That motorized exoskeleton is totally wrong. Her body should be using some sort of artificial muscles for movement like in the manga/anime.

And her skin should have titanium weaved dermal layer; I guess they're trying to jump on Ex-machina bandwagon.

There are exceptions, even in anime, but most protagonists are better than - they have to be by nature of fiction, and heading a story where they do more than the rest of the cast.

This is something that is common in a lot of mecha anime anon. In F91 they're only like 40 years out from the OYW but there are basically no veterans around and no one knows what newtypes are. Japan cannot into writing about the past I guess.

Watched it recently, when it broadcasted I dropped it like 2 episodes and a half in.

Now I don't know if was because I was on the mood or something more light or what, but really enjoyed since the first episode to the last.

Most hard sci-fi really only gets into the tech end of things; the writers of such fiction struggle to come up with even mediocre politics.

There are a lot of good sci-writers but only a handful of western ones include /m/ stuff in their books. Mecha is more popular with Japanese and Asian writers, which makes more sense because it's mostly anime-inspired.

As cringy as this might sound, I'm working on becoming a published author who writes stories that (I hope) /m/ would find interesting. Still working on the whole "published" part though...

My uber-dream is to have one of my stories made into a 12-ep anime, but lord knows that'll never happen.

That said, might want to check out the Western /m/ classics such as Starship Trooper and Forever War

As much as I'd like to say it's Meijin...he's really more of a parody and shouldn't count.

But he's still better than the rest of the 2000's Chars either way.

Rau Le Creuset was one of the best things about SEED

Meijin, despite aforementioned parody status.

Char himself is a high water mark that hasn't even been approached. I don't think anyone will be able to capture exactly what Char's character represented for the foreseeable future. I get chills looking at the Zeta screencaps where Char and Amuro discuss being human sacrifices over a glass of whisky, then cutting to that shot of CCA.

He was such a supremely broken human and the best character Tomino ever wrote, before or since. Also he's why Zeta is good.
