The Kshatriya is using its Engines to push the Jegan back and buy distance, instead of using its I-field.

Unfortunately, this also makes no sense in space because you can't use blowback force in a vacuum, because there isn't anything to blow. Trying to pull that maneuver as such a close distance would have left the Kshatriya a sitting duck, totally exposed, and the Jegan would can cut it to ribbons.

Remember, this is unicorn. The same guys who are convinced that if you stick a beam saber into the ground and let go it will stay held in place. There are not very smart, nor do they care about setting consistency to any degree.

It would work if the thrusters were pointed directly at the Jegan, because then the exhaust would be pushing on it, so I can kind of understand what they were thinking here. But then they animated it with the thrusters pointing outward, and then it stops working. That would only work if the Kshatriya's engines are really unfocused, so instead of an efficient tight cone of exhaust they're spraying it all over the place. And that's dumb for obvious reasons.

If it has any problem going for it, it's the 'too many cooks' effect it has developed over the years as new creators add onto it and try to modify parts of the history and setting to suit their needs and preferences, creating a lot of the oft-debated weird continuity of the sidestories and the like.

Reminder that force = acceleration (speed) * mass. A bullet goes fast, but it doesn't weigh a whole lot. The force exerted on your target is less (total) than the recoil force you experience from the gun (assuming no dampening tricks in your engineering), it's just concentrated over a smaller area.

Do you believe the Hollywood cliché of shotguns or large revolvers blowing people backwards through doors or windows? Because you can't do that with a gun, but you can do that with a good kick.

So while the sword is limited to the number of targets it can smack at once, that gun should probably not be blowing up Laser-class in a single shot like that. It just looks cool. And you know what else looks cool? Giant robots with swords.

There's a lot of yamato stuff with BDs that have yet to be ripped. What a shame too since that one is actually one of the best Yamato movies imo. I can't remember if this was the movie that changes aspect ratio and has hardsubs, but I'm downloading a shitty dvd rip and checking.

If you still care, this release comes with subs. However whoever encoded it is a fucking retard because they didn't take into account the change in aspect ratio in the middle of the movie. There's a DVD iso on nyaa still so I guess it's possible to give it a decent encode from that. I haven't found any BD raws anywhere though which sucks.
