my diary, to be honest

"Sorrows" are written as letters to Werther's friend, not as a diary.
>>
Meditations.

Anne Frank's journal

Doctor Glas

DrĂ¡cula for several journals.

Dracula, Frankenstein

Seconded.

Also, The Dwarf by Lagerkvist if we're on Swedish literature.
>>
>>7333918
Thirding Dracula, it's a pretty decent book. A lot of Lovecraft's stuff is written as diary entries, too.
>>
Literally the shittiest form of narration. Not a single good book has ever been written as a diary and I don't understand why authors still legitimately use it.

Gogol's Journal of a madman

A Confederacy of Dunces contains a few journal writings, though they make up a very small portion of the book.

Nausea by Sartre

It's pretty good so far, but I'm only halfway through

Can't believe no one had said The Martian yet. It plays, Masterfully, with the tripe odd journal entry novels, by being a transcript of video journals. It's also a very realistic book, and redefines hard Sci fi with the voice of the current generation. Could not recommend nore highly.

Algernon?
>>
Jakob Von Gunten by Robert Walser.

>>7334754
Anyone who recommends The Martian should always bring a huge disclaimer. The character development and writing is awful. The only thing interesting (and very much so) is the scenario and MacGyver in space.
But the fucking lol-so-quirky ninjarobots space pirate disco shit is terrible.
