It happens a lot. Kamille became a doctor for the rest of his life, Bright retired...albeit under possibly terrible circumstances. Judau's the longest living Gundam pilot I can think of since he lives during the age of Crossbone and after his late life adventures conclude I must assume he retires too to a point. Most of the protagonists who survive usually retire. Lead better lives.

Even in super robot series'. Noriko and Kasumi are probably DONE when they reach Earth in the far far future, Kasumi herself was retired already intending to go and help Noriko one last time.

Depending on the Getter Robo or Mazinger continuity, sometimes even the likes of them just plain retire. Like I said, depends on the continuity.

There's probably more examples of it than I can recount.

I dunno I kind of like it.

It looks a bit clumsy and even a little jury-rigged which fits the Nirvash in the beginning of the series, and maybe when it upgrades to its eventual later forms it gets more streamlined.

Fromsoft already announced an upcoming AC title a while ago. They probably gonna still use the smaller mechs from ACV to "compete" with Titanfall, but so long they get rid of the obnoxious SCAN MODE mechanic and rebalance the damage triangle I'm good.
I actually enjoyed wall kicking around in Lightweights.

Personally I'm hoping for something that's a little different all around. FROM doesn't really tend to "compete" with anyone, Souls was its own thing, no reason for AC not to be its own thing as well. Going back to an older (not really, but y'know) IP, I kind of think they might start an alternate universe to not worry about "power levels" of ACs in regards to canon and to be able to attract new players as well as give long-time fans a fresh start. I kind of hope they keep something along the lines of Kojima particles just because of how ridiculously toxic they are, even if the power of KP-related stuff is reduced or god forbid amped up.
