has anybody on /lit/ read the inheritance cycle by christopher paolini and if so what do you think of it

As far as a fantasy read goes, I enjoyed it.
While I wouldn't say it's particularly exceptional, I enjoyed the magic, as it obeyed thermodynamics. Again, it isn't exceptional, but I read it twice.
>>
I'm in the middle of it now, and I find that I'm really connecting with some of the characters, particularly Arya for obvious reasons lol although what grips me most about the series is the complexity and intricacy of the ancient language, it makes it somewhat real to me that you can actually learn to manipulate the language outside of set phrases. But as you say, the magic in it isn't just fairy shit, it's almost science, and I think the land, the people within it are so well developed.
It isn't written particularly well, but as a concept it's very artistic to me

Essays are the lowest medium of writing

Try Montaigne, Emerson, or Schopenhauer

David Foster Wallace. Ignore the memes and the shitposting. He's actually a very talented essayist. Don't rate his nonfiction writing based on Infinite Jest. Read his 'Consider the Lobster'. It's got some great essays. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Which book(s) would serve to undo the mental damage that years of r9k have imparted on me?

in reference to what? Your inability to function as a human being, or your hatred of women? Because books don't help with that, not matter what /lit/ likes to pretend. The only cure is to go out and have a semi-normal conversation with an assortment of semi-normal people.
>>
no more mr nice guy robert glover.
and more important than that, staying away from any kind of psychology, philosophy or sociology books, which will make you question the reality even more, which is something that you don't need after a heavy session of r9k autism session.

That story about being stuck almost forever in a white void if you teleport to mars while conscious is pretty good, also from King. I don't really like him as a writer, but he makes some good stuff occasionally.

Do you ever get asleep whilst reading? Do you ever get bored? How strong is your ability to focus on the text? How long can you keep repressing your thoughts generated by the book before they completely blow up your concentration?

So I'm reading Capital at the moment, and I noticed an inconsistency that Marx hasn't adequately addressed which, coincidentally, is one of the largest talking points of his detractors. If the value of labor is no longer tied to productivity, what incentive is there for the laborer to produce more than the lowest common denominator? The laborer would be so far removed from the fruits of their labor that it would be almost silly to expect them to adhere to the "the more I produce, the more everyone has" logic, compounded by the size of the workforce.

>>
>If the value of labor is no longer tied to productivity
What do you mean?
>>
>>9667126
Well to ensure the communal ownership of property, and the eradication of the class system, wages would necessarily be fixed to the extent that productivity does not determine how much or how little one receives, or else Marx risks the construction of social classes based on merit.
>>
>>9667118
Because otherwise they get fired. And being without a job and without means of production leaves you without food, which leaves you dead.

I'm a kissless virgin and I have too many things to do to put in effort to change that, but I want to figure out how to write sex scenes for my stories despite that. Do you guys have any tips and guides?

You should only write what you know. Male virgins have no business setting pen to paper desu
>>
>they went ahead and wallowed in each other's excrement through the only sanctioned sociocultural adapter

>virgin
>want to write a sex scene
Just don't. Having it implied is perfectly fine. Nobody wants to read a sex scene from someone who has absolutely no idea what sex is like.
