Is the GBF franchise dead?
How can it come back after Try?
>>14827370
They could start by actually releasing the OVA that was supposed to accompany the first series. Seriously, it'd be nice to know how that's coming along.
>>14827370
Try was pretty flawed, but it really wasn't as bad as you seem to think it was.
>>14827518
Oh yeah, that was a thing.
I haven't heard any news about it though.
pic related
Post watches and other time pieces that are very /m/-friendly
WOAH-HOOOAAAAAAAH

I have that F-91 watch, except mine has a yellow streak around it instead of a blue one like in the pic
I would kill for one of these though, except I bet it's super heavy
Not fully sure if there have been decent blu-ray rips for Megazone 23 till now and whether I am spamming now more than providing useful tip, but:
Encodes of all three OVAs (plus the alternative ending from Robuttech: The Flick) are out from us (OnDeed). Beware the filesizes though.

That Power Ranger trailer gives me F4ntastic vibes. But it also has that Chronicle vibe.
kinda wanna rewatch it

It holds up surprisingly well
/m/ novel thread mk II.
Discuss and talk about /m/ related litrature here.

you should try OP
First part of Armor is pretty good. Didn't finish the second part. There's a lot of not-amazing to good /m/ books by Western writers. If I have time later I'll try and remember some good ones I enjoyed. Also Fall of Reach is very good for more details and things related to Mjolnir armor. Haven't read past the first book in Yukikaze but that's tech-porn as well. If we count body mods as /m/ theres another book I liked that I cannot remember the name of for the life of me, it's where body mods got common and cheap. Main character went by the name of whisper and could slow his heart rate and reduce his body temp, there was a guy who turned himself into an alligator man, MC's buddy was called Grasshopper ans had super long legs with carbon fiber springs or something like that. Was neat.

>the first book in Yukikaze
Apart from book 2 (GL yukikaze) I can't find the first book anywhere on the internet. Why is that?
Let's talk about why 00 is so very very good.
and why seed is so very very bad.
>>14804173
It looks like she pissed on the concrete
>>14804173
Seed was alright imo it's pretty rewatchable at its best, but I did like 00 a bit more, even the movie which I think tied in to the series well once you understand it.I actually think the first arc of Destiny was actually really good if it had been able to continue on what it was setting up
>>14804173
Character in OP's pic is one of the reasons it's very very bad.
Her death was one of the reason why it's very very good.

The Strellabomber 3000
For the 3 or 4 of us who watched it, it's back.
Now with even more psycho girls and a surprisingly smoother animation
I'm conflicted about this, the girl & robot have good designs and this is a well done clip but I'm triggered by anime doing 3D human characters.
>>14790736
First season started a bit poorly but the cast grew on me and the plot really picks up near the end. The concept of team piloting (it's not only the girl, each mecha gets 5 people in there) is kinda rare in mecha nowadays so it's a plus.
>anime doing 3D human characters
It's actually not that bad. IMO it's one of the most fluid 3D I've ever seen, which fit very well to the character design, and in some shots you can't even notice it's made in CG
>>14790795
I don't tink the 3D on the characters is bad, I'm just kind of afraid that Japan will slowly move towards making more and more anime that way. I think the 2D-minded nature of Japanese art is one of the most interesting things about it. CG can be done well but I just don't want it to take over.
Really the CG on the girl in your clip is very well executed, it actually emulates 2D anime outlines really well.
Who is the cutest mecha waifu?
Nobel's up there but she's not the queen.
I wouldn't say Aphrodite is either but she's the OG for piloted effeminate types.
I want Woundwort to be my imouto

Is this a stealth Tomikek thread?
Duker and his waifu were alright but I felt for the Shrikes more.
;_;
>mfw forcing myself through Big O s2
Should I keep watching this mess? It's only 7 more episodes, I guess.
Also, how did they mess this up so bad?
They wanted the guy who made season 1 to have more monsters and reveal the mystery. He never made mystery to solve to begin with.
and fuck you Beck is fun.
>>14841796
>>14841796
Episode 18 was actually pretty fun stand-alone, even if it's so detached from the original feeling of the series. 14-17 sucked really bad, though.
Is this guy one of you?
I tried to get a better pic of his plate holder

I hope not.

Good news!
Let's do something different, /m/. Let's talk about names.
Not the name of your favoite robot or the show you believe is objectively good/bad, just names that really stand out for you. They don't even have to be from a show you like or a show that was popular/influential, or a mecha that is really powerful, just a name that you think is really awesome for whatever reason.
For me, it's GRAVIGORATH, the castle/ship from Gravion Zwei. Say it out loud, it just *sounds* powerful. I don't even remember what it looks like (it's been several years) but the name just has so much weight to it that I can't forget it.
GRAVITY+VIGOR+GOLIATH
GRAVIGORATH
It's almost as much fun to type as it is to say
GRAVIGORATH
I've always been fond of the ridiculous Tomino names and by extension other gundam shows that he had no involvement in. Fucking Lockon Stratos.
This thread made me remember weapons traderPentagona System rulername from L-Gaim - Amandra Kamandra, which I was trying to remember the whole day.
Damn those Tomino names.
GOD BLESS DANCOUGA for badass titles.
Can someone explain the ending of Gasaraki to me please? While you're at it please explain the ending of Blue Gender.
>>14839906
>Can someone explain the ending of Gasaraki to me please
What's to explain, they defeated the American ATs and everybody celebrated with beer and fireworks, nothing happened after that, nosireee
The gasaraki are finally summoned and are revealed to be bald golden naked space men who fucked around with the human genome way way back in the day so they (the space men) could discern their own origins. Or something.
I don't remember the exact specifics at this moment and I really don't want to go dig out my discs just to refresh my memory but I do know the episode is not cryptic so much as it is just really weird the first time you're smacked around with it.
Nor do I really want to scour whatever exists of the archives for the last time I ever explained that episode.
It makes sense when it's fresh in your mind though, of this you have my word.
does anyone have a link to the canon explanation, if there is one?
