has it been long enough for us to feel sad for AGE's wasted potential instead of pissed over it's execution?
AGE didn't have nearly the potential I keep seeing people say it did.
>>14753195
I felt like that ever since Age FX debuted
>>14753195
Plenty of people have felt that way about it since it aired, never mind several years later.

It could do a couple of things Gundam generally doesn't do, at least within the space of a single show, like following 3 separate protagonists and supporting casts over the course of a single conflict and seeing how it affects each of them and how each of them affect each other, how they change over time and what the war does to them. It made use of Mars as a point of conflict and colony instead of Lagrangian colonies, which isn't a massive change, but is something I can see some people wanting or liking, at least in theory. It also introduced the possibility of non-human, or at least non-Terran antagonists, and very different enemy mechanical design from what Gundam normally does. At least for Gen 1. The concept of changing wears every fight was also introduced, which could be horribly toyetic if they made more use of it, but could also introduced a lot of variety and a new element of strategy in to fights, since most units only have a handful of static backpacks, rather than a machine that can make new ones for almost any situation.
There's probably other stuff too, but the generations thing and the possibility of seeing how a war affects different people in the present as well as in the future thanks to successive generations is really the big one, and personally I find that to hold a lot more potential than SEED or F91, two other Gundam entries that are often cited by people as holding untapped potential.

Why are we even born Zeus?!

Hey, at least you have the chance of getting a job designing a overpowered robot and then killing the test-pilot and getting in it yourself.
I made a thread on /a/ but I've got a feeling no one will reply.
I just started Neo Ranga and so far it's been really good, What does /m/ think of it?
How big of an inspiration was it for Macross Zero, or does it only have similar tribal aesthetics
I'm watching it right now, im like 10 episodes in. It's ok i guess.
>>14753063
It gets much better in the second half
>>14753074
Nice, im gonna keep watching it either way since it's so short.
Is Suzaku Kururugi the best pilot in all of mecha?
I want to see him fight with Kira.

What if Ryouma caught an STD and died? Is Getter contagious?

I want New Getter Robo to make another debute in SRW games. New Getter has some nice feats for a super robot and is battle hardened as fuck.

I'm on episode 22 of Zeta right now. Can we talk about how awesome the robot design in this show is? I love how all the grunt suits look so alien and outlandish. While some of them feel like demented versions of the MSG robots (Rick Dias comes to mind), the transformable suits like Gaplant, Asshimar and Gabtheley are outright grotesque and far detached from the earlier federation and Zeon suits. I also feel like this perfectly fits, if not enhances the show's lonely and almost depressing atmosphere.I wish the Rick Dias was still black though
A very high point in Gundam mecha designs
The designs get somewhat kooky later on. Never liked that purple clusterfuck that Yazan and friends jobbed in like 20 times.
But aside from a select few theyre all 10/10 badass designs. Ditto for ZZ
Why are the gundams so popular when the GMs and Monoeyes are vastly superior?
>>14751891
>ITT muh grunt thread #5825146
Because they get to be plastered on all of the promotion material and people like what they know.
Because unlike GMs and Monoeyes, jobbing is the exception, not the norm for Gundams.
What mecha would you like to see Katoki redesign?
I would love to see Optimus Prime Ver. Ka

All the other trashy linearts by Okawara that aren't from Gundam, namely Scopedog, GGG and Layzner
None, because aside from some Okawara stuff he always makes it look shittier than the original.

>Byalant custom

Fite me faggot.
>has been months since i build a kit
>i cannot buy from internet because the taxes are ridiculous high

Kamen rider 1 film subs when?
Are there other limited /mass produced kamen riders like Mage?
Does anyone have some good-quality images for the official art of the mechs from the Cyberbots series?
I need it formasturbationpurposes
Couldn't find anything past the 500x700 mark that wasn't blurry as shit and upscaling results in this.
Bump I guess since Cyberbots is great.
>>14752957
Yeah I ran into the same problem, worst comes to worst I guess I'll just get the art book.
Thanks for the response though.
Only 71 more years until the Gryps Conflict.
Wasn't the first colony supposed to be under construction right now?
>>14751200
I feel like if we do go gundam irl at some point in our lifetime, the designs will look a lot like the For the Barrel designs, and I'm completely okay with that
>>14751200
I thought UC didn't even start until the 23rd century.
I just watched the movie and what in the actual fuck? This was nothing like the first movie or the anime series (yes I know it's not the same timeline). I have a lot of questions because many of the cultural references went over my head.
-What's the deal with the birds? They were everywhere in the first movie and then there's the Yatagarasu which is typically ominous, but are seagulls also ominous?
-Did Nagumo turn herself in with Shige?
-What is the parallel between the JSDF's deployment in Cambodia and wanting to start a war in Japan itself?
-Why does Shige want to see the future?
I hope you guys understood better than I did because I'm confused as hell.
>>14751191
Have seen the "Early Days" OVA before starting the movie?
Now, I will attempt to answer your questions.
>-What's the deal with the birds? They were everywhere in the first movie and then there's the Yatagarasu which is typically ominous, but are seagulls also ominous?
Sorry, but this beyond the scope of my knowledge. Someone with major in literary or film theory might help.
>-Did Nagumo turn herself in with Shige?
No. She arrested him the way police in Asia does. Which was actually an emotional and intimate moment between them, as they reunited after these years
>-What is the parallel between the JSDF's deployment in Cambodia and wanting to start a war in Japan itself?
Years of peace after great the defeat has made the average Japanese misplaced from reality of conflict. To make them experience the chaos and shake them to senses, he planned all this chaos - as I interpret. And some underhanded commentary on nature of JSDF and having a conventional army, I think. There is credence to statement many say that awareness of post war Japan is quite essential to get the themes of this movie, considering 60s student agitation had an impact on Oshii which also resulted in Watch dog of hell franchise (Jin rou, red spectacles, stray dogs)
>-Why does Shige want to see the future?
Japan gains it's manhood again. Something like that. Or how things will with changing time, whether Japan is able to assert itself or not.
>>14752389
I would like to add that even I got bored first time I watched since all I did see previously was Movie 1.
Years later after watching Early days OVA and the Movie 1 again, this time around I enjoyed it.
At it's core, it is mostly that one last mission and reunion sort of things of SV2 after many went to their individual path years later.
Like gather with your hommies for one last gig sort of thing.
>>14751191
>-Why does Shige want to see the future?
certainly not what we got. The further we move from the future we dreamed of in patlabor the sadder I get.
It's like you don't know what's it like to enjoy the good things in life
>>14750907
>good things
>Reconguista in G
Pick one
No, because I don't enjoy G-Reco enough that I'd buy a Blu-Ray of it and I haven't started Getter Robo yet. On a similar note I brought Volume 2 of Tetsujin 28 2004 along with the entirety of Macross Plus just a few days ago.
>Pic related
Sorry for phone quality not being that great.
>>14750940
>Tetsujin 28 will never get a blu ray release
