Tunasima Sirouhad done it again, looks like the first chapter of the new series is fill with rape and evil rapist

So I just started King Gainer. Having a little bit of trouble piecing the story together.
Why is the Siberian Railways attacking people part of this "Exodus"?
>>14635795
The railway basically controls everything. If people get off the line they lose taxes
>>14635809
Ah, that's along the lines of what I was thinking. Thanks.
>>14636274
The funny part is, they'll only attack the Exoduses until the point when they finish their journey - at which point they immediately reestablish relations. Because money.
Is there a name for the sub-genre of /m/ where instead of robotics, everything is or looks organic? I know bio-punk is a thing, but there seems to be enough of it in anime and toku that there would be a name for it. Stuff like Guyver, Shin Kamen Rider, and a lot of Keita Amemiya's stuff and a few things I found that Kazuhiko Shimamoto made. A lot of villains look like this in everything too. I suppose Devilman is kinda like this too, where he is a superhero monster. No real suits involved.
I wish I had more examples but that's kinda why I'm asking. I'm looking for more stuff where instead of purely robotic suits, they're either techn-organic, or pretty much just monsters.
Maybe not /m/ since I'm interested in organics, but it feels like it'd be /m/'s jam.
>>14635502
Garo might be something you'd be interested in.
>>14635514
Amemiya worked on it so I've been aware of it but it didn't look like the rest of his stuff. Will look more into it.
Go for the classics first
The following quote by U.S. astronaut Edgar Mitchell is a great place to start:
"There was a startling recognition that the nature of the universe was not as I had been taught… I not only saw the connectedness, I felt it.… I was overwhelmed with the sensation of physically and mentally extending out into the cosmos. I realized that this was a biological response of my brain attempting to reorganize and give meaning to information about the wonderful and awesome processes that I was privileged to view."
He goes on to say later:
”I was overwhelmed with the sensation of physically and mentally extending out into the cosmos. The restraints and boundaries of flesh and bone fell away.”
What Edgar Mitchell was experiencing is often referred to as The Overview Effect, and it is a common experience among astronauts that has been studied and recorded throughout the history of spaceflight. Yoshiyuki Tomino, with his use of O'Neill Cylinders for the space colonies shown in the Universal Century, without a doubt followed the early exploration of space closely and modeled the "Newtype experience" on the feelings reported by these astronauts.

The first time I saw Lalah, I thought she was blind, I didn't realize she wasn't blind for an episode or two.
>>14635511
The entire time Amuro met Lalah was weird and between the bird mysteriously dying, her acting like an escaped mental patient, and Amuro's confusion over all this it astounds me on how big a Helen of Troy this bitch ended up being for the most pointless of reasons imaginable.

Me too
Metal Peel-off Effect is my favorite moment in anime and I'm not even joking. It's fucking euphoric.
Would you say scenes that featured it gave the movieweight?

How does Define stack up to The Origin? Origin was pretty baller and I'm hungry for more, but I'm wary because Define has a different author. I get why that is, but I want opinions before looking for scans.
>>14634788
It's fine. Don't be a babby. It's nothing to worry about.
>>14634804
Cool. I'll read then, thanks.
Wait, it's translated?
I saw the show pretty recently and loved it.
Does anybody have a link for the Comixology rips of the manga from a while ago?
Is the live-action stuff any good?
The manga is on Madokami. The anime is actually better from what I've seen of the manga since it's drawn better; as far as I know the manga is drawn mostly (or entirely?) by Ishinomori's assistants and thus is not as well drawn as stuff like Cyborg 009 or Sabu & Ichi. At least visually, I dunno if the anime changed anything but I kinda doubt it.
I've heard the live action is very different in tone (less serious) and by the small clips I've seen that seems to be the case.
Ishinomori-written Kikaider feels to me like the "dark and edgy" Astro Boy that Tezuka was temporarily forced by an editor into doing and hated, except done honestly.
>>14634635
>Is the live-action stuff any good?
live action is a live action show of its day
I got bootlegs of the Hawaiian subs and enjoyed it a lot, but I like a lot of the old stuff.

Is Gundam Unicorn considered officially canon in UC timeline, /m/?
Why wouldn't it?

Is it really so hard for non-retarded people to understand a coherent timeline of events?

Well considering there are people who STILL don't understand G-reco...

***READ THE GUIDE***
For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions, as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here!
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, don't make the new people worry!
>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

OK last topic ended with good question(is HG Neo Zeong worth the price), but I will change it.
PG Unicorn or HG Neo Zeong?
I wonder how many /m/en are /k/ommandos as well.

This is fantastic. A robot with PTSD flashbacks. We get to see Reinhardt in the Omnic Crisis. Not a line of dialogue. This is really great storytelling.ef bastion players though, seriously. fricking noob howitzer
Haven't seen one of these in a while. Or ever? Who knows! Let's talk /m/en! Is anyone up to date with the Japanese releases? I can't find any info about the post-GTM episodes anywhere, no summaries nothing, nor where they fit in the original chronology/structure (is it Act 3? Is it still the Majestic Stand?)
Also, does anyone know if the Reboot tankoubon have retconned the names to their post-Gothicmade version?
>>14633968
There's been plenty FSS threads.
Where on Earth have you been?
So I've never read the Manga of FSS, but I've seen the movie and I really like the mecha designs of this and Gothicmade. Is there a way to get into the manga? I always hear about how nonexistent the translation is and how the series is still being made or something like that. What's the deal with the printed series.
>>14634123
Locked up in a library doing a dissertation, my friend, but I looked for a thread in the first two pages and couldn't find one so I thought it'd be a good plan to have another general.
Is there a good central source of info on FSS in English these days, with the Gears Online forums dead and that website looking abandoned?
>>14634142
Not officially, the English manga is long out of print. There's scans floating around of varying quality (they're not great for reading on a tablet because the English edition had huge books with small font).
As far as I can tell, your best bet is doing what I did: get the Italian version. They're cheap (7.50 Euro each compared to the astronomic prices of the English editions). Of course if you don't speak Italian, it's just scanlations for you.
