So whats up with /m/ and Power Rangers lately? Any mention of it seems to throw someone in a blind fury now.
>>12179212
There have always been people not knowing how to just ignore things they don't care for.
Why don't you go ask in the containment thread? That's what it's there for.

I already asked /Ssg/ :^)

Considerable Less Shitposting Edition
For a short break, we were abandoned by OP for whatever reasonI'm sorryat the second thread. This one is to keep things going so we can actually do something with the time invested, so we can hopefully catch OP's attention, and we can get a roll call for who's still left.
Now, for roll call, we'll post the last standings for matches and also post full team linearts that OP had made. Those who belong in team should reply to these, stating team name and, if they're in a three or two man team, the unit they are using.
As for how this shit will operate, hopefully OP can come back and tell us what we should, since we're showing him we're really srs 'bout this. If not, we'll take control and make group decisions with everyone still in it.
So, yeah..
STAGE SET!

Team 1: Pale Rider, Strike Noir, Stark Jegan Extra Armor

Remember when /m/ wasn't Rangerboard? Did /m/ just stop being about Japanese stuff in the last month while I wasn't looking?

There's really only one rule, and it's constantly blown off.Don't be a dick.

Do mods even visit /m/ anymore?
I've read Devilman and it was mostly great.
Then i've read Jeeg and it was trash.
Then i've partially read Getter Robot and it was slightly less trash than Jeeg, characters are the only good this it has going for it so far.
What Nagai series are actually worth reading? Should i even bother with Mazinger/Grendizer etc?
What about Violence Jack?
>>12183051
>Getter Robo
>Nagai
Every time.
Violence Jack is the sequel to Devilman, it's far less compressed and consistent in quality but when it's good it's really fucking good. The OVA version is pretty awful, should really be avoided until you've read the manga.
>>12183051
>Then i've read Jeeg
No you haven't.
>Go Nagai

Just delete this thread. Go watch bleach or something.

No it isn't. Stop that awful misconception.

Hey /m/. I'm going to buy and scan the missing Viz issues of Area 88. I wanted to know if
1) Anyone is even interested?
2) Anyone would be interested in cleaning them to at least be presentable?
3) Any editors interested in transplanting the Viz scripts onto the wideban volumes, which I would scan? Because the Viz releases are pretty shoddy, anyway.
>>12179662
I think it'd be cool if you did. Did Viz ever completely translate the series? Have you scanned stuff before? How many volumes is the wideban edition?
>>12179877
Viz didn't finish it.
No one has finished it, really.
>>12179662
1) I will be interested.
2) Maybe.
3) I'm not an editor, sorry.

If the AI is as stupid as it was in the first game, you'll be able to salvage 6 at a time since they require 2 apiece and you need one for bait.
I'm pretty sure I saved my progress every now and then when I played that the first time and got them all over the course of a day or so, but back then you could build 20+ Salvage Corvettes instead of just 14. Also, incidentally, the last time I played that mission in classic I ended up breaking the hyperspace jump since the frigates were not reaching their jump positions due to literally bumping against the edge of the map (I had to Alt-look through a fuckhuge line of Ion Frigates to see what the problem was).
>>12184418
>but back then you could build 20+ Salvage Corvettes instead of just 14.
Does the Salvage Corvette cap affect the number of combat corvettes you can build or is that separate now?

I suggest you check this in about 20mins, and then again in an hour.
So it's been a little while since Awakening of the Trailblazer came out. What do you all think of aliens existing in Gundam?
Would you like to see the ELS again? A new species? Or is the very idea a crime against the franchise?
G-Recko just said they could transport Earth to another galaxy, so I don't think its out of the question.
>>12188758
Had a really creepy atmosphere in the beginning but then it was just Earth versus a bunch of silver space dildoes that apparently have no concept of the amount of harm they're doing to this other sentient race they've contacted but they understand violence well enough to fight back.
An interesting concept to be sure but it feels like it belongs in another show.
>>12188784
G-Recko says a lot of things that are clearly the characters exaggerating in-character. The problem is that since the characters talking to each other nonchalantly is how we learn 90% of the plot and setting of that show, it is really easy for someone's hyperbole or dumb joke to be mistaken as something that we are supposed to believe as setting material.
Why doesn't Kamille get more shit for this? He could have killed a guy for an incredibly petty reason.
Kamille really comes off as a psycho hot head early in the series. We've seen the Titans do nothing really wrong so far. They're a little rough for dealing with Kamille, but he's the one going around punching people. Early Zeta is just watching some insane kid try to punch and murder people.

The look of a calm, sane rational person.

Favorite Mobile Suit designs /m/?
From the little I've watched of Mecha anime so far I gotta say it's the Alex, wish it saw more combat. Also thanks for the recommendation of Gundam 00 a few weeks back, I didn't even like much anime back then but 00 was the perfect starting place and I love Gundam so far!
I love it.
I swear I'm the only person who likes this suit, but here it is.

v14 came out a few days ago, but since I don't have any spare money to buy it you'll have to wait till I get it scanned at some point in the future, unless someone's willing to pay ¥748 to get it now rather than fuck knows when.
Also, I need a translation of three bonus pages from v14. No omake this time either, unfortunately.

Alright /m/, you now are the main character of your own series. The last mecha series you watched is the mecha you pilot, whatever power you get randomly is your main gimick.

>Does a great job showing how scary and damaging giant robots fighting in a city would actually look. Most series kind of soft sell this
>Lots of dead civilians and minor characters
>Perfectly paced for 3/4 of the story
>Gundam not used until well into the story (good)
>Bugs are just really goofy looking.
>Ending super rushed
>Iron Mask just decides to fight even though he doesn't have to
>Should have been 2-3 movies and could have been the Japanese equivalent of Star Wars.
>>12183105
The pacing issues are because it was originally meant to be a TV series. They kept the beginning intact and cut right to the conclusion, skipping everything in between.
>>12183105
Also:
>Gorgeous animation
I'm not mad it was turned into a film. A tv series would have just been another forgettable series. Instead we got top tier animation.
>>12183118
Yeah, I think the pacing is fine for 3/4 of the movie. And as you said, it just jumps right to the end. Which is why I think it would have been best to make 2-3 films out of the story.
What we have now feels like the first part of Star Wars, and then you tacked on the end where they fight the Emperor from Return of the Jedi.
Iron Mask also needed more development and backstory. It's kind of just thrown into the dialogue of the final fight that he's a Cyber-Newtype. He's introduced and killed without every really doing much so he's not even that menacing or interesting. I think he only has the one cool scene where he calls out the assassin.
In universe, it's actually anti-climatic. The leader of the Vanguards dies really early on in the conflict before it really even started. And it's not like he had to, he just decided to rashy fight by himself.
