So I just finished episode 5 and holy shit, I don't even know what to say.
I haven't been this confused since my first viewing of End of Evangelion.

We went from base assault to everyone dying to Gundam Unicorn episode 7 newtype physics manipulation to Gypsies and peace in the span of an hour.
It was incredibly weird, but also somewhat fitting for Code Geass.
God I still can't get over how strange this episode was.
Although I didn't mind this I now understand why everyone was so pissed with the series.

Also the CGI was used a bit poorly here, now don't get me wrong I'm not some blind CG hater I liked Sidonia, Fafner, MJP, and even the last 4 episodes.
But episode 5 had some really poorly done storyboarding when it came to the fights.
This was very evident in the scene where Akito and the gang fight off the grunts storming the base.
The camera is flailing everywhere and almost nothing looks consistent.

Holy shit R3 is gonna be a ride if they reuse any of this.
I mean now it's basically confirmed that Geass powers are on par with the stuff Newtypes can do with psychoframe.
They're basically setting Code Geass up to be like UC Gundam.
