So whatever happened to this, was it dropped?
Like the name says, it was tricky to make!
Why is G-Self so fucking cute?
>>13456169
because its awesome
Did they edit pants on all of the characters in the movies or what?

DROPPED

>Turn A
You'd best be joking.

in that scene they were wearing underwear in the series.

Someone always says Demonbane and post lolis...
Well this wasn't too bad what did /m/ think of the best entry in the im@s franchise?
that's not puchim@s
Sequel based on SP (Project Fairy led by a Shuu Shirakawa clone) never. Even a fake movie trailer would do.
I honestly thought it was terrible after a certain point. Them OPs though.
I'm currently working on entries for the 'contest' before this modpack is finished. Basically enter whatever exist before 2029. The owners a cool guy, and he accepts mech models.
So I need suggestions. Oh and Flan mechs are only shooty so I can't accept melee heavy mechs.

DO NOT WANT
So what's the appeal of Getter Robo, anyway?
I adore classic super robots. I'm a huge Mazinger fan.
But I read roughly halfway into the original manga and none of the protagonists are remotely likeable so far.
For the most part they just seem bloodthirsty, and aside from the Getter 3 pilot, who seems like a decent guy at least, I get the feeling they're just in it out of necessity. All anyone says about them is that they're "hot-blooded", as per super-robot protag tradition, but being hot blooded doesn't mean you have to be an absolute psycho.
I guess Ryoma is ok, or at least not as absolutely hateable as Hayato (who in spite of seeming SOMEWHAT sympathetic I still think deserves to be as miserable as he seems). Still, though, I feel absolutely no attachment to him. The only goal they establish for him from the start is to beat the shit out of people to protect his father's honor, which isn't furthered in the slightest by piloting Getter anyway. At least in no clear way.
Should I just keep reading? Because I feel like, halfway through the manga, I should have seen the barest amount of character development beyond agreeing to pilot Getter at all. Although, I would understand perfectly well if I were jumping to conclusions. I've read things with slow build before.
Or is the original manga just not where I should go if I'm looking for a genuinely compelling story?
I checked out Armageddon, but while it takes place in it's own universe, part of me felt like I was already expected to know or care about the characters.
Help me, /m/. Getter is fucking everywhere in the Super Robot scene and I want to at least be able to appreciate it.
>Getter is fucking everywhere in the Super Robot scene and I want to at least be able to appreciate it.
>Only half way through the first manga
Then keep fucking read.
>>13454426
How do you not like based Ryouma? How do you dislike lovable Musashi? How do you hate psychopath Hayato?
Fucking idiot.
>>13454426
>Getter
>Super robot
I know people love the strike the gundam.
But I think it's fucking ugly besides the back packs

Thanks for sharing OP.
I guess I can go ahead and /thread, huh?

>strike fugly

sword and launcher packs that don't really fit the armor or the color scheme
>not fugly
Seriously, the fuck are you on? I take some issues with the Strike's design myself, but I'd never describe the striker packs positively when it comes to aesthetics.
/m/, I'm a complete anime newfag but I have to ask- should I watch NGE? I've only ever watched one anime, but Cruel Angel's Thesis has been stuck in my head all day for some mind-bending reason. I didn't even know I knew it or how I knew it was that song from NGE. It must be some kind of weird Internet collective consciousness shit. Now that I've watched the shit out of the opening, I kinda wanna sit down and watch it all, but is it really as good as people say it is? I also heard the ending was very abstract and unintelligible.

Eva is pretentious fap material for crybabies. Don't even bother.
>>13453807
Just flip a coin to decide
It'll be more helpful than asking here
>>13453807
Honestly I'd say yes. /m/ is a hipster board and Eva is popular so they'll tell you it sucks, but you should just see it and form your own opinion.

Imaginary Waifu Edition
When Bikel is damaged during a high risk takedown, his optic sensors begin to call up images of a woman he met, almost as if he's hallucinating. With the damage putting his career as a police officer at risk, can Bikel pull it together and do what needs to be done? Will the damage work itself out on its own? Or is he destined for the scrap heap?
Notes:
If you love Bikel, and who doesn't, I have good news for you about this week's episode: this is one of his finest focus episodes. If you've never cried for a robot before, you just might after this one. The scene where Bikel's sitting outside in the rain has some wonderful cinematography and music. The writing for this episode is sharp, feels very police-y, and hits you right in the heart. And it should: the writer is Nobuo Ogizawa, who regularly writes clever plots for Japanese police procedural shows, including Detective Conan, but got his start in Metal Heroes. GoGoV also has some of his episodes, and he's quite good at making things feel like police/detective work.
The line that Commander Masaki gives at the end about why Bikel shorted out is just so, so good.
You will believe that a robot can cry. Enjoy.
Thanks OP. Loving the show.
Oh man. I cried. I love Bikel. :C
>>13453775
why do you guys like leos so much
Same reason we like the Zaku II, I'd imagine. It's a grunt that tries its best in a world of super prototypes and plot armor.
cock thruster
>>13453712
never noticed that before
i guess i "get it" now!
So what's the most /m/ letter? I think it's G, since a lot of super robots' names starts with G.
Yup.
Second place might go to Z
>not m
>>13453222
Yep, even Anno couldn't escape the G axiom and had to use one in EvanGelion.
He said that if you want to sell you have to have a hard G in your title.
>2015
>still no decent modern anime about warplane squadron
The Cockpit and Area 88 OVA are good, but old.
Sky Crawlers are more about the clone soldiers than the actual warfare and life during wartime.
Yukikaze is too futuristic, but good indeed.
Modern Area 88 is shit.
We need something like this movie, but I don't think that anybody will try something like it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7gdKC76Lwg

Stop.
Whatever happened to quest threads on /m/? Did that just become a /tg/ only thing? I heard that /m/ quests run on /tg/ don't live long because the right audience isn't on /tg/.
What if I want to run a quest thread meant for /m/?
Pic related, the most recent /m/ quest on /tg/.
Even on /tg/ they're hated. The over saturation on quests leads to most not lasting past 7 threads. Zeon Quest is the only /m/ one I can think of that's lasted the test of time. Though 'Mech Engineer Quest was going strong for a while.
Quests really need their own board
>>13452815
Shadows of Zeon finished up I think last week, and there's a good few other Gundam themed quests on Suptg.
>>13452815
So you mean I should still run on /m/, thanks.
As far as Gundam series go, it seems there are very few Gundams, especially those used by protagonists, that break the RX-78 mold. Even the Turn A looks like a rounded RX-78. I get that many of them are designed by the same artists, but doesn't anyone ever get tired of it?
>>13452492
>I want a Gundam that don't look like a Gundam
>>13452492
That's the point. And yes, I'm tired of it.
Also we have a series airing right now with a Gundam that's actually fresh. The G-Self was too. And the Turn A is the most fresh.
>>13452492
>God won't kill every Gundam nerd on /m/
