Why are most modern mecha so feminine nowadays? Slender build, long legs, wide hips, small shoulders, tiny feet... have Nips just become so pussified that they reject the massive meaty clunkers of the pre-2000's era?
I want to fuck that robot.

I'm about to rewatch it after about 7 years. Don't remember a single thing about it other than the ship design and boobs.

***READ THE GUIDE***
For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, don't make the new people worry!
>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

Our next Group Build!
Field Repair
Basically what this means is that rather than the mobile suit being fresh out of a factory, it's quite the opposite. Whether it's trudging through dense jungles or dodging debris in asteroid belts, your mobile suit has seen some better days.
You've been out in the field for quite a long time now, nearly half a year of active duty in the front lines and your personal mobile suit's pretty banged up. What's worse is the fact that there isn't a maintenance bay within several thousand kilometers of your local area that's capable of making any major repairs. Your unit's engineering crew has resorted to patch work and jury-rigging to keep your machine operational. Stray fire might have crippled its legs and arms or otherwise dealt considerable damage to a mobile suit's systems meanwhile some units have simply lost bits of armor and panels to the elements and have been forced to patch weld metal sheets over the exposed inner workings.
In any case it's beaten to hell but somehow you and your team have somehow kept it chugging along and now command's ordered all units operating in your theatre to fall back to form a defensive line against the enemy offensive.

Has anyone tried hanging models from their ceilings? If so, did you just tie some fishing wire around some of the joints and then put it through a hoop?

Well it is objectively amazing.
>Gurren Lagann is hugely popular in the US
>aside from fanart and one badass comic there's no substantial spin-off media and no interest in games/movies
>despite high ratings from Japanese viewers, the series fails to leave a significant mark on anime
>aside from a few action figures, all the figurines are porny Yoko statues
>no video games outside of untranslated SRW
>no strip mahjong games
>no official doujins
>no galge
I'm not saying I'm entitled, but TTGL is one of Gainax's more ignored properties. What's with that?
Because they get far more out of milking Evangelion's corpse dry.
I have a few of the Plamo kits, that's about it. It's been damn near ten years and the story really left no room for a continuation and ended in a good place. I don't think we'll see any merch anytime soon besides maybe a 10th anv. Scale or something along those lines.
TTGL is best left untouched in my opinion.
>>13766061
Because after TTGL all the talent at Gainax went to Kara and Trigger, leaving Gainax full of people who had no idea what to do with it.
>dat loli abuse
Finally, this show has redeemed itself again.
I will continue to watch now with gusto.

He's Canadian.
>>13804817
i don't think Amuro is Hispanic.
>>13804846
he's more spic than canadian
Okay, that ending felt pretty bullshit. The action is nice, but the whole thing is less fulfilling than the series.
>>13800670
The series wasn't fulfilling either, the movie at least resolved the love triangle instead of lol sky end.
I don't see how it's less fulfilling
Do you need to be 100% assured that he's coming back? Because he did at the end
>>13800975
It's more that the series had more in terms of the characters, whereas the movies felt like the action was center stage. Which I understand, certainly, nobody's going to watch the movies if they're 75% talking, but it comes at the cost of flatter characters. There was less of Ozma and Cathy, Sheryl felt less developed, and even with the happier ending Klan and Michael didn't feel as well-done as it was in the series. The completely different plot I was fine with, it's just that parts of it feel weird or forced because they had to tell the story in 4 hours instead of 8.
Credit where it's due though, it wasn't just a clip show of the series. The quality didn't feel like it was much higher than the series, but they did add a bunch of new stuff for the concerts.
Explain this to me:
>everyone on /m/ is (ostensibly) a grown man
>even though we are grown men we like giant robots
>some of us go even further, and will actually watch programming intended for children to get our giant robot fix
>some of it is nostalgia, but there are seriously guides on how to get started with watching power Rangers... my 7 year old watches fucking power rangers.
Are we hopeless /m/an children?
>>13800178
My last two girlfriends liked giant robots and tokusatsu too. It's not a guy thing.

Get your 3rd wave feminism out of here
I've been watching Gundam in order, and I just finished this a little bit ago. How the fuck is it possible that I cared more about these characters in just six episodes than I cared about any of the other characters besides Char and Amuro over close to a hundred episodes and a movie? This is a mile better than anything released in the franchise so far from what I've seen.
>>13810493
Ok?
>>13810493
It's okay anon, i bet we'll have a new war soon
>>13810493
>This is a mile better than anything released in the franchise so far from what I've seen.
Victory is better than War in the Pocket IMO. Perfect blend of (almost) believable character and plot with good old robot fights.
Okay /m/, now I'm confused.

I don't see a thread for it but is there a way of getting Gundam Battle Operation NEXT? I played the ps3 one.
Hows this one?
I never tried but can you make a japanese account on a ps4?
Is it better then the ps3 one?
Does /m/ even play it?
>>13809481
Played the beta and it sucked. but do they kick foreigners out any chance they get like in the beta? cause shit man that killed the game for me.
Battle Operation Next is shit. Stick to Battle Operation.
I play it as it is the only gundam game I have access to atm just unlocked freedom yesterday, it is pretty shit though especially since you can only do like 3 battles then have to wait 6 hours irl before you can play another 3.

>>13805461
I hope this happens, I've been wanting to play this, but I really don't want to either go though the trouble of buying and modding an Xbox, then pay $300+ for the damn game, or doing the Xbox thing then pirating it. (Most of it is I don't want another console taking up room just to buy it for one game)
It'd probably end up being Xbone exclusive because Microsoft was involved but fuck it, I'd buy one just for it.
