The thing about copyrights that I guess you don't quite grasp is that whether you are doing it just for fun, or for profit, using someone else's work without their permission is against the law.

I've said it many times on these very boards, I don't allow anyone to bootleg GEMN Corp's Gashats into their own hands, with the exception of fan art. The reason for this is that someday I plan to create the ultimate game, and in the meantime I don't want some piece of shit floating around the internet representing my intellectual property.

If GEMN Corp's is going to make more gashats, it is going to happen under my strict supervision, so that I can make sure it is done right.

You must be in middle school, because I'm fairly certain most colleges make you seek permission before adapting/using copyrighted materials into school projects. I don't recall middle schools being quite so eager to make sure copyright law was upheld. But it's unfortunate that they didn't teach you that it was illegal.

I've passed this matter along to my lawyer to see what he has to say about it.

I always saw AGE as being about literal Darwinism, not social Darwinism. After all, the Vagans went out into space without understanding how radiation works, and now they're dying for it. Zeta movies changed the ending in a radical way, so I wouldn't recommend it.
But don't listen to the memelords around here, despite being flawed the series looks great and is totally enjoyable.

The movies, especially Encounters in Space have a lot of redone scenes that are great but there is still a lot of character interaction that was cut out that would have helped you appreciate those scenes better.
The final arc of the show is very complex and dense enough even without being compacted in a movie and the sequels build on the themes introduced here. Watching the movies first won't necessarily give you a good overview of that.
Soldiers of Sorrow is a horrible mess that completely butchers the middle arc of the show at the expense of introducing some plot points for the sake of continuity. It's completely incoherent which is made worse by the fact it tries to integrate some episodes and character arcs that don't mesh well together in a continuous two hour format. As a result it is completely incomprehensible.
Watching nothing but the movies is only acceptable you want to watch MSG for the sake of watching it.
I believe a lot of stupid memes were born because of people who only watched the movies and failed to grasp basic plot points. Still I might be giving them too much credit. Obviously it's possible to watch an entire series and still completely miss the point.

They're all pretty fun. K has a lot of problems but I think the hate for it is way overblown and it has a great cast to help make up for it.

Besides W, there are only two SRWs in the DS: K and L.
L has Eva and it's pretty good. Though if you want to play them all, I suggest doing K first because you'll likely be spoiled by L's gameplay and won't be able to play it.

I wonder why the animation is so bad though, feels lower budget than other Gundams of similar duration.

Why do this and Evangelion look similar? They even have the same kind of atmosphere.
