Thoughts on the first episode, bros? I thought the 3D animation was fucking CRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGEEEE.
What the fuck were they thinking?
Type like a normal person first

have you taken a look at your surroundings?
Can the "cringe" mene please fucking die?
You didn't cringe from seeing a badly animated cartoon, and if you did, you have a sad life.
Why was Guld in Macross?
>>13764467
I was about to say clones before I remembered the statement that Guld was a hybrid.
So...human genes are recessive as Hell against Zentraedi?
>all zentradis look the same
You racist fuck.

Most grounded ani/m/e?
I don't mean "realistic", I mean grounded.
Giant robots are not and will not ever be useful or cost effective enough for a military.
But a show can have fantastical elements and still be grounded in reality...
so imagine a world where instead of treaded tanks being invented to maneuver over trenches in the great war, gas powered turret platforms with legs were invented. The logical progression would lead to mechs instead of tanks, because the usefulness of the tread had yet to be discovered. As time went on, more complex machinery would appear, and the bipedal mech would make sense to everyone. That's something that is grounded.
So what im asking is:
what ani/m/e has the least of the following
>space magic
>minovsky physics
>technobable
>new types/Wiseman
>robos over 7 meters tall (if there is a decent in universe explanation, or if everything else is grounded, the robo size can be over looked)
>rookies taking out aces
>demons/ghosts/mythology (looking at gasaraki, what the fuck was that shit?)
Most importantly this ani/m/e has to have
>MODEL KITS/ACTION FIGURES
So does this exist? Or is it a pipe dream?
>>13762367
Go watch WW2 tank reels. There is nothing for you in this genre with such restrictions.
>>13762367
>demons/ghosts/mythology (looking at Gasaraki, what the fuck was that shit?)
Elements of classic science fiction, that's what, along with sever other things on your list. To answer your question, Flag I guess.
>>13762367
The closest you'll get is Dougram.
But the highly realistic and practical robots are too big so you get nothing.
If you had to pick a single feature of mecha designs that you loved most of all, what would it be?
For me, it'd be shoulder/over-the-shoulder cannons. Just adding these to any design automatically makes it good in my book.
I think the one thing that all of my favorite designs have is really robust leg thrusters & vents. I know it sounds weird, but I feel like they offer a good way of making the lower body really solid without being too bulky. They also offer some really nice opportunities for surface detail and sculpting. I'm not sure I can say that it's my favorite design element, but it's definitely up there.
>>13753764
It's not a singular design feature really, but I've always loved the "It's your basic model, but with a whole lot of shit strapped to it" idea.
It's like a crew chief gave the pilot a list of options and the pilot said, "All of it"
>>13753829
I always thought of it like:
>we used to have 20 suits
>now we have 7
>what do we do with the extra equipment?
>fuck it let's just strap down every weapon we can on the ones we've got.
Does /m/ have any favorite series featuring old timey robots?

How about a mecha anime on ISS the unsung defender of earth, along with it's cohorts like Hubble space telescope and other man-made space machines?
>>13772639
ISS should be like transformer robot, making hard sci-fi fangs and black science groin in pain.
OC threads on /m/ are now a thing of past.Don't expect anyone posting original ideas in the cesspool of shitposting,as /m/ dosen't know how to have fun anymore.
>the ISS is secretly a mecha fighting off ayys
>in order to fight it drains the energy of the crew operating it
>every few years the ISS receives a well rested batch of operators and the worn out operators get to rest on Earth for a few years before coming back
That is all I got, it is a good start.
So why hasn't Legend of the Galactic Heroes been accused as being pro-fascist or objectivist since it completely buys into the Great Man Theory of history and how only heroic visionary white men who are despised by their inferiors can save the masses from war, corruption and fanaticism.
>>13771122
>white
>>13771122
cuz you talk like a fag and your shit's all retarded
>>13771122
I'm pretty sure it has been
but the show itself goes into great lengths how "great men" in history can be complete and total bastards who ruin everything, as well as the fact that even an honest, well-meaning dictator is only a good thing for as long as that one dictator's lifespan lasts, and that government should be something that ideally is able to function in the interest of the people even without a golden ubermensch calling all the shots
but then again, it also goes into great detail about how the way things should be and the way things tend not to match up
I recently watched the movie for the first time. While I can understand why people were turned off by the acting and that the effects nowadays to feel dated, but does anyone feel that if G-Saviour was an OVA, would it have been better received by Gundam fans?
desu, it's a guilty pleasure of mine. Though pretty much everything is bad, it has a certain 'the room' charm to it. I actually loved the designs for the mechs and considering it was a straight to TV movie from an unknown foreign country for the time, I can get past most of its faults. I do find the CG charming in a bad way.
As with gundams track record with OVAs, they're usually good for mech porn, but ultimately lack the depth/connection that some of the series can hold. Though I find the OVAs very enjoyable, I feel like G-Saviour, or rather any late UC be a 25 episode series.
>>13769993
In terms of story and shit? Maybe depends on, for me, probably not, just felt disconected from everything and not really tied to the UC which was my biggest complaint about it. Apparently the novel rectified this according to some but I don't speak moon so I've never read it.
For quality? It'd have improved it greatly and may be one of those OVA's that'd be liked alone on the animation quality. I mean I like the G-Saviour design outside of the movie honestly and it being properly animated would do it wonders.
Also it'd be easier to throw in the G-Saviour 2 and 3 from the games to shill more kits, and seeing them outside of just the game would have been cool.
>late UC OVA
fuck yes i'd eat it up
How can the Gundam be a real robot when he appears in the SUPER ROBOT Wars series?
Same reason why supah roboto majinga zeto appears in real robot regiment
>>13769740
Good question. Here, have some real robots.
Absolutely eric pic, /v/ro.

Let's settle this for once and all. He is not from Canada. I repeat, he is not from Canada.
So? Majority of the people in the world are not born in Canada.
>>13769278
you are missing my point. A lot of people believed wikipedia article that stated he was born in Prince Rupert, Canada with a source from bullshit Dynasty Warrior Gundam game.
Well, he is not, and I am here to correct that false statement.
>>13769287
It was never from Dynasty Warriors anon, that just repeated it. It was from the movies that people got that - which the article you just linked flat out says, so I'm not sure why you're trying to undersell it by acting like Dynasty Warriors was the only source to ever say this. And in the novels he's Mexican if I recall. So even Yoshikazu saying he's from Sanin in Tokyo isn't really definitive because it depends which version of him they're talking about.

I have no idea. They just met and something pinged and suddenly her boyfriends best friend stole her, before her boyfriend went and started fucking his best friends sister.
In general a good tactic is to practice half-baked pacifism. Preferably if it makes no sense.
This is actually a good redesign of Getter G.
