It's not like you play these games for story or gameplay or expect the game to be good.

Exactly. Let me rephrase: Is this games FUN? Does it have good fanservice? Can i happily mash buttons for days if i enjoy this kind of game, or is there something that hinder the fun? And more importantly, does it have the usual challange that Dinasty Warriors offers?

Just the right mix of comfy world building, good characters, nice aesthetic, and dynamic combat scenes. Loran was a pacifist MC done right, and Diana was one of the best characters I've seen in an animated film. Also

Thematically this is Tomino turned up to 11, and boy is it done well. Once in a while things get confusing, but not as much as people have claimed in the past, it is easy to figure out if you just sit down and think about it a bit. Jonathan Glenn is the best antagonist in the genre, the guy is fucking psycho in the best way possible. The mecha design, general aesthetic, and setting is all really unique and well done. The soundtrack is incredible. The cast is really nice, albeit a bit bloated.

>Zeta Gundam

Pretty much nails what UC Gundam is about, that constant cycle of inner demons getting the best of us and leading us to our ruin. Mostly great fight choreography save a small minority of boring fights that were just kind of thrown in for the hell of it, fantastic characters, a really dark and opressive atmosphere permeating throughout the show, and goddamn are those mecha designs ever great. Zeta was written in a really unorthodox way, and kind of plods along, subtly working in themes and character arcs without the cliche dramatic anime narrative style bogging down Tomino's vision. It also really completes everything that was set up in the last arc of 0079 as far as what newtypes would be in the franchise.

Somehow, i look it as Nausicaa without deathfungi and more GUNDAMUUUU, thats why its awesome. Also it have beautiful worldbuilding and animation.

I had a bootleg version of this game long before ever knowing what Macross was.

Actually watching Macross and learning the context of the song doesn't make it fit any better.

It's terrible. Almost all of Minmay's songs except kyun kyun and DYRL are pretty bad.

Sure, it looks neat.

That they actually decided to expand the world, give character to the robots, and introduce single player, I have to give them credit for.

But it still probably won't convince me to install Origin or give money to EA. That is, unless they go so far as to give a mea culpa for saying that their giant robots aren't mecha, and as long as they don't pull any extra bonehead moves like forcing installation of lossless audio in all languages.

Because Ishiguro is a much, much more competent director than Kawamori or anyone else he hired to work on the sequels.

The real question is why the hell he wasn't brought back to continue work on the series when it's been gratingly clear for a good while now that Kawamori has no fresh ideas to use anymore.

Well, TTGL was actually an enjoyable entry-level anime to introduce people to super robots.

Getter Robo Armageddon relies too much on being a re-imagining of a much older franchise to stand on its own feet, its pacing kind of sucks, and it tries to be too serious and edgy for what it is.

Not saying you can't enjoy Armageddon, but its a fallacy to call it an TTGL the same show in anything but superficial details. Its like asking why Gundam bothers to exist when Star Wars is already a thing.
