Though I always hated when they tried to make improved versions of the TIE. Vader's was okay, since it was a one-off prototype that got toned down for the mass production model since it was way too expensive to make. Kind of like the Tallgeese of the Imperial fighter line. But adding hyperdrive and shields and cloaks and so on to the EU TIE models always reeked of fanfic-tier one-upsmanship to me. The whole point of the TIE line is absurdly cheap quantity-over-quality fighters because the Empire doesn't care about the lives of its pilots. Making them better just ruins that.

That, and they never looked as good.

This doesn't seem too bad, I mean yeah it chucks terminology at you with reckless abandon, but I don't really see how that's any different from most Tomino shows.

Plates spawn Grand Chers and Brain Powereds, and B-Plates are a mysterious mcguffin that nobody clearly defines until right at the end, and all you know about them is that Orphan wants them.
