Recently I've been thinking a lot about 00. Especially the movie.
While I actually enjoyed the movie quite a lot, I can't help but think the film might have been improved if Setsuna died at the end during his contact with the ELS.
Setsuna's first contact and spread of UNDERSTANDING to the ELS, being a final gift to humanity, as well as atonement for his crimes as a member of Celestial Being.
The ELS Setsuna at the end could even have been the ELS taking a familiar and non-threatening form in order to both apologize to and thank Marina (the ELS having killed Setsuna by assimilating him), sort of a living will.
Either way, this is just a thought.
All I know is that I would have cried hard if that did happen. So I'm sort of glad it didn't.

I shed whimpy girly tears when Andrei TRANS-AMed the giant ELS probe, and that fade in of Sergei and the mother came up.
I don't think I could handle Setsuna kicking the bucket too.
So basically yes. I think it would have been a good idea too.
>>14638715
>Crying that Sergei's shitty son blew him self up on a chunk of metalYeah no, I felt for him too.

It would've been the first Gundam protag to die since CCA at least.
Would have been a really nice parallel.
I've got a simple question for you /m/. Why don't people like Space anymore?
I've always found space to be fascinating, and while I understand that the interest in Space during the cold war was due to the US vs THEM mentality, but still it's like no one cares.
I mean not too long ago the news that humanity somehow managed to land a fucking satellite on an comet went largely over people's heads, except for the fact that one of the scientists on the team was wearing an apparently "sexist" shirt.

We had Interstellar, and maybe the recent Star Trek movies and the upcoming series can do something for us. What other pro-space Hollywood movies have their been, I feel like I'm forgetting something.

The Martian was great. Best movie I've seen in a while.

Gravity
After my many years of coming to 4chan I have finally come to the conclusion that everything, and I mean absolutely everything, can be improved by the inclusion of either of these three things.
1.) Giant Mechs
2.) Fist of the North Star references
3.) Eurobeat
If you feel otherwise, stand up to the plate and tell me why you are so foolish to think otherwise.

Good ibuning.
wtf I hate gundam now
>>14638125
>>14638125
As you should.
I hate Gundam so much that I've watched every single episode, OVA, and movie. I hated every single second of viewing, and I look forward to confirming my hate by watching future Gundam projects.
Tomino needs to die of old age before he's given another chance to kill Gundam.
>>14638088
They don't call him "kill em all" for nothing.
If you think Tomino is the only one who killed Gundam, you're delusional. The franchise went to the shitter to pander to dumb otakoos.

Hello MAL retard
Has Tomino ever written one good tv anime? Just wondering.
They all seem to be very mediocre and run of the mill.
Are his novels any better?
>>14638065
All of them except Zeta.
>>14638065
>>14638069
how is this b8? no one on /m/ watches tomino shows seriously, only ironically.
Ok so it's not gunpla and not a toy, so I don't know where it belongs.
What do you guys think of it?
And do you think that buying a 3rd party figure(not a KO) is immoral/wrong?
>>14637998
Not as immoral as Bandai's Webshop exclusive Jewery.
3P is fine in my book, hell even Hasbro now has to cater to older G1 fans with their newer figures because 3P has fucking destroyed them for years.
>>14637998
>And do you think that buying a 3rd party figure(not a KO) is immoral/wrong?
Bandai are a bunch of thieves. Fuck their web exclusive. And fuck their greed too. The first metal build was 12,000 yen, then they realized the success and have raised the price in a totally absurd way. But up to the Strike Freedom, there was at least one undoubted quality, now with the Astray red and blue they have worsened the materials. The Blue astray at 24,000 yen is a big fuck no.
In the case of Mo Show specifically, their Strike Gundam 1/72 was spectacular, so I will take this too.
(In any case, the metal builds ( and so Damashii and other) are all made and mounted in China)
If third parties give us products we would never get from Bandai then I don't see anything wrong with them.
Like seriously, I'm surprised we never got a MB 00Q despite it being more popular than 00R.
I'll probably go with the Fanmade 00Q though, cause it looks fucking sick.

Mecha are so pointless. You could replace them with tanks/airplanes/vehicles or superpowers in any setting and literally nothing changes.
Name a work that wouldn't function without mecha. Protip: youcan't
>>14637831
Naruto. Mecha-Naruto is key to the setting.
>>14637831
Evangelion.
Now, let's argue whether or not biological gigantic bipeds strapped with electronics count as mecha.

What's the correct order to watch Patlabor? Shit's confusing.
>>14637649
Watch the TV series
Throw the rest in the trash
>>14637649
There's two timelines
The First OVA (The Early Days) series leads into the movies
The TV series leads into the second OVA (The New Files).
There's not really a correct order outside of that. Watch whatever you want.
>>14637707
I think that cleared this. Thanks.
Give me your /m/echs with retarded amount of equipment/armament.

Not everyone liked Shin Mazinger, but for me it was my TTGL.
>dat fucking ending
Shin Mazinger was the first mecha show I watched that showed me that classic sr shows can have an interesting plot that didn't revolve purely about punching other robots to death.
I watched TTGL after Shin Mazinger, but I had the impression that TTGL's plot wasn't as thorough out as Shin's. It was all rather a predictable affair. Still a decent show, but not the amazing super robot anime that everyone made it out to be.
Shin Mazinger just started broadcasting in my country. The dub is somewhat shitty, but it's nice to rewatch it on TV, knowing a lot of other people are watching it for the first time.
I really didn't like the flashbacks and replaying events all the time. Other than that it was alright.
