After years of putting it off- I finally finished all 47 episodes of Double Zeta

what the actual fuck did I just watch

I feel theres 4-5 just plain awful things/events for every 1-2 good aspects of the series. Going into it I knew not to expect anything like Zeta but the legitimate lack of consistency was mind blowing. And people wonder why it will never get a dub or blu ray release..

I thought this was supposed to be good?

>over half the series is a slow, boring slog to get off Mars, then to get off the moon, then finally they arrive on Earth
>this is interspersed with several sequences where the main characters contact others, warn them of dangerous aliens, get laughed at, then despair when the aliens inevitably slaughter their potential saviors
>the animation is rife with QUALITY
>The two younger girls and the "comic relief" guy are utterly useless and just take up screen time
>main character is as interesting and charismatic as a piece of wood

It's just so boring and slow. Very little has happened in 20 episodes.

I just finished Bokurano and It was good. But I need to get the taste of it out of my mouth.

What are some good Reconstructive or lighthearted mecha series to watch that aren't TTGL. I've already seen that one.

The silhouette is the most important part of designing a giant robot. Poor designs have poor silhouettes, and truly awful designs will try to compensate for a poor silhouette by adding useless detail everywhere.

Is Ideon worth watching?

I'm on the first episode and it already feels like a chore.

Could you entice me with some spoilers interesting enough to get me to watch the whole show?

Any type of spoiler is fine. Spoil the ending or the whole show if you want. I've actually started watching a few shows and movies this way. Better than not watching it at all.
