I would check out FSS is I were you. Under the 'mecha' section of Gears Online there is a nine page detail of the structure and skeleton of a mortarheadd.
Fascinating to read, I'd say its my own personal choice for best internals.

Daimidaler was pretty fucking awful. It had like two jokes, both of which it thoroughly ran into the ground and no one in the cast was remotely likable. The Penguin Empire could be pretty funny, but they were about all the show had.

Watch Dai Guard and read the Demonbane VN instead.
