lately it feels like i'm getting dumber. i'm having a harder time properly articulating myself, and feel like i'm making fewer connections and drawing fewer insights from the art/lit i consume. has this ever happened to you? what should i do about it?
>>9740815
You're a frogposter. There's no getting dumber at that stage.
>>9740815
I remember that frog from one of my elementary school science books.
I found a link to this on /lit/ recently and was intrigued, so I just started reading it and what the fuck? Is it some kind of philosophy-based joke, or is it meant to be taken seriously and if so I have no real background in philosophy, what do I need to read beforehand?

Are hallucinations matter?
Do hallucinations matter?
It's hard to say but I think it's probably worthwhile to distinguish between the experiences you get ingesting mescaline and those you get ingesting jimson weed or belladonna. The latter drugs produce (from what I've heard) a qualitatively distinct type of experience (or "hallucination"). Under mescaline, to the best of my knowledge, you always remain aware of the fact you are high. But jimson weed and other such delerients eliminate that last tenuous distinction, literally plunging you into a new reality. If you really believe your friend is in your room talking to you, that this situation is not the product of any drug, I think you have a proper hallucination. Drugs like mescaline are probably better described as inducing, except in certain peak experiences, pseudo-hallucinations. But the distinction might not hold if you consider the question of their ontology.
1. Me feeling hallucinations matter is completely arbitrary (yet useful)
2. Me feeling hallucinations are changed by physical change in and out of your body is completely arbitrary (yet useful)
Hallucinations teach you that there is no right or wrong way to see the world
Only different persectives literally
To me all substances change how you perceive your experience
Ive done mescaline 2ce 25i 2ct2 2cb lsd (100-200 hits) (also liquid L mmm...) mushrooms dmt molly/x MCAT ketamine 3meo many more ama
I love psychedelics and how they change how i perceive my experience

>Are hallucinations matter?
they originate in matter, as the body is material.
>Do hallucinations matter?
we can find subjective meaning in them that brings awareness to our perception of reality.
I'll start.
Obligatory.
Allahu Akbar
Just watched "American Anarchist" on Netflix...opinions on this book???
>>9740411
Can you give any opinions on the book? Or have you only watched the TV version?
>>9740411
I think the book is a bit overhyped, I owned a copy as a Teenager and apperently the bomb stuff in their the least interesting bit isn't exactly reliable. I don't think he should be made to feel guilty for any associations his work has had with violence, as there are much better sources here and there people could have gotten the information from considering Paladin Press had its heyday at the time.
Spend the extra money and buy the original. As a kid, I used to follow instructions and make fireworks but that shit put a friend of mine in fucking jail. So, be careful if you buy it. Read it to deconstruct counterculture. The doc is shit and is advocating censorship, makes democrats look stupid
Fuck seem. Seems/seeming is what stupid people say instead of "is."

Don't mistake vagueness for profoundness.

"Reality", as in a thing beyond and separate to our narratives/ideologies, doesn't exist
Ideology is inescapable because it is real/reality (according to zizek)

Is it possible or does it even make sense to call yourself a nationalist if you aren't well read on your countries literature?
>>9739906
It it were impossible, then the number of nationalists would decrease hundredfold.
>>9739906
what if your country hasn't produced shit? why is it easier to be a nationalist in africa than in europe?
>>9739941
Because African nations are inhospitable to the international jew who decries and attacks any hint of nationalist sentiment in the western nations he parasites off of.
For Americans, would it be worthwhile to read a book by each President? (Or about, in the case of those who didn't write any books?)
And yes, inb4 a thousand posts about it, I know that would mean reading The Art of the Deal.
>>9739888
Not in the least. All of them will be incredibly subjective, biased, clouded by ego and concern for legacy. It would be worth reading books ABOUT presidents, of course.
>>9739894
The Art of the Deal isn't the worst thing to read. There's plenty of dopey things that you might not consider that can be taken away from it. A lot of it is common sense though.
I want to know everything. Philosophy, literature, economics, etc. There are a lot of lists and charts on the wiki, but I want a definitive reading list that will make me a cultured and well-read human being. My request is basically for an updated version of the Harvard Classics. Where can such a definitive reading list be procured? Pic unrelated.
