looks like next Cap movie is going to be pretty /m/, can we discuss it here? Specifically ironman and his friend. I'm loving the new suit
>>13548694
what's the tiny gun or sword handle on friend
>>13548718
War Machine has a bunch of extra guns strapped on, because the suit was essentially given to the US Air Force and they don't have the technological capability to upgrade it without bulking up the suit.
MORE GUN
>>13548694
So is Tony's suit a new one?
War Machine Mk 45 looks bitching.

I think it looks pretty good

Clearly animated on a potato.
And all "real robot" mecha anime in general.
>Today, creators can no longer give heroes spontaneous motives. It seems that for some reason, we have just accepted the vanity of human effort in this managed society. Our old enemy "poverty" somehow disappeared, and we can no longer find an enemy to fight against.
>The only remaining motive is, as in other genre, professionalism. Characters fight because they are robot soldiers, pursue criminals because they are police, beat competitors because they want to be singers, or work hard because they are sports players.
>Of course (we ran out of motives). Even the last resort (of motives), "the organization who wants to conquer the world," bores us after seeing such things several times a week. It would be strange if love did not look so pale after it was so commercialized by Space Battleship Yamato. Yamato started the anime boom, but it's ironic that it was actually the grave of love and justice.
>You can't hate your opponents just because you belong to the Giants and others belong to the Dragons, Carp, or Tigers. "I don't want to lose, but I can understand your position"-- there have been many such themes in TV anime series about robot space wars. They were filled with torn-apart characters, and the audience accepted it as a realistic simulation of the society into which they have to go out, but at the same time, they were fed up with it.
>Professionalism is a kind of no-value view, and it somehow resolves into the "survival of the fittest." And what happens when we pursue it with the excessive expressionism I mentioned before? Everything becomes a game.

Do you agree with him /m/?
>>13538625
Miyazaki is a hack.
>>13538625
So he's saying characters no longer do things for their own sake, but because it's their job?
Miyazaki is a cynical old man.
Who hasn't made a good movie since the 90s.
Fucking bring it on old man. Gimmie a 70s style super robot movie. I'll fucking love it if it's good.
But you'll have to get past your boner for shoving antiwar messages where they don't belong if you actually WANT that.
What does /m/ think about the Xenoblade Chronicles X mechas?
Will do a small dump of all their designs, starting from the Light class ones up to the Heavy class.

All I needed.
Man, Barbatos looks cool as hell beneath its armor.
>>13557172
who's that banana haired lady
The last one was cool, let's try to make these a regular thing. OC mechs, requests, scribbles, fan art, doesn't matter. Just post it if you got it.
Here's some fresh OC off the presses just for you, /m/
I love these threads. I'm glad you are trying to make them regular again.
>>13423386
Obviously not mine by the way, just saved it back when these threads were more regular.
>there are people on this board right now who don't think synthetic humans would deserve rights
>>13564837
That's their fault for emulating the look of fleshbag organics so closely.
The more mechanical and less organic, the better.
>>13564837
They wouldn't. They would be nothing but tools made by man, for man, regardless of whatever they may claim.
>synthetic humans
that's a good one
Come play a fun game with robots!
This is a game we play occasionally in the gunpla general, but it requires no actual gunpla knowledge, anyone with even paint can play
**HOW TO PLAY**
>Open random.org
>Set max to 192 and roll two times, remember your numbers
>Open dalong.net and select HG on the top bar
>Click the English options in upper left and right if you like
>Find the two suits which correspond to your random numbers
>Open the reviews and find the photos with the cig pack, save them
>In your image editor of choice, scale the images so the cig pack is the same size
>Now make a silly combination of the two suits and post your beautiful creation!
If you are not creative and/or shit at computer images, feel free to just describe your vision and perhaps someone will make it for you
Examples
Posting since I made this in anticipation. Have fun guys.
I just found out that someone is translating the Cyborg 009 vs Devilman manga.
>>13563048
How come no one is translating the OVA?
>>13563082
Bystander effect, everyone thinks that someone else will do it
>>13563189
>the army of translators with the time, skill and interest to do this is just sitting around twiddling their thumbs because they figure all the other translators are going to do it
Seems unlikely
Why in almost all of the "Gundams" MS ordinary "bad guys" are constantly copying these wretched "Zaku"?
Is it not possible to draw for the antagonist and a good realistic mecha, like "Nemo" or "Leo/Virgo"?
>>13562054

Archetypes. Gundam is built upon visual shorthand. Boxy, angular, and modern-looking is good, soft, rounded, and (in UC) German-inspired is bad.
I recently started Ergo Proxy, but I need to know before I get in too deep: Exactly how complicated and convoluted is this plot? I'm on like episode 3 and it feels like something I need to be paying attention to every single detail in order to get the story. I'm cool with doing this, but if I can just relax and go with the flow of things I'm not opposed to that either. Any opinions on it?

Nobody has.

I have, if it's Gundam I'll watch it.

Bad choice.
Is the OP not subbed for anyone else? Everything else seems fine jut not the OP.
>>13546979
Yeah looks like they forgot to put the subs in for the OP.
I mean it's not too much of a loss, but that's still a pretty big thing to forget.
