Has any faction in any Gundam ever had any success with mass producing these things?
The only faction I've seen to date produce them in considerable numbers was the Earth Alliance from SEED, and most of their early ones weren't all that great.
And were the Zeon ones featured in the One Year War really winning battles for Zeon when they were deployed?
Also, what is your favorite Mobile Armor from any series?

>Has any faction in any Gundam ever had any success with mass producing these things?
No.
>And were the Zeon ones featured in the One Year War really winning battles for Zeon when they were deployed?
No. OYW zeeks are the worst when it comes to deploying MA.
>Also, what is your favorite Mobile Armor from any series?
Probably Neue Ziel because of the design. Dendrobium Orchis is pretty cool, too, but it's technically a mobile container platform since it requires being controlled from a piloted from an MS that controls the MA instead of being controlled directly from an onboard cockpit like most other MA.
>>15293411
>OYW zeeks are the worst when it comes to deploying MA.
How so?
Poor deployment or the rate at which they lost them after deployment?
And what separates a Mobile Armor from a Mobile Suit anyway?
Are Mobile Armors just extremely large or heavy mobile suits, non-humanoid Mobile Suits or heavily armed Fighter Craft that can fight back in close combat?
I see things like the Zock from the original Gundam that are defined as Mobile Suits, despite their large size. Yet there are things like the Mobius from SEED that are much smaller than something like the Zock, but are referred to as Mobile Armors.
And if a Mobile Suit has a transformable, non-Humanoid form, is it considered a Mobile Armor?
GHOST IN THE SHELL (live) thread
I'm surprised there isn't one already and you aren't all raging/in denial about it.
Cause myself, I just saw the movie.
I'll give them this : The source material was too rich and complex for them to truthfully adapt the themes (they only had 2 hours), yet this is a carnival of reference. I'll let you decide where homage start, where filling thread and where copy end.
Also, it isn't anywhere close to be as sexualized as a Shirow Masamune work, or most anime, so we can't reproach them that.
Do not expect to see the Major Motoko Kusanagi in this, she isn't "in". I expect thetomb with her nameto become a viral meme here. And I'm not talking of Hollywood whitewashing, I called it, it goes well enough with "custom made cyborg". Scar Jo is a shit actress, fortunately the role DON'T ask for expressiveness.
Expect a typically American vision & understanding of technology dumbed a little for the most common spectator. But don't take my words for fact, I know so much about transhumanism that even good stuff is starting to look tame to me.
I just want to punch whoever dubbed some of the characters in my language, and whoever thought it was a good idea to advertise it solely on Scar sexiness when they had plenty of iconic scene that fit the (new) themes.
That's all from me.
>>15371649
>Adaptation excludes the flagship character of the series to be "its own thing"
This will always knock any piece of media down a full two letter grades for me.
Is it good though?

Top jek.
Does anyone remember when /m/ was making this card game thing about two years ago? Does anyone still have the basic information for it? I'll post what I got (A GGG-themed deck) and what I remember about the rules
>Cards were divided into three colors for factions (Red/Blue/Green). Green I remember being the high energy big dudes group, AKA Super Robots. The other two were Real Robots and Kaiju/aliens (I forgot which was red and which was blue)
>Cards have a cost (top right) and a value (bottom left), and you would play cards by using the bottom value somehow (I forget if it was you discard cards whos total value equal the cost of the card you play, or just use them as resources like in Duel Masters)
>Units are your creatures. Attack Power/Defense Power in the bottom. Each faction would have their own specific Keywords (I forget what GS Ride did in the case of Gaogaigar and pals, I think it was some attack-boosting ability)
>Events were the equivalent of sorceries, and could only be played during your turn
>Reaction Events were just Instants, AKA they could be played at any time
>Equip Events were just that: Weapons/skills that you attach to your Units. Basically a combined version of equipment/enchantment
Am I the only one who thinks the worst Gundam is not SEED Destiny or IBO, but Wing?
No. It's legitimately the hardest show I've ever had to finish. At least you can laugh at Destiny's stupidity, and a rock out to the soundtrack.
I wouldn't call it the worst, but it's not exactly bad. After all, Wing on Toonami is what got me in to Gundam in the first place.
That said, now that I'm older and my mecha palate is more refined, Wing is just angsty, whiny teenage boys in puberty given limitless control of giant nuclear death machines.
What sets this apart from other Gundam series is that there is five of them at once now, and a single dead-eyed whiny angsty teenage girl who I'm pretty sure drinks the blood of small animals for sustenance.
>>15396504
It's not exactly good*
Whoever said 6 am was too early to start drinking was a fool.
Is there anyone that could help me identify a really old mecha anime.
I't for a friend of mine so I am afraid I have very limited information.
He saw it somewhere in the late 80s. The animation style looked alot like the original gundam series. It was a movie and the pilot of the mecha had the ability to dive in to solid matter and then make it explode.
It's not much I know I will try to get more info from him.

It would help which country he's from.

