a redo of one of the episodes from the TV series, but the villain was her old friend/mentor instead of Goto's old friend/mentor from college.
What do you call this thing?
Is it a chin? or is it a tongue?
I'll bite. It's a chin. I cannot unsee the tongue. Fuck.

does it count as a kill if your target is in a vastly inferior piece of tech?
How many aces got that rank because they were only facing space craft or pods rather than robots?
>>15554819
>does it count as a kill if your target is in a vastly inferior piece of tech?
Of course it does. People will find any damn way they can to inflate their counts. Otherwise, wouldn't they be stuck between
>claim your enemy's hardware is shit
or
>none of your soldiers' kill counts are valid
>>15554819
>How many aces got that rank because they were only facing space craft or pods rather than robots?
Char, for one.
The guy gets his ass kicked pretty much every time he tries to fight a named character unless he's either fighting a massively less experienced opponent or piloting a massively superior machine.
>>15554830
>tfw you realize Gato is better than Char despite not having bullshit powers and never jobbed to anyone.
wow looks like I'll have to reinstall Overwatch just to win this new skin
>>15554299

What's the matter? Couldn't deal with the progressive liberal subtext?
Please...
When are they gonna churn out the overwatch movies? It might be better than warcraft poo
>>15554312
Overwatch seems like it'd be better as a TV show. It's got kind of an ensemble cast going on.

And you thought Maofag was annoying
Why are the shows titled 'Kidou Senshi Gundam', but the characters all say 'mobiru suitsu'?
Why are the shows titled 'Star Trek', but even one officer not said "Star Trek", also why a ship'a name isn't Star Trek?
>>15550975
I bet some shitty star trek show said something along the lines of "wow we really are on a star trek"
>>15550933
"Kidou Senshi" is basically "mobile warrior" in Japanese.
Is there any Gundam series that actually comprehensively explains how the controls manipulate the Mobile Suit?
The amount of precision dodging/manipulation of melee weaponry in the series doesn't seem remotely possible with just levers/triggers and pedals. Like if those levers are actually used to manipulate the hands then how does the body itself turn?
>>15550688
It's like a plane on fly-by-wire. All pilot inputs are sent to a computer that translates them into suit movement. Coupled with the fact that the Mobile Suits have some form of combat AI software on board, a pilot moving a control stick and pulling a trigger can about to a Zaku strafing, pulling out it's Heat Hawk and lunging forward. Also, look at RX-78's learning computer. From combat it picks up information and improves the Gundam's movements while tuning them to how the pilot reacts. After a while, the AI is smart enough to help evade beams and engage in high-mobility close quarters combat.
>>15550707
>waggle stick and press a button
>Gundam does a backflip and shoots a Zaku behind it through the eye
Makes perfect sense
>>15550710
If you want something worse, look at the Lancelot from Code Geass. Backflips and acrobatics all over the place.
It's a wonder how Suzaku didn't get motion sickness piloting it.
Looking to get into the Mazinger Z franchise. Am I going to miss out on anything if I stick with the manga for the first series?
>>15550559
You absolutely are. The show is way, WAY better than the manga is, although it's also way longer. It doesn't help that the manga scans we got are apparently retrieved from a magazine that didn't print certain chapters, which is why Boss Borot just appears out of nowhere in one chapter.
>>15550612
The manga scans I have are from the Japanese volume 'books'.
>>15550559
If you are anything like me you will start with the manga, watch Mazinkaiser > Shin Mazinger > SKL > various other manga. At the point I'm at now I plan to watch the Toei Mazinger anime soon. Doesn't have to be your start but if you end up enjoying Mazinger you will end up watching Toeizinger.
Why does the level of technology in 0083 seem to be higher than that of Zeta?
Stuff like the Stamen/Dendroborium looks way more impressive than the MkII which was developed years later
It's pretty common for prequels to have more advanced stuff because it helps sell merchandise.
And that's why I'm enjoying Rebellion so much. It tries to bridge mechanical continuity from the early 0080s to the gryps era.
>>15546155
then when they release stuff that has lower tech, people lose their shit (twilight axis and g-saviour)
though with TA it's more about the shitty gunpla.
The movie is out on Netflix RIGHT NOW

Newfag, posted here like once before. Started Gundam ages ago but started speeding up recently. Here's my thoughts to ya'll haters.
MSG felt like a chore initially, mostly just because of how dated it initially felt (that OP gave me cancer). After a while it grew on me, and I genuinely began to enjoy just about every single character and plot development. One of the few true stories I've experienced (see: not many) that depicts war as the true evil in wartime, so I'm impressed with it. Any other /m/ shows similar would be much obliged. In reference to another thread, Newtypes are the bane of the series, though. I like the idea, but the way it was meta-explained to me makes it feel like an unnecessary copout. Still, Mecha Jedi are cool, too.
Zeta made me absolutely loathe Newtypes. While I like a lot of aspects of them, the fact that every character (and from what I recall it's implied White Base's crew is too) is pretty much claimed to be a Newtype makes it pointless. The routine "meet character X, character X has small arc, character X dies tragically" started to get a little old mid-Zeta as well, continuing from MSG. I was also saddened by the lessened focus on war being the only evil to depicting characters in war, although it was a good switch regardless. Other than that, at least near the end of Zeta and in retrospect I began to genuinely appreciate it. Don't know if I like it over MSG, but both are damned good.
ZZ was...well, shit coming from Zeta, but got better near the end, almost impressively so. The end felt rushed. And CC was rushed, as well, which makes me baffled as to why he apparently kept Char out on purpose.
Just finished 0080, which was good, but felt a little sparse for some reason. Up next is F91.
Now tell me why I should fuck off and leave /m/, friends. Can't wait to hear it!
>Zeta
>shit
oh look. it's that thread. again.
>calls Zeta damned good
>first poster calls me Zetarager
Well I'll be, someone's either itching for a fight or just the Zetarager themselves.
But nah, I heavily enjoyed Zeta. It's not God's gift to anime - at least until I watch other stuff - but it was very enjoyable while watching it. MSG took me something like 6 months to finish but I marathoned most of Zeta over the course of a week.
Oddly enough I actually finished ZZ faster than both of those. Not sure why.
>>15561539
see i had the opposite reaction with Zeta and ZZ, as zeta wore on i felt more and more tired of its shtick, and while characters like Kamille and Fa grew into likable characters, others that were returns from MSG either faded into the backround or became annoyances. im not sure you could have paid me to care about Reccoa's motives by the end and with Katz his death felt like a logical end to him becoming increasingly angst ridden and revenge seeking. not to mention the werid BS that was the Deus ex Machina in the ending, it was tone shattering
but with ZZ it started out kinda buffoonish but that was like a breath of fresh air coming from Zeta's tone of "EVERYTHING IS TERRIBLE" and the characters quickly grew on me and i appreciated their growth, like even though its less drastic from growth from Zeta. and i liked the villians, Glemy was a goofy high class type but as the show went on he became this Noble Bastard, Mashymre went from over poetic Buffoon to blood knight, and i loved how Chara was constantly going back and forth from goofy to psychotic.
but i agree with you with CCA it felt WAY to fast, not like it was over compressed but like a big chunk in the beginning was missing and the later parts lacked time to breathe. it made Quess and Hathaway and some other characters seem more psycho than they might have been meant too. i still really liked it though
