I'd agree on them being integral in the fall of the Titans, but Neo Zeon fell because of Neo Zeon themselves. AEUG by ZZ had devolved into petty bearacracy and Anaheim bickering, turning them into a pawn of the Federation rather than a real resistance army. Had Glemy Toto not started his insurrection, the Earth Federation would have been subjugated by Neo Zeon, and remaining Karaba forces would have gradually been hunted down.

Uso is a ridiculously resourceful and ingenious pilot, in a similar vein as Amuro. Frequently throughout Victory he comes up with improvised moves and combos with other people to take down Zanscare suits that are far stronger than his.

Half of the people around him that die do so as sacrifices, and the other half because they got outmatched or got unlucky. He's a far better pilot than either Iok or Patrick, but I don't think he'd kill them if he doesn't have to.

This anime is weird.

I actually do agree that 0080 gets way too much praise for what it really is, but that's just what happens when most of a franchise is mediocre to awful. Stuff that's just okay gets hyped up as the The Best Thing Ever.
