I'm sure there are plenty of sci-fi pnp RPGs that have rules for mechs even if they're not strictly about mechs. Traveller for instance allows for walker vehicles. Though I don't know how difficult or expensive in game they would be to build. There's plenty of other vehicles too if you think of mechs as any high tech vehicles.

I have honestly never played a pnp game because I have no one to play with but I think Traveller is pretty malleable. Most pnp games I've read the books of say to ignore rules that will make your session better.

Apparently someone was a few years ago trying to make an entirely mech based Traveller supplement that I imagine would make them more prevalent so you can see if you can find any info on that to make it easier.

I also read that GURPS has rules for mechs and there's a Traveller implementation of GURPS.

I wouldn't say funnels are something that Char likes. It's only ever been on one of his suits. The Sinanju is basically a highly concentrated Char-style suit.

I know the troll at the end was gigantic, but I wouldn't call this a kaiju movie. It's worth watching, in my opinion, regardless. It's a faux-documentary about Scandinavian folkloric monsters.

By that standard alot of classic movies aren't in the genre
Hair splitting serves no purpose, especially based on screentime, that would rule out even some Japanese movies

it really depends on some fine details
for example: you can consider unicorn gundam as a super robot, and you could say the robots on FSS are real robots

the thing with real robot is less about the tech and more about how it's treated in-universe. if the robot is only an instrument of war, accounted for like a jeep, tank or helicopter, you can say it's real robot. if it's an awe inspiring heroic thing, you can say it's a super robot.

I'd assume Optimus as well, given he and Megatron can fight fairly evenly, that Grimlock is subservient to him and that it's Optimus, who is normally portrayed as one of the better fighters and able to overcome even the toughest enemies.