I don't know what mecha anime they ran in the Netherlands, but here's a chart. Hopefully it can help.

Lauren gave the series an A+
>>15395766
>Let's get personal for just a moment. It's time for new anime, and I've been watching a lot of it, but there's only one episode that feels like it's been permanently etched into my brain, and it's the finale of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. I've written before that this show is hyper-aware of its status as part of the Gundam multiverse, always riffing on known tropes with a nod to the audience.
Everything that happened in this finale follows the nuance of Gundam's homegrown collection of style choices, and yet it still manages to surpass them and throw in a few surprises. Still, is my overwhelmingly positive reaction mostly a response to this episode's enormous emotional toll? I'd say it isn't entirely, but I am definitely swayed by my love for and intimate familiarity with Gundam storytelling. The message of this epilogue—and its questionable sense of justice—made it a more satisfactory finale than Gundam shows usually offer, but for casual viewers, this bloody end might feel hackneyed. For my part, I don't see those deaths as a storytelling shortcut, so here's why I think we were headed for this ending all along.
>>15395773
>Since his last accident, Mikazuki has become reliant on Barbatos Lupus Rex. Since then, we've only seen him connected to Barbatos via symbolic umbilical cord. That's not to say he couldn't survive without it, but he did not seem to perceive his life beyond it. More than all the other death flags—more than his unborn child and more than the fact that Gundam heroes typically aren't long for this world—it was Mika's mindset that marked him for death. And yet, I'd argue that Mikazuki got a satisfactory ending. All this time, Tekkadan has been fighting for nebulous goals. Yes, they want to protect their family, but more than that, they fought to find belonging—”Kings of Mars” was a title that represented a place where they could all live together happily. It isn't until the end that Mikazuki realizes they've already achieved that: “We'd already made it. The place where we truly belong.” Mikazuki, Orga, Akihiro, and the others died surrounded by people who mourned them, something these loners previously never expected to happen. Tekkadan was the paradise they'd been searching for the whole time.
>>15395775
>By the halfway point of the episode, Tekkadan is destined to be smudged from the history books, its members either in hiding or only immortalized by names scrawled on the “family gravestone". And who should be on top of the new world order but Rustal Elion. Rustal's an antagonist, but not a villain. He uses underhanded tactics, just like McGillis Fareed and Tekkadan, but in keeping with that company, we learn that he has a good side too. His duality was signaled symbolically last episode, when Julieta acknowledged that she can trust him, while other people her age must fear him. Rustal “wins” this round, but he accomplishes what all the factions in Iron-Blooded Orphans, from Kudelia to Teiwaz, were fighting for—the abolishment of both slavery and a corrupt governing system. History is written by the winners, and Rustal will go down as a “good guy," while Tekkadan and the McGillis Incident will only be footnotes. I can understand viewers being upset that Rustal doesn't get “justice,” but his triumph shows how morally duplicitous every faction in this show has been. Ever since Mobile Suit Gundam, fans have wrestled with who to root for. Take Char, the single-minded activist who betrays his best friend and tries to kill the main character. This outcome underlines the “war is bad” message of Gundam by reminding us that in war, there are no real winners and no real good guys, only characters who live long enough to become sympathetic to viewers.
I'm actually fine with getting more IBO as long as we get more IBO kits and more UC OVAs too.

This is just wrong in so many levels. Hush died with people waiting for him. He never surpassed Mikazuki(Which wouldn't have happen anyway because they don't need to fight anymore). Only thing I'm mad about IBO's ending

If you don't have Alia Vagina, you die pointlessly.
>>15395016
Unless you're Gaelio or Julietta.
>>15395024
Gaelio had Alia Vagina installed in himwhich is butt boy Ein used to put his dick into to operate his mech.
Julietta survived because Mika didn't ruch her cockpit properly.

>I would have bitched slap Nina so hard.
Why is it people on 4chan talk big when they post, but in real life they turn out to be wimpering betas that have never been in a relationship with a woman?
Anyways, Kou stood up to Monsha and beat him, and was fighting at the same level as Gato.
That's pretty impressive to me, a lot more impressive than some nobody on the internet calling people "cuck".
Who green lighted this shit.
here what IBO should have been.
>Bunch of war torn orphans, fighting to make their mark on the world. Sacrifices would have been made, but they would have laid the foundation to a better world. Destroying Coruption through Power and establishing hegemony, going against the status quo.
What we got.
> If you try to make a better life for yourself, you lose. Be a good goy and continue suffering. People on top of the ivory tower are the winners. Use cheap tactics, and manipulate the people viewpoint.
>>15394126
It's not a happy lesson, but it is a good one. Too many stories tell people that if they just persevere and keep on fighting, they can do anything. But the truth is that no, entrenched power structures are so much bigger than you that only other entrenched power structures can cause meaningful change to them.
>>15394126
>muh generic bittersweet ending with le epic hero sacrifices
kill yourself pleb, ibo is already shit enough.
They literally achieved everything they initially wanted to
The lesson is that you have to make compromises and can't get by with childish ideologies
