Steam Man
Giant Killer, its like Hellboy with Kaijus
>The story takes place in San Francisco, California in the wake of a mysterious eruption in which giants of an unknown origin wreak havoc on the earth. The U.S. military is powerless against the monsters whose physiology defies all conventional weaponry. The military then responds with the aid of Dr. Azuma, a bio-engineer, to create a genetic hybrid to combat the giant monsters.
>Nicknamed "Yochu" by Dr. Azuma and known to the military under the operational name "Jack the Giant Killer", humanity's only hope lies in the nine-foot super-being with a bio-engineered arsenal and a samurai katana forged from the fang of one of the behemoths. With a little help from the outlaw Jill Sleet, the only human capable of surviving the poisonous territories of the giants, Jack must learn to overcome or embrace his monstrous nature in order to determine the destiny of mankind.

What are Nips saying?
How much longer will Guts and friends stay on the space boat?
I just finished the 08th MS Team, and it just seems like 0083 did everything it tried better, while having more importance in the grand scheme of things on top of it.
>>13760383
I don't see how 0083 did rapes of minors better
>>13760422
Nina raped Kou emotions.
0083 was definitely not better than 08th ms team.
In fact 0083 was probably the worst UC OVA, by its shitty ass ending alone

Mother and Child, SOS!
A boy who loves the sea and dreams of becoming a seafaring man is the only witness to a terrible crime. But his mother pressures him to not report it. What reason can she possibly have for obstructing justice? And will Winspector be able to protect the boy when the criminal comes around to eliminate the only witness?
Notes:
Most of the seaside scenes were filmed at the port in Yokohama. There's a building in the first scene that was still being built when the episode was filmed that's a major hotel in Yokohama now.
The word the boy signals at the end is "ARIGATO". I did the best I could to convey that.
Both female guest stars who appear in this episode were active in TV dramas. Takashi's mother's actress did some anime voiceover roles as well.
Bikel fans rejoice, because next week is an episode all about him... and it explains a lot about him!
>>13753103
>Only 14 episodes left
Damn, I remember getting into this show last summer as if it was yesterday.
>Bikel origin next week
The time has come. In the meantime, I'll gladly enjoy this episode.

It's amazing, isn't it? A few years back, people thought that Metal Heroes getting full subs would be a pipe dream (with Metalder being an anomaly), but not anymore. Such is the love of people who sub these shows.
>>13753103
Thanks a lot, man!
Let's have a mecha reference thread
Yellow bear (Toppi) is voiced by Furuya Toru and Black bear (Yappi) is voiced by Ikeda Shuuichi.
This show was great, I enjoyed every second if it.
Are there any others like this?
The other getter robos?
>>13737013
Other than those that is. Speaking of, is there a watchlist for the other getter robos?
>>13737002
New Getter is my 2nd favorite, aftrer Armageddon. You should check it out like >>13737013 says, the others except the original toei cartoon, are pretty good. I mean the original is OK I guess but it wasn't for me.

>A spiritual sequel to The Man In The High Castle, focusing on the New Japanese Empire, from an acclaimed author and essayist.
>Decades ago, Japan won the Second World War. Americans worship their infallible Emperor, and nobody believes that Japan’s conduct in the war was anything but exemplary. Nobody, that is, except the George Washingtons—a group of rebels fighting for freedom. Their latest terrorist tactic is to distribute an illegal video game that asks players to imagine what the world might be like if the United States had won the war instead.
>Captain Beniko Ishimura’s job is to censor video games, and he’s tasked with getting to the bottom of this disturbing new development. But Ishimura’s hiding something…kind of. He’s slowly been discovering that the case of the George Washingtons is more complicated than it seems, and the subversive videogame’s origins are even more controversial and dangerous than the censors originally suspected.

In the event anyone didn't already catch wind of this.

It adds robots, just because.
How does it feel to know that SRW OG is the perfect mix of Super Robot and Real Robot tropes and as such is the best /m/ franchise imaginable?
I hate all the SRW donutsteels
>>13770948
Pretty good. I quite like SRW OG. I don't agree that it's perfect, but I do think it's damn enjoyable.
>>13770948
I just like Axel.
What is you ideal ratio of /m/ to /a/ in your mecha anime? You can choose whether this means by just screentime or even importance. Also if you want, where your tastes fall on the real to super robot spectrum, and if you like other animus.
IBO and the controversy surrounding the lack of robots has me wondering how people see the ideal mix.
For example, let's say that IBO is something like 1:8 /m/:/a/ ratio, which is very weak. Turn A might be something like 1:3 or 4, etc.
For me personally:
>close to 1:1
>suits are seen often as well as being important
>I like the middle ground between real and super, like zeta era suits
>I basically don't watch other animu
>>13769597
>What is you ideal ratio of /m/ to /a/ in your mecha anime?
Do you even realize how retarded this question is?
>>13769603
I just mean the importance of robots vs the importance of characters, which seems to be the big split over the show between the boards
>>13769597
I came for the mechs, not the idiots piloting them. Ideal ratio is 1:0. I understand that the pilots can't be in the mechs all the time, and they shouldn't be. In between should be either training or strategizing/investigating for the antagonist
Post some of your favorite mecha "pews".
I know now what TFA lacked. It lacked Ben Burtt.
>>13769360
fucking autist the link

>>13769360
>It lacked Ben Burtt.
Burtt was still on staff.
I'm still trying to find a clear sample of AC4/FA overboost sound.
Seeing as we've explored more of the Late Universal Century, and we've gone back with Origin, and done a side story with Thunderbolt where is the next place to go with the UC?
inb4 Crossbone.
>>13769043
>we've explored more of the Late Universal Century
When the hell did that happen?
>>13769043
the only Late UC material we actually have animated(and that's all that really counts)is F91 and Victory. We haven't explored Late UC enough
>>13769051
This we haven't had any late uc except crossbones shit since the early 90s.

I hear moon og gets a split for Touya and Calvina routes.
Touya is easy mode.
>>13773630
It would be, since he has Granteed.
>>13773630
Will it be Earth and Space like in J? Will the space route introduce the W people like how it fucking should?
Tanks are objectively better than mechs; a tank could take down a mech in one clean shot to a sensitive area. Legs on a robot are a horrible idea, they can be disabled or shot and then its fucking useless. Tanks are also more maneuverable than mechs, since they don't need to haul all their fuckhuge equipment around and can simply tread over bumpy terrain, and are a smaller target. So in short, tanks are better then mechs, mech a shit.
heres ur reply bro since this is /m/ this thread will reach post limit i just wanted u to knoe ur epic and your epic thread is real epic
EPIC BRO
>>13771165
Yup. In the real world tanks and planes are more feasible and practical than mechs without a shadow of a doubt. Mechs aren't in the real world though. And that's a large part of the reason I like them. I like that they're a completely fantastical and silly contrivance that has no association with or baggage from the real world and can just be whatever the author wants them to be.
here comes /k/ to ruin everyone's fun
