The New Yorker said it's breddy gud but starts to drag. Then again, the reviewer got all excited about how he third person narrator changes emphasis depending on what character the scene is centered around. I thought that was common practice.

op here, saw another review (may have been chicago tribune) said it was mostly excellent but the ending was flimsy
>>
I saw news about this like two years ago. Insane that he was given $2 million. Kinda lame to accept that amount when publishing is dying. Anyway it looks ok but I won't read it. Too little meme potential here.

>lame to accept that amount when publishing is dying
Stay resentful. In the absence of patronage it's the best he can do and we should be glad that it's not another Twilight getting that money.

that massive amount of money is probs generating the hype tbh. dont see a 2 million advance for an author nowadays
>>
>>7225395
Never heard of it or him. Why should I care?
>>
>>7225562
Because this is a literature board and curiosity is a virtue.
>>
>>7225562
dunno just wondered if anyone was interested or had thoughts about it man

I like beefy tomes, so I'll probably pick it up. But I rea anything that is expansive so you might as well wait for reviews and opinions.

>curiosity is a virtue
I'll give you that.

I'm just bustin' your balls. But really though, I am suspicious of hype.
