So /m/, I personally don't believe Zeon Zum Deikun was assassinated. I feel like he has a massive heart attack due to bad health. He was older and under a lot of stress and had bad sleeping habits.

Degwin Zabi may or may not have been "appointed his successor" officially, but I think Degwin was legitimately trying to continue the ideals of Zeon Zum Deikun. In my opinion, Ghiren is to blame for pretty much all the "evil Zeon" stuff that happens pre/during the OYW. Degwin has been shown to want peace talks at the end of the war (MSG 0079), and even has to pull back the reigns on Ghiren when he [Ghiren] wants to start the war during the Zeon rebellions on Side 3 (ORIGIN OVA 3).

So all-in-all I would say Ghiren is a master at media manipulation and politcs, whilst his father is content being a powerful figurehead for the ideals of Zeon independence.

Degwin isn't a bad guy, just a few of his kids are (Sasro, Ghiren, Kycillia <--- assholes . . . Dozel, Garma <---- good guys)

Why does Baron Ashura hate cruise ships? He's always blowing them up. Just started the Skull Army episode and he just fucking blows one up. When it comes to testing a mechanical beast, he loves fucking up a cruise ship. Does he just hate shipping in general?

Just found out about this, it's a short 15-minute OVA from the 80s with pretty sweet mecha animation. Too bad about the recording quality.

Is anyone else aware of this thing's existence? I know it's a Zoids spinoff with some recent kits from Kotobukiya, but I'm surprised an anime was ever even made.

since it's in the new SRW I ask, How would YOU make Prince of Darkness not suck.

Keeping the basic premises in tact.

Yuri is a captain and main character
Akito is still Batman Punisher
Yurkia is still whatever the fuck she was, I don't remember.
You can set up for a sequel but shit does need to happen here

As I saw it there was too much time dicking around with summer vacation fluff, which would have been fine if not for the grimmer tone of what happened to our previous heroes. So you really need to cut the vacation stuff a lot shorter. Manga drawing scene? gone entirely.

Now with all the extra time we can set up a proper gathering of the old gang, explore the villains a bit more, and maybe get some hints of what's actually going on.

We don't have to "save Akito" just yet and can leave that for the latter films but at least give more insight into what's going on with him and that we're working towards resolving shit.
