I wonder why it was impossible to organize mass production of these armored hovercraft instead of a hefty and bulky "Dom"?
>>14558711
>Ms-07h8
Standard Weight
61.5 metric tons
>MS-09B Dom
Standard Weight
62.6 metric tons
It's not that different.
Dom mass production was already underway before these things rolled out.
They probably used the Gouf as the base model for flight capable mobile suit experiments, since they were the odd machines out.
>>14558711
Because Gouf flight-types are shit and were not an effective experiment
This has to be one of the most impractical Gundams in existence. Forget hooker heels, this dude is rocking damn twigs as legs. Also why do people praise this suit like it's the best thing after sliced bread? The head looks like a damn watermelon ET bobble head.
>>14558585
Apparently people have things called opinions and can like different things, including twig legs that are adapted to a zero g environment and blockier designs more reminiscent of a space craft than a person.
>>14558585
Because she's cute and u're a fgt.
This. >>14558607
Fuck off, OP
So I came across this and I was wondering how exactly the idiots at Harmony Gold would butcher this. For instance, name changes or loads of exposition from a relentless narrator. I wanna hear your ideas just for a good laugh.
>>14558166
I honestly don't know what people think that HG is trying to appropriate later Macross shows. Robotech has a completely different story line which shows like Macross F and Delta just wouldn't fit in.
Fold quarts are "crystallized protoculture" maybe? Cut out the singing entirely, have characters experience boosting because the crystallized protoculture fuel necklace, responds to the pilots blood lust and enhances his abilities.
Replace "Lady M" with "Admiral Hunter".
felt that /m/ doesn't get enough storytimes, so I'm going to share what I feel is one of the best comics of the last couple of years, with Art from Tom Scioli, and writing from collaboration between him and John Barber, I present The Transformers VS G.I. Joe
>>14557896
please support this storytime by giving the occasional post to both bump it and show that people are reading it, also please don't post images, as I need all the image slots I can for this

I'm on Episode 23 with pic related right now, and it's pretty great so far.

JIIIIROOON AMOS-DA!
HAYATE NO YOOO NIIIII
Xabungle is mostly good from what I've seen because Tomino harnesses his weirdest most autistic side for comedy, there's a bunch of fun animation & drawings and it has a good adventurous atmosphere but there were parts I felt the autism got too bad & took me out of the experience.
I also wish the main mech design was better, the humans look 100x better than it. Cool Cool Bye is not remotely memorable in terms of story but is fun to watch just to see a quick OVA with designs by the same guy.
Still fun though, I really gotta pick it up again and finish it one dya.
It could have been a stirring statement on the problems of an impotent worldwide authority devoted to pacifism, Capital Tower as an organization has a lot in common with the Brussels prototype for a one-world government, and aspects of both the UN and EU, including its natural ineptitude and inability to stop conflict between Earth's nations, the effeminate nature of its military and culture, the perpetually outraged minority groups that nobody is actually oppressing, and flaccid nature of its religious authorities. Ameria was pushing their shit in and only having a supermech literally fall from the sky stopped Ameria's Grimoires from dropping a steaming turd all over their chests when they were trying to use Rectens as a self-defense force. Their eagerness to promote an unstable Muslim-equivalent and give him a supermech of his own is a plan straight from the mind of Angela Merkel herself.
However, Tomino dropped the ball. Ameria is shown to be "wrong" for warmongering, Klim Nick undemocratically seizes power via patricide, and the show ends with an unambiguously pro-illegal-immigration message. Forget the whole conflict, we were all just being silly billies fighting over nothing! Everyone can live on Earth, there's plenty of room, no problem! There won't be any new conflicts that arise from this, everyone just died for nothing! The nature of G-Reco is best shown through Bellri, a degenerate who wants to fuck his own sister, has the strongest mech in the show, and at the end throws away his birthright and all responsibilities to wander around the world as a dirty hippy vagabond without a care in the world for the inevitable Kuntala Revolution.
dont care

Pic is related to his next project.
He seems like one of the few mecha directors from the 80s who is still always busy working on something
>>14556180
He's also one of the shittiest one of them. All the best Macross titles, including the original, are not directed by him.
>>14556085
>whole interview talks about Arjuna
So, this new show is going to be Kawamori's new radical left-wing hippie soapbox? Can't waitto shit on it.
Choriki Sentai Ohranger dvd cover released.
This is honestly, the better one. It has the Ranger suits (like Kakuranger) but shows the actors (Zyuranger and Dairanger) to show that there is similarities between Power Rangers, but there is a clear difference.
>>14555340
>but shows the actors to show that there is similarities between Power Rangers, but there is a clear difference.
Come again?
>>14555345
People can tell from this DVD cover that it has something to do with Power Rangers, but can also tell that it is not actually Power Rangers. It's a good compromise between the Zyuranger/Dairanger covers, which looked like they were completely unrelated, and the Kakuranger covers, which might as well have been Power Ranger DVDs to the general public.
>>14555345
the casual audience that just roams dvds, you know those that don't know Sentai, but doesn't know much about power rangers...their eyes sees the power rangers suits (ie, Zeo suits) but notices there is a severe lack of Tommy. A contradiction to their own memories, which then would cause them to look the dvd over.
It's the same process as when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came out in 1984 comic shops
>Teenage Mutant Ninja
Such a casual thing that all comics were doing at the time
>Turtles
What the fuck?
>99% of the people here use it as their main source for Gundam info
>>14555236
Still waiting for the day his "1/100 Bawoo is REAL" gets disproved so he gets offically discredited.
>>14555236
considering how biased and nuts the ANN staff can get are you surprised?
>>14555250
that has already happened multiple times, guy literally can't even read katakana
Brilliant genius?
Tryhard shitter?
A little bit of both?
He's a bit hit or miss, but overall I'd say he's my favorite Gundam designer since the 80s just for how creative he is in comparison with the likes of Ebikawa and modern Okawara.
>>14555199
I really like his stuff, both the designs themselves and his artsyle in general. I feel you can tell he's having a lot of fun with his designs too, theyre all packed with little gimmicks.I'd like to see him do some mech design on something that isn't gundam soon though.
also thats an akiman drawing you posted. I think there was an interview that mentioned that the grimoire was a collab of sorts. I imagine this is the stage ippei got it too before akiman made his adjustments
>>14555313
Yeah, I was looking for that one and couldn't find it. I prefer it because I hate the booster titties the final design Grimoire has for knees and prefer the blockier Jahannam-type gun(which looks kinda shit on the Jahannam but great on the Grimoire).
There's some Ippei designs I don't like, because they are too "out there" or simply ugly like the Gaitrash. But overall his designs are incredibly creative and make great use of silhouettes, and have a ton of personality in the head shapes, the use of angles and curves, etc.
Is GANTZ /m/?
>>14554771
later on in the manga yes
>>14554771
some of it but not all of it.
>>14554771
Nah, /a/
Since we've outed Matsumoto as the biggest manga hack, who's the biggest anime hack?
Also Matsumoto
He's not a hack at all, but mecha fanbabies are so blinded by their obsession with Patlabor they can't accept someone doing something slightly different from the tone of the main series.
>>14553749
I used to think Oshii was a hack, but then I read his interviews and realized he was a pretty cool guy. His opinions about others in the anime industry like Miyazaki and Anno are 100% spot-on as well.
U jelly poorfags?
>>14553693
nah, I can just go to Gamestop if I want to buy overpriced gundams and show how much money I have
>thanks derringer you motherfucker now every fucking store thinks they can become yodabashi camera and sell gundamooo
>in b4 they failllllll
>>14553693
no but you'd be if i showed u what I got
>>14553790
