify something similar. Like Rau's so bloodthirsty that he's always projecting this oppressive aura, but Mu's used to it by now and all it does is give his presence away to him.

Mwu's not a "genetically-superior superman", he's just a natural who happens to carry the genes for being a newtype. He wasn't artificially created, Rau is the one who was created and modified, as a clone of Al Da Flaga.

That already is his character. He's the veteran pilot who has been fighting since at least the beginning of the war.

That's stupid. Nothing's changed since Mwu can still sense Rau, saying that Mwu can sense his bloodlust is silly. For one, Rau isn't actually bloodthirsty until the very end of the series. Rau is initially a very calm and calculating person. You would have to rewrite it so that Rau is murderous and bloodthirsty from the beginning if you want to sell the idea that Rau exudes a killer intent that Mwu can feel.

Second, newtypes sensing each other hasn't just been a psychic thing either, but also emotional. Amuro is momentarily stunned when he senses Dozle's angry spirit. Haman cowers in fear from sensing Judau's rage. Quess freaks out sensing the pain of dying people on the battlefield.
