So why did Gendo decide to paint his wife in pimpmobile colors, anyway?
She had to get her daily dose
>>14180631
because it's about ethics in instrumentality
>>14180631
Better question - why did Gendo decide to paint his wife like Barney the Dinosaur?
So I know that the similarities derive from both of these shows having similar inspirations like Ideon and Megazone 23. Thing is I watched those and I didn't really find them to be the source of inspiration for any of the elements I was interested.
Namely two things. One is the visualized, introspective like scenes with a sort of stream of consiousness like structure. Where we see Ayato and Shinji talking to projections of their mind.
The other is the somewhat abstract relation between the MC and token mysterious girl in each show - Quon and Rei.
So where did these come from?
>>14180647
I've seen all four of those and none of them have any of the elements you mentioned.
I mean to me when I think of Eva, the trippy psychological sequences are what come to mind.
Bump. This seems pretty interesting
>>14183943
Made the same topic on /a/, in the end people told me there that these ideas rather came from Eva and Rahxephon copied them.
But I still wanted to know what inspired those ideas in Eva itself and I didn't get info on that.
So i just watched opening of the Chouriki Robo Galatt and it seems pretty cool. Subs when?
Either when Luurah picks it up, or Nanto does (since it's said in here that he'd love to do it someday: http://letsanime.(the blog free of spots).ca/2010/11/welcome-to-galatt.html). Or both of them, for a collab.
Then again, Silver Castle Subs aren't limited to 90s shows, so who knows.

Just watched it. Breddy good actually. Elements of the environments of the fights left something to be desired--some surfaces were just *too* flat, but the choreography was much better than the previous entries. Although, something was a little off for the debut of the upgraded Alexanders. It's probably because it's been months since I watched the 4th to associateAshley's with red
Story had some interesting stuff pertaining to cool theoretical energy state physics, but I can't quite say it felt "in place." All in all, though, I think it rounded off fairly cleanly. Probably will watch again for webms once the BD is ripped.
6, maybe 7/10 for the whole series. I think episode 4 is probably the best of the bunch though.
They left a pretty decent sized hook for a sequel if they want.
Oh, most importantlySuzaku doesn't give Kingsley water
What's up, /m/?
I recently stumbled upon this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKoAlqeulYM
and wondered if anyone on here could confirm the story stated in the description.
Just to make sure, here's what it says:
"This is The Big-O (THE ビッグオー) Official Card Screensaver that came with the introductory package of The Big-O credit card from issuing bank GC Card on the Cirrus interbank network and JCB credit card network (from Tokyo, Japan circa 2002).
The optical disk is shaped like a credit card, black with metallic outline of Roger, Dorothy, and Norman (same pose from the first slide). The disk ONLY contains the screensaver."
Honestly, that sounds pretty exciting to me, but I can't seem to find any other information, let alone actual proof besides the video itself about all this.
Does anyone here have the original disc and everything related and would be so kind as to provide some pictures? The screensaver itself would be highly appreciated as well, obviously.
>>14179791
Sounds to me like you're not a true Big O fan.
>>14179828
Well, obviously. Why do you think I made this thread? I seek to become a true fan, just like the uploader.
While we're on it, I really hope /m/ has got all the show-related and imported figmas, DVDs and of course Blu-Rays, because I'm not sure if I'd be able to tolerate any pseudo-fans in here; and I'm sure the uploader wouldn't either.
>>14179791
What, what? So this was a CD that stored some kind of interactive screensaver?
Windows Vista and Windows 7 have Dreamscape preinstalled which lets you play videos as part of desktop backgrounds but I've never heard of a screensaver that was video-based or played sounds.
Episode 39 of Daltanious: Robot of the Future is out!
Time to break out the filler!

Is there any reason at all why the Ex-Gear pilot suits from Frontier have completely vanished other than "one gimmick per season"? They were kind of useful.
But they haven't. The VF-31 has been stated in-series to use EX-Gear.
>>14179477
keep watching
>>14179477
The ex-gear for the vf-31 is now VF side instead of pilot side.
Why are robot couples so much better than human ones /m/?
>>14179305
That's a robot and a human girl in a lazy cosplay. Don't you go trying that mecha musume shit, you get one or the other or you're being lazy.
>>14179327
I'm pretty sure she is a cyborg at least.

You read it first here folks.
Posting images, dprk sites aren't working
a series about a stealth gundam. uses lots of submarine movie tropes. gundam and enemy mobile suits use minovsky particles to bend light and make them invisible to everyone but newtypes.
UC Gundam that takes place in the under ice oceans of Europa. Using aquatic mobile suits and a Zeta Gundam modified for aquatic warfare. more submarine warfare tropes. no newtype nonsense.
Gundam sports anime. a mobile suit sport like the zero g game played by the kids in Ender's Game.
Gundam Olympics for 2020. Mobile suits doing events instead of humans.
>>14178905
SD Gundam and fund it.
Series that takes place entirely in space, perhaps after humanity finally ditched earth completely. Focus on battles on and around asteroids, space debris, make ships essentially space fortresses so large that infiltrating them in an MS would make more sense than not.

Where can I watch/torrent this thing? It's not on kissanime, and the bakabt torrent isn't working.
When in doubt use Nyaa (or failing that, Kick Ass Torrents or Piratebay).
>>14178406
The one on nyaa has a kickass torrent with it, which I'm assuming is the subtile files, and the kickass version with subs has 0 seeders. I'll just wait 16 hours to see how fucked I am.
Its on Youtube
If all Gouf equipped with command antenna by default, how do they tell grunts and commander unit apart?
Or maybe Gouf is supposed to be commander unit only?
the commanders got gouf customs?
>>14178347
>be commander unit only
Most likely this. Commander's in Goufs, red shirts in Zakus.
>>14178347
grunts never got the gouf.
>began in 1999
Phew! Just in time for the retro cutoff so it can now be considered a "classic". Imagine the shitposting that would occur if this was just a few years later. Could it have reached possibly SEED and G-Reco levels?
>>14178338
people still hate it for being boring, when it was made doesn't change that fact. I think they're crazy but what do i know
>>14178338
This is not /a/. The "classic" cut off was in 1989.
>>14178351
Nah, classic /m/ is pre-1987
Blu-Ray when?
>>14178101
Never.
>>14178398
Seems to be a running theme with anything Nagano related.
>>14178405
So how postal would the anime/mecha world be if Nagano released Gothicmade for home release?
