They have more force to better pierce thick armor.

Shinn is only able to make a small cut in Stella's Destroy (cutting into the cockpit but not deep enough to hit the pilot or make it any difficult to control) and Kira has to jam his sabers right down the barrels of the main cannons to finally take it down (and even then it mostly just blows a big hole in it)

Meanwhile with Destiny's Ship sword, he's able to slice right through them.

It also helps against physical shields. Freedom's shield could resist tons of saber hits, but the Excalibur goes right through it, and Destiny also casually cleaves right though both a Gouf and Akatsuki's physical shields.

But there's the trade off that you can break the physical blade.

Gundam is trash, Macross is trash, Getter Robo is trash, Tekkaman Blade is trash, your favorite obscure trash shows like Neo Ranga, Betterman, Maze or whatever other garbage you "ironically" like in order to fit in are trash, and whatever you like probably is flawed as fuck but you're too stupid to admit it.

Much like anime as a whole, mecha is nothing more than a glorified advertisement for merchandise, but even worse because all of it is aimed at children.

All of their variant covers look nothing like the actual product, just as the interior artwork barely resembles any of the actual source material because Marco Turini doesn't do anime adaptations or anime art in general. Thus, everyone looks and acts like mopey old people who have never smiled in their lives, even with the scene in pic related with the bridge bunnies.

Shit thread aside, I can't help but feel this confirms something I've suspected for awhile now. That the Rightstuf releases weren't meant to help reestablish the brand in NA, rather a means to milk the NA fanbase. Now with IBO, the show Bandai wants to be the new hotness, they looked like they've switched to a bigger, more well-known distributor in order to get it into more stores.

Twilight Axis is the kind of thing the franchise really needs. It shows off the kits (which is all they care about) and is made at half the cost so who cares if it's really good or not.
