Disagree with me all you want, but the G1 Transformers movie was far more shocking than both Be Invoked and EoE.
The concept of "plot armor" was completely thrown out the window for pretty much every single character.
Am I the only one who feels this way?
One shall stand,
One shall fall
>>11751793
yeah, you expect that with Tomino or Eva
when Saturday Morning moves to the screen and opens with killing like half the cast it's more of a surprise
>>11751793
I really enjoyed that movie, shame I am not really into transformers anymore. If I could I would get a toy of that huge planet transformer from that movie
There's a Zaku thread, let's have another GM thread.
Question for the visor appreciators in the audience: on your GM variants, do you prefer the traditional square jaw as seen on the Cold Districts and Type C and Powered, or do you prefer something that throws the traditional face out and takes only the visor, as seen on the GM Command and Sniper 2, and GM Custom?
As far as heads go, Command/Cold > C > Custom > Ground = Powered > 3 > Early >>>>>>> Space/2
If just the head:
Sniper 2 > Custom > Cold > Command > Powered > 3 > C > Ground > 2 > 1
As for the actual suits, I'm quite partial the GM III, which feels like a genuine evolution of the GM, rather than just a plain upgrade like the II. It's beefy, but still a pure mass-production suit, unlike some of the more unique ones like the Powered and the Command. And as a Jegan/Jesta fan, the Custom is basically the proto-Jesta, so it ranks pretty high in my book as well.
Standing by in thread to be educated on GMs.
This shows up in your town one day.
Which mecha do you use to take it on?
>>11808616
A metal slug with armor piercing can get the job done no problem.
>>11808654
Or just a girl in glasses with a handgun, really
>>11808616
i'd museru all day erriday
C-can we have a Crossbone Vanguard MS thread?
>>11812212
>Berga Dalas
You. I like you. You have taste.
Alrogjt gentlemen, how do we save the mecha genre?
Does it really need saving right now? Plenty of mecha shows are being made, just not in the insane quantity that there was in the 80s.
more shotas in shorts
>>11813208
>Plenty of mecha shows are being made
Yeah but how many of them are memorable or even just good in general really?
Post Char clones from non Gundam series.
TOROMBEH
Damn, why is Dougram so based? I'm right at episode 65 and can't stop.
Where else have you seen choppers being deadly (even though I've lost count of how many fucking Chico has shot down on his own, the guy is a murder machine), people with unique designs (based Shioyama), everyone is badass, and won't even start talking about Lecoque, the glorious, greedy bastard.
I know this series is largely praised, and now I know why. I can only wonder what would happen if Dougram was being aired nowadays - would it be weekly plot/politics discussion or just being ignored because it's "boring"?
Anyway, Dougram thread?
>>11768360
>would it be weekly plot/politics discussion
I would hope so--it's been a long time since there's been an /m/ show with that level of political depth. Sure, I imagine that these days you'd have trolls going "dougram more like slowgram" or something like that, but the quality of the show itself would ward off most of 'em, IMO.
I also imagine there'd be a lot of threads starting with "ITT people who did nothing wrong" and a picture of Denon.
Do you think billy could ever reintegrate back into regular life?
For some reason child soldiers usually don't adjust well.
Non-japanese mecha thread.
Do I really *need* to watch ZZ? I want to watch as much Gundam as I can, but watching ZZ makes me really wish I wasn't. I don't know why, It's not like it's the worst thing ever, just something about it makes me want to just... not.
>doesn't want to watch ZZ
plz you'll miss out on everything. how will you post in Haman fag threads? how will you understand the love for a Purus? Wanna watch Unicorn? well ZZ ties into it.
plus you'll miss out on Jewdough the greatest swag master.
>>11813067
ZZ isn't as bad as people will tell you. It does improve somewhat, but as a whole it's only ever referenced again in Unicorn and if you don't like it/plan on watching Unicorn there isn't much of a point.
>>11813067
Yes, you need to watch all the shows that you don't want to watch. I think you should give yourself an enema while watching them, just for emphesis.
ZZ is fun though, are you not fun person?
How would they be best used in our world?
>>11818237
Depends. Newly made mechs like the ones we have now? Or the ones potrayed in media? If its the first one then not much use other than a fancy thing. If its the 2nd then I'd say morale. Nothing to boost our morale then throwing a fucking enemy tank into a enemy helicopter.
They wouldn't because square cube law.
Construction and other manual labor probably.
Also I don't think your pic has enuff dakka.
No matter what everyone will say, I still strongly believe that Char Counterattack is one of the best piece of Japanese animation ever made.
And I cried at the ending.
Fuck
>>11777718
For me CCA is tragic because Char had neither avenged Lalah, nor finish the Earthnoids.
It would be nice to see the newtype society he belived in.
Also, too bad that Nanai wasn't playing a big role.
Amuro trying to push back Axis even though he knew it was retarded really hit me in the feels.
>>11777718
best Gundam movie for sure

What's the difference?
My best guess would be HS is from some stream and the other is a TV rip.
>>11818269
Pretty much also audiofags claim that the sound muxing in HS is ass
BOW BEFORE YOUR NEW QUEEN!
How do I get good at Armored Core? I'm using a configuration more or less similar to what I went with on AC1 (I couldn't bear with its horrendous controls for long), but it doesn't seem to really get the job done in Nexus. Also holy shit the menu BGM has to be some form of psychological warfare, I had to turn it off. I wish I could just unpack the iso and delete its file or replace it.
>>11788394
Just shoot the enemy without getting hit.
Here's a tip, though:
If you boost, you go faster.
Stop letting them get above you
Honestly though the only enemy AC that'll give you trouble should be Genobee, since he fights like a plussie
>>11788442
>implying I'm not boosting

Hi everyone. I just arrived in Japan yesterday, staying for the month, and I was wondering if you guys have advice for cool /m/ related things to check out?
Done: Visit to Akihabara
Visit to Mandarake
Visit to Gundam Cafe
To Do: Kamen Rider the Diner
Odaiba Gundam
Comiket
I'd really appreciate it if you guys have anything else you can add to this list, or any other general advice. There was no Mecha Monday yesterday because it was Tuesday in Japan, and my first day. I'll see about doing Mecha Monday Japan time next week, as promised!
you are canadian until you come home
Do you like toku?
If so, go to the Toei Hero Museum at the Aeon Mall in Chiba Prefecture. From Tokyo Station, get on the Keiyo Line (rapid). There's only one way you can go on it so don't worry. The station you are looking for is Kaihinmakuhari. This is also the route that takes you past Disneyland if you have trouble, just ask what JR route goes to Disneyland. When you get to Kaihinmakuhari, take the bus from the front that goes to Aeon Mall.
Toei Hero Museum is in the "family" area, on the third floor, I think. You'll have to buy one of the transformation braces. They'll ask you if you want to drive the kiddie cars too probably but you can say no. Photos are OK in there, and you can see all the cool suits.
If you have any trouble just ask.
There is a Gundam Cafe in there too, btw. I'll try to think of some other stuff... are you going anywhere outside of Tokyo? If Kyoto, check out the Toei Uzumasa Movie Museum.
Not /m/, but the Tsukiji fish market sounds cool.
